We're finally here -- the first real photo of Sony's next-gen PlayStation 5 development kit. Our good friends at LetsGoDigital have been all over the 3D renders of the PS5, but now this is the real deal.

The first real image of the PS5 development kit shows that the renders I have been reporting on have been indeed real, showing that awesome V-shaped design that doesn't just look good, but it should also be much better for keeping the high-end internals cool.

You can see this is "Prototype 1" and is "Not For Sale" (can you imagine how much this thing would go for on eBay?) and it has the On/Standby, Reset, Eject, System Init, and Network Init buttons on the front. Don't expect the System Init and Network Init buttons on your PS5 when it launches in December 2020, however.

On the right we have a bunch of USB ports, too. I exclusively wrote a few days ago that Sony will have the PlayStation 5 launching in December 2020, but before then we'll see Sony detail its PS5 in full next February.
