First PS5 game could be revealed tonight during The Game Awards 2019

But it won't be a first-party game. Could it be Assassin's Creed: Ragnarok?

The first next-gen PlayStation 5 game could be unveiled during tonight's The Game Awards 2019.

According to Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad, we could see next-gen news at TGA 2019 along with a PlayStation 5 game reveal. There's a catch, though: It won't be a first-party Sony game like, say, the rumored Demon's Souls remake or Gran Turismo 7, but instead a third-party title from another publisher or developer.

I don't think we'll see much about the PlayStation 5 at the show--maybe a few snippets about the console's power or raytracing capabilities--from the developer. So what could the game be? There's tons of possibilities. Ubisoft has a bunch of games in the works for next-gen consoles (they expect to release 9 AAA games by 2022) and just about every other major dev is making titles for the PS5 and Project Scarlett too.

It could be Rocksteady's new game, the next Batman Legacy game centered around the Court of Owls, hell maybe even the new Viking-themed Assassin's Creed.

We'll just have to wait and find out...but you don't want to miss the show. The Game Awards 2019 begins at 8:30 PM EST.

Sony is expected to reveal the PS5 in a special event in February 2020. The console will release in Holiday 2020, and it may cost $499.
