Here's a teardown of the new Galaxy S21 Ultra with Exynos 2100 inside
Samsung's new ultra-flagship Galaxy S21 Ultra flagship smartphone is nearly here, with some people getting their hands-on the phone and tearing them down already. Check it out, and nerd out like I did:
The new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra that has been received its new teardown treatment is the international version, with Samsung's new Exynos 2100 processor. A previous teardown was done on the Galaxy S21 but it was the US version which packs Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 888.
That video with the Snapdragon 888 packed the third-gen QTM535 mmWave antenna modules, but none were inside of the Galaxy S21 Ultra flagship smartphone.

Nope, no more charger cable in the box for Samsung Galaxy S21 phones
Samsung has removed the charger from the retail packaging of the new Galaxy S21 family of smartphones, which includes the new Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones.
The company wants its customers to use their old accessories instead, with not just the charger removed from the box but the included wired headphones that Samsung normally includes with its Galaxy smartphones. Samsung says that it is promoting "better recycling habits" with its customers.
Patrick Chomet, head of customer experience at Samsung's mobile communications unit said: "We believe that the gradual removal of charger plugs and earphones from our in-box device packaging can help address sustainable consumption issues and remove any pressure that consumers may feel towards continually receiving unnecessary charger accessories with new phones".

Apple 'aggressively testing' vapor chamber cooling for iPhones in 2022
Apple is working on multiple next-gen iPhones including some interesting foldable iPhone prototypes, but the next-gen iPhone is going to feature some of the very best cooling technology Apple has ever used inside of an iPhone.
According to a new report from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, which says Apple is "aggressively testing" vapor chamber cooling technology for its new iPhone. The new iPhone will want to be thinner than ever, as well as the best screen technology and a bigger battery -- as well as a next-gen A-series CPU with 5G connectivity, and so much more.
TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said: "The iPhone's critical reason not to adopt VC is because of its reliability test results that cannot meet Apple's high requirements. Still, we are optimistic about the VC reliability improvement schedule and expect that at least high-end iPhone models would be equipped with VC in the near future".

Apple's foldable iPhone: Ceramic Shield glass bends, but doesn't break
We all know Apple will have a foldable iPhone in the future, but when it does it can't be just yet another foldable smartphone -- it has to make an impact, something that every single person stands up and takes a look at.
Well, one of those things could be the use of "chemically strengthened Ceramic Shield folding glass" for their foldable iPhone according to Jon Presser on YouTube -- at about 10 minutes into the video. According to Presser, Apple is working on two foldable iPhone prototypes right now, and they're reportedly using this new folding glass technology.
Apple's first of two foldable iPhone prototypes is reportedly similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 2, while the other foldable iPhone prototype is a Galaxy Z Flip-style clamshell design. Where Apple will do it differently, is with a Reality Distortion Field that will power the new "chemically strengthened Ceramic Shield folding glass" for a technologically impressive foldable iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is peak smartphone... 2 weeks into 2021
Samsung has made its new Galaxy S21 family of smartphones official, with the new flagship Galaxy S21 Ultra being a truly king level smartphone with some incredible hardware at its fingertips.
We're looking at a large 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a WQHD+ resolution of 3200 x 1440 @ 515 PPI and an adaptive and beautifully smooth 120Hz refrsh rate with HDR10+ certification on top. Inside, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is powered by either Qualcomm's new flagship Snapdragon 888 or Samsung's own in-house Exynos 2100 processor.
Depending on the model, you're looking at 12GB or 16GB of RAM (up from 8GB inside of the normal Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ smartphones) while storage options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. There is no microSD card slot on the new Galaxy S21 smartphones, with even the flagship Galaxy S21 Ultra missing out -- I'm sure it's going to be shifted over as a Galaxy Note exclusive in 2021.

Samsung Galaxy SmartTag: you'll never lose your keys ever again
Samsung has just introduced the latest member of its Galaxy family of products, with the introduction of the new Galaxy SmartTag. Check it out:
The introduction of the new Galaxy SmartTag has been in the planning for a while, as it is controlled by the new SmartThings Find service that Samsung launched recently. Samsung's new Galaxy SmartTag uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology, and has a button that lets you start a pre-defined smart home routine -- turning on a light, or your air conditioning for example.
Samsung's new Galaxy SmartTag works just like a Tile tracker, pairing with your smartphone through the Samaung SmartThings app. You can search for the Galaxy SmartTag, and when you get close to whatever the tag is attached to -- a bag, keys, or even something like a Nintendo Switch -- you can tap your phone and the tag will make a noise so you can easily find it.

LG's new Rollable smartphone has a 'unique resizable screen'
LG first began work on its now Rollable smartphone back when it was known as the "Explorer Project" experiments, but here we are: LG's new foldable smartphone competitor to Samsung's growing line of foldables.
The new LG Rollable smartphone has what LG calls a "unique resizable screen" that extends the smartphone, turning it into a larger, more tablet-like display. The display slides in and out of its place, making the screen bigger when you need it. Reading a message? You might use the small screen, but replying to it? You might want to extend it to use the keyboard easier... or to watch a video on the bigger screen.
LG has confirmed it's branded the new roll-out smartphone as the Rollable, and will be releasing it later this year. We don't know the exact pricing just yet, but leaks have suggested that the upcoming LG Rollable smartphone will cost somewhere in the vicinity of $2350.

Samsung's flagship Galaxy S21 Ultra will run 120Hz at full QHD+ res
Samsung's new Galaxy S21 family of smartphones will be launched on January 14, with the flagship Galaxy S21 Ultra shaping up really, really well.
The flagship Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will have a 120Hz refresh rate and full QHD+ resolution, which you can have both enabled at the same time. Unlike the current flagship Galaxy S20 Ultra which forces you to choose either the native QHD+ resolution or 120Hz, you can't have both at the same time -- but you can on the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Samsung leaker @Universelce has now revealed the news with a screenshot explaining: "Galaxy S21 Ultra realizes WQHD+ resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate can be turned on at the same time".

OnePlus is about to change the smartphone game in 2021 with the upcoming launch of its two new smartphones: the OnePlus Nord N10 5G flagship, and the Nord N100 value champion smartphone.
Both of the new Nord smartphones rock 90Hz displays -- impressive considering the Nord N10 5G is $299 and the Nord N100 is just $179 -- yes, a $179 smartphone with a 90Hz display. This is normally a feature you'd get for $750-$1000+ but OnePlus is doing it starting at $179 in the US on January 15, 2021.
The new flagship OnePlus Nord N10 5G has a 6.49-inch 90Hz display and 30W fast-charging -- inside, it'll be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 processor, 6GB of RAM, 5G technology, four rear cameras, and more. Samsung will be saving the best camera tech for the Galaxy S21 Ultra
Samsung is about to unleash its new family of Galaxy S21 smartphones, led by the flagship Galaxy S21 Ultra that will have the ultimate camera system of them all.
We have some new information thanks to leaker Evan Blass, who has shared some details through an infographic on the specs for Samsung's new Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphone. Samsung will be using a 108-megapixel main sensor, which will also be flanked by two 10-megapixel telephoto sensors and a 12-megapixel camera.
Samsung will use a regular 12-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and 64-megapixel telephoto sensor on the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ smartphones. We should expect 8K 30FPS and 4K 60FPS video shooting abilities on Samsung's new flock of Galaxy S21 smartphones, and some speedy horsepower with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 888 chipset.

Apple's future foldable phone could have self-healing display tech
Apple will eventually enter the foldable smartphone market, which is currently kinda dominated by Samsung wtih a couple of different foldable smartphones in the Galaxy Z Flip and new Galaxy Z Fold 2 smartphones.
According to a new patent filed by Apple to the USPTO, a future foldable iPhone could "heal" itself from regular scratches. Not huge dents, but think more of the everyday use of your phone and being put inside and outside of your pocket or placed face-down onto a table, etc.
The patent is titled "Electronic Devices With Flexible Display Cover Layers" and explains: "The flexible portion of the display cover layer may be interposed between first and second rigid portions of the display cover layer. The display cover layer may also include a layer with self-healing properties. The layer of self-healing material may be formed across the entire display cover layer or may be formed only in the flexible region of the display cover layer. The display cover layer may include a layer of elastomer in the flexible region of the display cover layer for increased flexibility".

Google announces its new Pixel 5, 90Hz OLED display, 5G tech from $699
Google has just announced its next-gen Pixel 5 smartphone, which is aimed at a more mainstream audience and not going spec heavy against its competitors in Samsung and Apple.
The new Pixel 5 smartphone rocks a large 6-inch OLED display with a native 2340 x 1080 resolution, with a super-smooth 90Hz refresh rate. This is same 90Hz refresh that the previous-gen Pixel 4 smartphones had, but now we have some bigger improvements.
First off we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor which delivers some great, but not flagship performance, while adding 5G connectivity. Inside, Google is using a large 4000mAh battery which should provide much better all-day battery use out of the Pixel 5 versus the Pixel 3 and Pixel 4 which weren't the greatest on battery life.

Samsung hosting Galaxy Z Fold 2 event on September 1, same as GeForce
Samsung has just announced that it will be detailing its latest foldable smartphone on September 1 at Samsung Unpacked Part 2, with the Galaxy Z Fold 2 being detailed in full after its initial tease at Samsung Unpacked on August 5.
We should expect absolutely everything to be unveiled on Galaxy Z Fold 2 on September 1 at 10AM ET, where it will talk about all of the amazing things inside of its flagship foldable smartphone for 2020.
We've already had some reviews go live, so we know that it is already a kick ass phone with what should be a gorgeous 7.6-inch 120Hz display that will blow the foldable socks off of the current-gen Galaxy Fold -- of which I'm a personal owner, and big fan of.

This custom Galaxy Note 20 Ultra costs $6260, a $4860 premium
Caviar makes some of the highest-end luxury custom smartphones in the world, with their new take on Samsung's just-released Galaxy Note 20 Ultra costing up to $6260.
Samsung charges around $1400 for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, so you're paying a $4860 premium for what exactly? Well, Caviar is using some exotic materials including red marble on the back panel, beautiful decorative framework on the back of the phone -- which uses rose gold covering.
The company is only making 396 of these smartphones in total, with 3 different series having 99 each -- starting at $5750 up to $6260. The website is light on details, but I don't think anyone paying $6000+ for a custom $1400 smartphone is going to care.
