Capcom wants to strategically tap its wealth of IPs for re-releases, remasters, and sequels, but it may not have to manpower to do so.
In a recent interview with Japanese publication Toyokaizei, Capcom President and Chief Operating Officer Haruhiro Tsujimoto confirms the company will pursue revitalizing dormant franchises, and we may see classic and even retro games make a resurgence. "I want to proceed with the restoration of dormant titles, but there are many problems that I have to deal with," Mr. Tsujimoto said.
Capcom's president goes on to iterate that the company is busy doing lots of things at once, including working on IPs, sequels, mobile games, and analyzing data--all on top of trying to find ways to resurrect old IPs.

Is Capcom unsure about Nintendo Switch?
Capcom, who's Monster Hunter series is one of the best-selling franchises on Nintendo's 3DS handheld, may be unsure about supporting its new Switch handheld-console platform unless its newly released Street Fighter game performs well.
In a recent interview with Japanese games publication Toyokezai, Capcom President and Chief Operating Officer Haruhiro Tsujimoto discussed the company's future plans in regards to Nintendo Switch support. "As far as the Nintendo Switch, we released Ultra Street Fighter II in May, so we will consider our response [to the platform] while looking at the situation."

AMD trademarks Kyzen, Aragon, Promethean & CoreAmp
When we first reported that AMD would be calling its now current-gen processors Ryzen, the name just didn't stick at first - but here we are, with a slew of Ryzen processors that are starting to make Intel squirm.
But according to a new trademark filing, it looks like AMD is working on new products called Kyzen, Aragon, Pharos, Promethean, Zenso, and CoreAmp. All of these product names were trademarked in March, with a few of them already released. What can we expect from these new, interestingly named AMD products?
Well, Kyzen sounds just like Ryzen - so maybe this is a new CPU from AMD, or maybe even a new APU. I have a 'cryo' feel from Kyzen, so maybe we're looking at a heavily overclockable Ryzen processor that will be released as Kyzen? Who knows. Next up we have Aragon - very Lord of the Rings. Promethean will most likely end up as a chipset, as AMD named their Ryzen chipset Promontory - with Promethean being very close to that.

Oukitel announces K10000 Pro with 10,000 mAh battery
Oukitel has announced its new edition to the K series - the K10000 Pro. The phone is the successor to the K10000, launched back in 2015.
The K10000 Pro comes with an insane 10,000 mAh battery, same as its predecessor. Back in 2015, when Oukitel launched the K10000, the company said that it could fully charge three iPhone 6s Plus units and still have 10% battery life left.
Considering the battery size, the phone is a bit bulky, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's ugly. The K10000 Pro has a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 display with capacitive navigation keys embedded below it.

MSI has the first graphics card with a USB Type-C port
MSI is stepping into some interesting territory with the tease of its upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X 11G with a USB Type-C port, making it the world's first graphics card with a USB Type-C port. The reasoning? I really don't know.
MSI explains: "MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GAMING X 11G features Pascal-powered graphics and MSI's exclusive TWIN FROZR VI Thermal Design to deliver cool and quiet gaming graphics with unprecedented performance and power efficiency. With a revolutionary USB Type-C, the interface support is even more flexible".
I really don't know what MSI is going for here, but the only reason I can think of is that it's just one of those 'because we can' moves. I don't see the point of a USB Type-C connector on my graphics card, but there would be some prosumers that might use the USB Type-C connector on it, especially if their motherboard didn't have one on-board - so maybe I could charge my Galaxy S8 on it? Yay?

Intel Core i9-7900X benchmarked: 10C/20T @ 4.3GHz
Intel is preparing its 10C/20T processor to directly compete against AMD's Ryzen 7 1800X and their upcoming ThreadRipper CPUs that will feature 16C/32T of CPU power, but Intel could have it in the bag with its Core i9-7900X.
According to new benchmarks, the Core i9-7900X will be clocked at 3.3/4.3GHz for base/boost, respectively. This is a huge deal for Skylake-X, as the IPC performance at 4.3GHz and 10C/20T of power should pummel every other CPU into dust. Better yet, SiSoft's benchmark picked up the CPU as 4.0GHz base clock and 4.5GHz boost, which would be absolutely insane - especially for a 10-core processor.
We should expect 13.75MB of L3 cache, 1MB L2 cache per core (10MB total), and a 175W TDP for the upcoming Core i9-7900X. We should expect Intel to unleash its new Skylake-X parts at Computex next week, alongside the new X299 chipset and a slew of new motherboards.

Intel next-gen Xeon: 59% faster, up to 6TB Optane RAM
Intel has been on the CPU offensive since AMD launched their new Ryzen platform, and now we're hearing about their next-gen Xeon Scalable Platform, otherwise known as Cascade Lake.
Cascade Lake was shown off during the SAP Sapphire conference, with Intel teasing that its next-gen platform will arrive in 2018. Cascade Lake-SP is the Skylake-SP refresh, with Intel tapping the 14nm+ node. Cascade Lake will support up to a mammoth 6TB of Optane DIMMs, which is a huge plus for Intel.
Intel has teased: "Intel persistent memory will allow users to improve system performance dramatically by putting more data closer to the processor on nonvolatile media, and do it in an affordable manner. This will truly be a game-changer when it comes to the way applications and systems are designed".

Facebook Live goes social with Live videos with friends
Facebook Live continues to evolve, with the social networking giant making some big changes to Live video that will make it much, much more social.
Facebook has announced Live Chat with Friends, and Live With features for Facebook Live videos. As TechCrunch points out, comment streams on popular Live videos are a gigantic mess, especially when there are hundreds and sometimes thousands of people typing comments at once, with Facebook saying there are ten times as many comments for Live videos than there are on normal videos.
There is a better way of dealing with this, so Facebook is getting you chat with friends while you're both watching Facebook Live videos. You can create a private chatroom where you can invite whoever you want, which is a great way of Facebook making Live video a much more personal experience. There's also a new feature that lets you go live with another person side-by-side, which is going to be great for interviews and collaborations.

Unity valued at $2.8 billion
Following its most recent $400 million investment, Unity Technologies is now valued at $2.8 billion.
Unity, whose video games toolset and engine powers countless games across all platforms, has boosted its value by 86% since last summer by securing more investment capital, The Wall Street Journal reports. This means the San Francisco-based games technology company is now valued at a total of $2.8 billion.
Like Crytek with its CryEngine, Unity's games-making tools, assets, and engine are much more lucrative and profitable thank the company's actual games. In fact, Unity affirms that its engine powers "one-third of the current 1,000 top-grossing free-to-play games" across mobile, consoles and PC. That means Unity powers about 333 out of 1,000 of today's most popular F2P games, including Pokemon GO.
New Dragon Age game could be big-budget, not RTS spinoff
I originally predicted that BioWare's new Dragon Age game would be a spinoff like a Dragon Age Tactics spinoff or maybe even a card game like Gwent, but signs point to the new project being a fully-fledged triple-A sequel RPG instead.
I've been reporting on BioWare's new Dragon Age game for over a year now, and throughout that time my speculations and predictions have changed. Now with Eurogamer's recent interview with Sunless Sea writer Alexis Kennedy, who's helping BioWare write a portion of the new Dragon Age game, my predictions have changed again.
Kennedy affirms that the new Dragon Age game will have full voice-acting like traditional games in the series, as well as quests, and he'll actually be writing dialog and plot points for the quests in his "particular section of the game." Seeing as Dragon Age is typically separated in multiple acts with different regions as the stage for continued quests, this serves as possible evidence of a full Dragon Age game.

LeEco's crash in the US leaves hundreds unemployed
Chinese smartphone manufacturer LeEco has announced that they will cut over 300 jobs at its US business, which is around 70% of its local force.
The cuts are being made to increase the company's investments in its home market. Last year, Jia Yueting said that the expansion to the US market had been too quick and costly.
The company made a bold entry into America, but they failed to market itself appropriately, which resulted in this situation. Additionally, they failed to secure additional funds to continue growing the US operations at their current capacity which led to the layoffs.

Tekken 7 PC requirements revealed
Bandai Namco has revealed Tekken 7's PC spec requirements, and they're pretty interesting.
Tekken 7 marks the very first time the fighting franchise crosses over to PC, and Bandai Namco has put lots of effort into ensuring the game runs smoothly on the platform. While we're not sure if Tekken 7's frame rates will be uncapped, we do know the game will have native 4K textures and can at least run at 4K 60FPS on an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080. If you hadn't noticed, Bandai Namco has teamed up with NVIDIA for Tekken 7.
Tekken 7's PC requirements are a bit strange and indicate the Unreal Engine 4-powered fighter is quite RAM intensive. You'll need at least 6GB of RAM to run Tekken 7, but you can skate away with an Intel Core i3-4160 and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or GTX 750Ti with 2GB of VRAM. Tekken 7 will be a DirectX 11 game and it takes a whopping 60GB of installation space. Recommended specs aren't too harsh either: Bandai Namco wants you to have 8GB of RAM, an Intel Core i5-4690, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 equivalent.
