Hitman dev's new IP: multiplayer game built on a 'brand new concept'
IO Interactive finally spills more details on its unannounced new IP, and the game appears to be an innovative multiplayer game with a fresh concept.
Right now Hitman developer IO Interactive is working on three projects: Hitman 3 DLC (and possibly another Hitman game), a new James Bond game codenamed Project 007, and a new IP. We've known about IO Interactive's new IP since 2017, but not much info has been gleaned--until now.
Following a new studio expansion, IO is currently hiring 21 people for the new project, which will be spear-headed by its Malmo, Sweden-based studio. The job listings show the game is in very early stages, though; the roles range from higher-level executive producers to technical and gameplay directors. One listing in particular reveals potential scope for the project.

Texas students created Snapchat group to buy black classmates for $1
Aledo high school students at Daniel Ninth Grade Campus located in Northern Texas set up a Snapchat group to pretend to sell their black classmates.
Screenshots of the Snapchat group revealed the group's name being changed from "Slave Trade" that showed emojis of a black man, a gun, and a white police officer to "[racial slur] Farm" and then to "[racial slur] Auction". Additionally, the screenshots reveal one person stating they would buy a peer for $100 and a second student saying they would spend $1 to buy a black person.
In other screenshots, it was mentioned that one student was "sold," and according to a report from Star-Telegraph, when Principal Carolyn Ansley found out a problem, she sent out an email mentioning that the Snapchat group was "an incident of cyberbullying and harassment." Parents that received this email voice their concerns over the lack of acknowledgment towards the blatant racism.

NVIDIA's refreshed RTX 3060 has new GPU, properly gimps crypto mining
NVIDIA looks to be getting serious with limiting the GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card and its crypto mining abilities, with a rumored new Ampere GPU that will permanently gimp crypto mining.
The new GA106-302 GPU would replace the current GA106-300 that is inside of GeForce RTX 3060 graphics cards, with the new GA106-302 based GeForce RTX 3060 having a totally new PCI Device ID which will completely throw away the ability of crypto mining through driver hacks and everything in between.
Once NVIDIA has these GPUs going out to AIB partners and the new GeForce RTX 3060 graphics cards are on shelves, which should be sometime in May -- you won't tell the difference. NVIDIA will not be detailing the difference between the GA106-300 and new GA106-302 variants, you would have to tear it apart to find out.

NVIDIA says its Ampere GeForce RTX 30 series its 'best launch ever'
Look -- you might have tried to buy one of NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards in the past 6+ months to no avail, but that doesn't mean NVIDIA is shouting from the rooftops at how good the Ampere launch has been.
NVIDIA said during its latest investor presentation that the Ampere GPU architecture was their best launch ever, seeing double the amount of end market sales of its new GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards. NVIDIA shows that in the first 18 weeks of the new Ampere GeForce RTX 30 series being launched that demand for cards was insane... and it has only gotten stronger.
When compared to the end market sales of the previous-gen Pascal and Turing GPU architectures, the new Ampere GPU architecture and kick ass GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards are wanted more than Pascal and Turing cards ever were in the first 18 weeks of their release -- but both of those cards also didn't have to contend with an out-of-nowhere, never-before-seen GPU shortage like we have witnessed through the last 6+ months.

Battlefield leaker: Battlefield 2021 isn't coming to last-gen consoles
Another day, another leak for Battlefield from insider Tom Henderson that says Battlefield 2021 won't be coming to last-gen consoles.
In a new tweet, Henderson said that he still hasn't heard "anything concrete" on whether the new Battlefield is coming to last-gen consoles. His theory is that Battlefield 2021 will not launch on the last-gen consoles and that will be "the biggest reason" that Battlefield 2021 will be on Xbox Game Pass on day one to "boost up player numbers".
If you look at it in another way, if these rumors are true then EA DICE has worked closely with Microsoft on Battlefield 2021 so I'm sure we'll see some Xbox-specific content for the game -- especially if it's going to be on Xbox Game Pass, that's going to inject a good chunk of gamers into Battlefield 2021 boosting up those player numbers.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition has a photo mode across entire trilogy
The new Mass Effect Legendary Edition has a fully-fledged photo mode that can be used across the entire trilogy, BioWare confirms.
BioWare is including a flexible and functional photo mode editor in the new Mass Effect remaster trilogy so you can capture all those iconic moments in glorious 4K. Apart from keeping gamers busy and cementing key moments in the games, the photo mode will help drive organic engagement as millions of players share screenshots across social media. This is kind of like unpaid advertising in a way, and is the first time in the Mass Effect series that an in-game photo capture has been included.
The dev team is clearly going all out with the Legendary Edition.

Outriders inventory wipe restoration won't require a patch download
Outriders just got a new patch that should prevent new inventory wipes from happening, and the devs share more plans on their big restoration of lost gear.
Outriders dev team People Can Fly just rolled out a new update that adds a three-step safeguard against future gear deletion. Everyone wants to know when they'll get their gear back, but the team isn't ready to do the mass restoration just yet. The plan is to fix the glitch to ensure gear can't randomly disappear before it flicks on the restoration switch and gives players back their lost items.
In a news update, the devs say the restoration process won't require any patches and will be a real-time, server-wide event:

Outriders dev plans mass restoration of lost inventory items
Outriders developer People Can Fly details its plan to restore lost inventory items, but there's a few trade-offs and the restoration won't be perfect.
Outriders really can't catch a break. First the game was plagued with disconnection errors, now the game is deleting whole inventories worth of items. Gamers are understandably angry about having their treasure hoards wiped out, and many players are quitting en masse.
Luckily People Can Fly is on the case and has a plan to solve the issue. The team says fixing and restoring lost inventory items is their top priority. The devs know who was affected, what they lost, and plans a huge restoration effort in the near future. There's just no exact ETA and only the most valuable items like epic and legendary gear will be replaced. The restoration won't roll back your current inventory though, and will just add your lost items to your existing stores.

Egypt seize Ever Given ship from owners over nearly $1 billion debt
It was only a few weeks ago the world's largest cargo ship, the Ever Given, blocked the Suez Canal in Egypt.
Now reports indicating that the ever given that has since been unblocked from the Suez Canal has been seized by Egypt authorities over the failure to pay I nearly $1 billion dollar debt. Since the Ever Given blocked the Suez Canal, it caused a catastrophic loss in revenue as a ship that would ordinarily travel through the Suez Canal couldn't. Additionally, the Ever Given caused damage to the waterway, and the equipment used to free it, combined with the labor time, increased the total amount of money lost.
Reportedly, The Ever Given has been seized by Egyptian authorities until the ever-given owners pay the $900 million debt. The figure that is reportedly owed to Egypt represents the total compensation for the six-day blockage of the Suez Canal. Osama Rabie, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), told Egyptian state television last week said, "The vessel will remain here until investigations are complete and compensation is paid. The minute they agree to compensation, the vessel will be allowed to move."
