LG unveils 2025 OLED evo TVs: AI everywhere, with new G5 OLED TVs with an awesome 165Hz refresh
LG has just unveiled its fleet of 2025 OLED evo TVs including its new flagship G5 series, with up to a huge 165Hz refresh rate, ready for big-screen gaming on NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 5090 32GB graphics card.
The new M5 series is the latest to use LG's in-house Zero Connect Box, which is a wireless link between your TV and your PC, gaming consoles, streaming boxes, and other external devices. LG will have its new M5 OLED available in 65-inch, 77-inch, 83-inch, and a monster 97-inch depending on your budget... the M5 series OLED TVs will have up to a 144Hz refresh rate.
LG's new G5 series OLED is even brighter, with the company boasting about its new Brightness Booster Ultimate technology that "enhances light control architecture and light-boosting algorithms to achieve brightness three times higher than conventional OLED models". It's not the brightness that has my heart, but the huge 165Hz refresh rate, something LG is also proud of as it's an industry first for a huge TV.

Current Backyard has just unveiled its new Model P Smart Pizza Oven at CES 2025, an all-electric smart pizza oven that can be used both indoors and outdoors, has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and costs just $599. Check it out:
The company says its new Model P smart pizza oven can reach a maximum temperature of 850F, of which is the temperature that can cook a Neapolitan-style pizza in two minutes. Current Backyard says that the internal design of its new smart pizza oven uses an algorithm alongside top-mounted graphite and under-stone circular calrod elements to ensure uniform heating across the pizza.
Current Backyard also says that the construction used also eliminates the need for their future smart pizza oven owners to rotate their pizzas while they're cooling, with a cordierite cooking stone helping with the even doneness, which helps to get that delicious crispy crust.
SK hynix will reportedly show off 16-Hi HBM3E memory chips for new AI GPUs at CES 2025
SK hynix plans to show off prototypes of its new AI memory chips at CES 2025 this week, with the tease of 16-Hi HBM3E memory that stacks 16 x DDR5 DRAM chips on top of one another, for up to 48GB HBM3E capacity.
SK hynix will indeed showcase its new 16-Hi HBM3E memory chips at CES 2025, with the highest capacity of up to 48GB. The new 16-Hi HBM3E memory chips started making waves in November 2024 when SK hynix said they were in development, with confidence that the yields would be as good as 12-layer HBM3E which is the most advanced model in mass production.
SK hynix's new 16-Hi HBM3E memory chips will be manufactured using an advanced mass reflow-molded underfill process, enabling the 16-layer stack while effectively controlling chip warpage and maximizing thermal performance. SK hynix has also said that in order to hit 20-layer stacks with the process without hybrid bonding, a next-generation technology for bonding stacked chips.
FromSoftware confirms Elden Ring: Nightreign won't have a beloved community feature
Elden Ring: Nightreign, which was surprise unveiled during The Game Awards 2024, will be extremely different than any other Soulsborne, or FromSoftware title.
For those that don't know, Nightreign will be strictly focussing on co-op gaming experience, as players won't be able to kill each other, there won't be any summons either for assistance with bosses, no invasions, and now recently confirmed by IGN Japan, no player messages. According to Nightreign's director Junya Ishizaki, players will still be able to see the ghosts of other players, but the ability to leave messages on the floor for other players to find has been removed from Nightreign.
But why? According to the game director the ability to leave Soapstone messages was removed due to the developers believing players won't have enough time to both read and write messages. Ishizaki states that each session will be approximately 40 minutes in length, and that given the nature of the session, players won't need to leave messages or read messages from other players. Soapstone messages are easily one of the biggest community aspects of Soulsborne games, as it gives players ways to assist other players with hints, informative messages, and, of course, trolls.
NVIDIA's next-gen GeForce RTX 5090 confirmed with 32GB GDDR7, new retail packaging spotted
NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 5090 has been rumored to sport an incredible 32GB of GDDR7 memory, but now it's been confirmed thanks to Inno3D.
The folks over at VideoCardz have the scoop on Inno3D's upcoming flagship GeForce RTX 5090 iChill X3 graphics card, a chunky 3.5-slot card that will keep that huge GB202 and massive amount of GDDR7 memory nice and cool. We only have a single picture to go by, with no shot of the power connector setup, but you can see that it says 32GB GDRR7 memory on the box.
NVIDIA's flagship ultra-enthusiast GeForce RTX 5090 will feature the GB202 GPU with the full 21,760 CUDA cores (and the first GeForce GPU to sport over 20,000 CUDA cores). We'll have 32GB of ultra-fast GDDR7 memory on a 512-bit memory bus and 1.79TB/sec of memory bandwidth, at a 575W TDP.
Robotic vacuum cleaners now have an arm to help pick up your dirty laundry
The world of robotic vacuum cleaners is still evolving, and at CES 2025 a company has unveiled a new roomba that comes with a robotic arm designed to help clean up household rubbish.
The company Roborock has unveiled the Saros Z70, which will be debuting at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. The new robotic vacuum cleaner has already been demoed to select publications that report the arm does work as advertised, meaning its capable of picking up items such as socks, rubbish, etc, but it's unfortunately extremely slow at completing the task.
The Verge reports the Saros Z70 arm takes approximately 1 minute to pick up and move an item in its way. Additionally, the publication reports the arm is only capable of picking up specific items, which currently are socks, tissues, small towels, and sandals that weigh under 300 grams. Roborock said that more items will be added to the list of items the Saros Z70 is capable of picking up, but the company didn't give specifics on if the total weight of the item would be increased.
Samsung won't use own chip or RAM inside Galaxy S25: Qualcomm Snapdragon, Micron LPDDR5 instead
Samsung's next-generation Galaxy S25 smartphones are expected to see the South Korean firm move into the warm harms of processor competitor Qualcomm, using its new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor over its in-house Exynos 2400.
Not only is Samsung using its competitors' processor but it's also using its competitors' RAM with rumors swirling that the Galaxy S25 smartphones will use LPDDR5 memory from US-based Micron. In some recent Galaxy S25 benchmarks that turned up on Geekbench, the chip inside has a single score of 2986 points and 9355 points in multi-corer results.
The chip inside of the Galaxy S25 tested had its first 6 corers clocking in at 3.53GHz, while the other 2 corers clocked at a faster 4.47GHz. The information from the Geekbench run show Samsung's next-gen Galaxy S25 smartphone running a Qualcomm Arm-based processor (at least for the international model), while the international model of the Galaxy S24 used Samsung's in-house Exynos 2400 processor, the new Galaxy S25 is a full shift into the world of Snapdragon chips.

SpaceX to deploy model next-gen Starlink satellites on its new Starship launch
SpaceX is making some big upgrades to its Starship test flight program, with the next flight to test payload deployment for the first time ever, and will launch new Starlink satellites into space.
These new model spacecraft will travel on the same trajectory as the upper stage aka Starship, and will splash down into the Indian Ocean. The new V3 satellites will be the first-ever payload that Starship flies, as SpaceX has been using its Falcon 9 rocket to get Starlink satellites into space, but that changes with this new Starship launch and the next-gen V3 satellites.
The new V3 satellites are reportedly much heavier than the current V2 Mini spacecraft, but Starship has an insane amount of payload capacity, making it far easier to strap in 60 x V3 satellites per Starship launch, adding 60Tbps capacity to the Starlink network each time. Each V3 Starlink satellite has 1Tbps of downlink speed, and 160Gbps of upload capacity, which is an upgrade of 10x the downlink speed, and 24x the uplink capacity compared to SpaceX's current-gen V2 Mini satellites.
