Animal Crossing: New Horizons won't feature cloud saves
E3 2019 - Being apart of the Nintendo Switch Online program gives users the opportunity to utilize cloud saves, but that depends on the game of course.
According to an interview with a french game site, Gamekult on the upcoming sequel to Animal Crossing, Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The games director and producer, Aya Kyoguku and Higashi Nogami, respectively, discussed the games cloud save support. Nogami said that "New Horizons will not be compatible with cloud backups to avoid manipulating time" and that stopping time manipulation is pivitol because its one the games "founding concepts of the series".
Amiibo support was also discussed, Kyogoku chimed in and said "given the number of cards and figures available, we obviously think New Horizons will be compatible with amiibo, but I can not tell you more about this compatibility at this stage of development". If you are interested in checking out more information for Animal Crossing: New Horizons check out our post regarding the released gameplay trailer here. Cyberpunk 2077 footage from E3 won't be shown until PAX West
I had a meeting on the morning after the AMD Next Horizon Gaming event at E3 2019 to go to an exclusive viewing of Cyberpunk 2077, something I could never deny. We were escorted to a private room where developer CD Projekt RED had rigged, dipped in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. It looked amazing. I've got some photos below of it. I'm going to write a more detailed article with more photos of my visit, and a look at the exclusive jacket they gave as a VIP present.
The footage I saw was absolutely amazing and something I wish CDPR had shown off to the world during or after E3 2019, but it seems the developer is holding the 50-minute gameplay video of Cyberpunk 2077 close to its chest.
According to notorious industry leaker shinobi602, the extended gameplay footage of Cyberpunk 2077 from E3 2019 "won't be made public until after Gamescom 2019" which takes place August 20-24, so we can expect PAX West which kicks off August 30 and runs through to September 2. Maybe we might see a slightly extended look of Cyberpunk 2077 at Gamescom, but it seems the full clip will be shown off just after.

ASUS TUF X570 Plus and Pro X570-ACE boards spotted
There have been some new leaks on the next-gen X570 line up of motherboards from ASUS by Vietnamese site NguyenCongPC.vn which has some early reviews up on the ASUS TUF X570-Plus Wi-Fi and ASUS Pro WX X570-ACE motherboards.
ASUS will position its TUF Gaming and PRIME motherboards underneath the ROG Strix branding, whille ROG sits on top of the pyramid for the enthusiasts and AAA gamers... something we've learned from the early reviews.
Starting with the ASUS ROG X570-Plus Wi-Fi we have a nearly-packaged board with a slick design thanks to its black and yellow theme throughout. It's not too much, but it is enough. We have a single PCIe 4.0 x16 slot while the other PCIe 4.0 slot is just x4 electrically, something found out in the review. Another note is that the VRMs on the board are "designed for a 12+2 circuitry but are actually being controlled by the ASP1106GGQW in a 4+2 configuration with 4 real phases, you'll find this controller on many B class motherboards".

STALKER 2 will NOT have battle royale, possibly ray tracing
Just as I finished watching HBO's hit show Chernobyl, which was fan-effing-fantastic by the way, we're finding out some new info on STALKER 2 finally, with developer GSC GameWorld talking details about the game during an interview with YouTuber 'Antiscnaps'.
In the video GSC GameWorld says that they will not include a battle royale mode, which I think is a good idea, and that the team is using the latest and greatest technology to build the game so that it looks "really modern". The original STALKER was one of the most-hyped games of its generation and was considered like Crysis when it came to pushing the graphical envelope on the PC.
STALKER 2 takes in the steps of its predecessor and its trilogy of games in Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat. The developer hasn't confirmed whether STALKER 2 will support ray tracing in any form, but if the original is anything to go by not including ray tracing would be a mistake.

A new NVIDIA Shield TV teased, is this the SUPER Shield TV?
It looks like we can expect a next-gen NVIDIA Shield TV to be announced soon, as a new version of the popular Android-powered TV box has appeared on the Google Play Developer console.
NVIDIA's purported next-gen Shield TV has a codename of 'mdarcy' which will be powered by Android 9 'Pie' and in order to continue things in the right direction with hardware codenames, the current Shield TV codename is 'darcy'. The new Shield TV in its current state has the same hardware, meaning it'll be powered by the Tegra X1 T210 SoC but I'm sure that's a placeholder right now and will be changed.
Personally, I'd like to see a new SUPER Shield TV as NVIDIA is pushing its new GeForce RTX SUPER graphics cards in the coming weeks. A new SUPER-powered Shield TV would be great to see, especially with Android 9 Pie and some new features that I'm sure NVIDIA has up its sleeve for the future of Shield TV going into 2020, and beyond.

Huawei follows Samsung in delaying its Mate X foldable phone
All of the hype of foldable smartphones has really folded into its own black hole, with Samsung retracting its Galaxy Fold and pushing the launch... while now competitor Huawei has folded up its Mate X launch plans, too.
The news of the Mate X delay comes directly from a Huawei spokesperson who talked with CNBC who said: "We don't want to launch a product to destroy our reputation". Huawei will now launch its Mate X foldable smartphone in September, so it can test the design more and not roll into the issues that Samsung faced with its retail-facing Galaxy Fold fiasco.
Huawei unveiled the Mate X back in February with major hype mode enabled, and it did -- and still does, look awesome. But the Huawei spokesperson confirmed with CNBC that the company will be officially launching the Mate X in September as it will be doing "extra testing with mobile carriers around the world and developers to make sure their apps work when the device is fully unfolded".

Google teases Pixel 4 smartphone, ups the camera ante
It all started with an official tease from Google of the Pixel 4, and then there was a next-gen Pixel 4 spotted in the wild and posted up by 9to5Google.
The tipster sent the photo into 9to5Google, which looks identical to the official tease my Google. The company is ramping up the cameras on Pixel 4, with an interesting square camera array on the back of the Pixel 4 in both the official tease, and the tipster-submitted photo.
The rear of the Pixel 4 rocks two side-by-side camera lenses, with a flash underneath and then in the bottom right it looks like we can expect the microphone. The tease from Google is a surprise as the company doesn't usually reveal its Pixel smartphones until October... but as an owner and a huge fan of a Pixel 3 XL, I can definitely say it excites me.

Stadia is a game-changer for multiplayer, Google says
Google Stadia will benefit multiplayer-driven games the most, especially live service games like Destiny 2 with persistent worlds.
Google's new Stadia game-streaming service could revolutionize gaming forever. It beams higher-end games directly to your TV, phone, laptop or PC for a $10 a month subscription, and alleviates the need to buy expensive gaming hardware. It has some issues too, namely latency and connection requirements, plus you don't get to actually play games if the service ever goes offline. At E3 2019, Google talked up Stadia quite a bit and promised it'll open incredible new horizons for the games industry.
Stadia's flexibility and server power will arm devs with new ways to build multiplayer games, and offer ultra-low latency when specific games are hosted on Google servers.

Doom Slayer is Michael Myers mixed with Terminator, id says
Doom Slayer, the infamous rage-fueled, demon-smashing, one-man army who leaves utter obliteration in his wake, has his moments of humanity. But you have to squint and look past all the blood and guts to find them...and they're not always obvious.
Doom: Eternal is a video game first and a sprawling cinematic experience second. id wants to make sure you get your money's worth and have a good time more than it wants to immerse you in a faraway world. Part of that fun comes from not delving too far into Doom Slayer's personality. Sure we have a lot of lore and history behind the mythical Slayer, but who's behind the helmet? We never know why Slayer does what he does. Is he saving mankind, or does he just want to massacre demons?
id wants to keep you guessing, but if the devs had to pick, Slayer isn't a total unfeeling metal machine of death but more akin to a murderous rampager who has a few slivers of humanity. Doomguy is more like Michael Myers than Terminator, if you will.

Doom Eternal is built around entertainment, not immersion
Doom: Eternal was created to keep you entertained all the way through. From the first level to the endgame where you slay interstellar archangels from another dimension, id wants you to be engaged--but not in the online multiplayer sense.
id isn't creating an immersive, cinematic experience with Doom Eternal. It's not meant to be some grand sprawling affair into a dramatic, narrative story arc. As id says, it's a video game with a capital V, soaked in blood and violence. The next Doom puts fun and gameplay over immersion and it's all the better for it: it looks like a video game, walks like a video game, and talks like a video game, complete with insane action and thrilling chaos. All of these things are wrapped up in one focus: to keep you engaged in a singleplayer world that's there for your amusement.
"Engagement is a key word for us. No matter what you're doing, we really do try to make everything worth your time. The whole game is about being worth your money, worth your time, and worth your thought and your engagement," said executive producer Marty Stratton.

Alienware 55-inch OLED 4K 120Hz gaming monitor taken by UFO
Well, it's confirmed - Alex Jones was right, aliens exist and they have taken our government hostage. Under the dictatorship of President Putin controlling the entire elections they control the Trump administration. Trump personally signed an executive order today which classified the release of Alienware's hotly-anticipated 55-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor. Sorry, internet.
No seriously, news has just hit the internet that Alienware looks to have shelved the release of its 55-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor according to an Alienware executive that spoke with WCCFTech. During E3 2019 the site talked with an Alienware executive that said that the monitor was a "conceptual product" that might not be released, ever.
As someone who was personally so excited to grab a gigantic 55-inch 4K 120Hz OLED gaming monitor, and now Alienware has crushed my dreams. It would've felt like the perfect monitor of its kind and as a personal owner of a 27-inch 4K 144Hz, 32-inch 8K 60Hz, and 65-inch 4K 60Hz OLED owner... the Alienware 55-inch 4K 120Hz OLED gaming monitor would've been in a league of its own.

AMD X590 chipset: more PCIe 4.0 lanes, better overclocking
AMD is at least 12-18 months ahead of Intel when it comes to having PCIe 4.0 connectivity on its new X570 chipset, but now we're hearing the first rumbles of the higher-end X590 chipset and it sounds like a monster.
DRAM Calculator for Ryzen creator '1usmus' shared the teaser of an upcoming ASUS ROG motherboard that teases "X590 Coming Soon". The tweet was removed, but we now know of the existence of the X590 chipset which has us excited, especially when we consider what it will bring to the table above the already great X570 chipset.
There are a few things that the purported X590 chipset could bring -- such as more PCIe 4.0 lanes, and higher-end motherboards that support even higher CPU clock speeds by default. This makes sense as we are looking at a world with the Ryzen 9 3950X (16C/32T) with huge clock speeds out of the box.

Project xCloud is about choice, not replacing consoles
E3 2019 - Goole's new Stadia platform aims to squeeze consoles out by giving gamers a more accessible platform, but Microsoft's Project xCloud will sit firmly alongside Xbox consoles for the forseeable future.
Microsoft doesn't currently envision a path where streaming conquers consoles. Project xCloud, it's new cloud-streaming service that beams games to phones, laptops, PCs, and even consoles via the power of cloud server banks, doesn't spell doom for Xbox hardware. Microsoft's Phil Spencer is adamant that streaming won't be the best way to play games for a long time. It's more of an alternative or an extension to dedicated play.
"I'm not trying to tell people to stop playing console games, or stop playing PC games, or even to buy a second copy of a game so you can play it somewhere else. What I'm saying is that I like playing on Xbox LIVE, and when I'm away from my console or my PC, I want to continue playing my games. This is a convenience feature, a choice feature for you,"Xbox VP of gaming Phil Spencer said in a recent interview with Giant Bomb.

Fallout 76 gets 52-player battle royale mode
E3 2019 - Fallout 76 is getting a chaotic 52-player battle royale mode designed to re-engage the flagging community, and it could work.
With its new free Nuclear Winter expansion, Fallout 76 will soon turn into a post-apocalyptic battle royale deathmatch frenzy. The mode is actually creatively tied to gameplay lore, pitting 52-players in a free-for-all slaughterfest where the winner sits as the Overseer of Vault 51. Nuclear Winter throws you into an isolated map that's constantly shrinking as a nuclear firestorm edges closer and closer (similar to Battlefield V's Firestorm battle royale).
It's not all PVP though. There's a distinct PVE element to gameplay and you can even heal people around you with stimpaks. Monsters roam Nuclear Winter's map and range from small mole rats to hulking Scorch Beast bosses, basically transforming it into a kind of Warzone match. The mode stays true to the scavenger hunt mechanics of battle royale and gamers will have to scramble the wastes in search of resources, guns, ammo, and other goodies peppered throughout the map.
