The ASRock B850 Riptide WiFi provides the foundation for this week's prize bundle. Built around AMD's Socket AM5 platform, the motherboard supports Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 Series processors, giving the winner a wide range of CPU options when planning a new gaming system. Connectivity is another major part of the B850 Riptide WiFi's feature set. The motherboard includes WiFi 7 with Multi-Link Operation, Bluetooth 5.4, and Killer E3100 2.5Gb Ethernet. Its wired and wireless networking options give builders flexibility when connecting the completed system, whether it is positioned beside a router or elsewhere in the home.

The board also provides a front-panel USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C header capable of transfer speeds up to 20Gbps, two rear USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C ports, multiple Type-A connections, and BIOS Flashback. Audio is handled by a Realtek ALC4082 7.1-channel codec with Nahimic Audio support. The PG-850G complies with the ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards and is designed to handle power excursions of up to 220%. It includes a native 12V-2x6 cable for compatible graphics cards, removing the need for a multi-connector adapter when powering supported GPUs. ASRock gives the 12V-2x6 connector a dual-color design that makes it easier to see whether the plug has been inserted correctly. The cable also includes TempGuard protection, with a temperature sensor monitoring the connection to help protect the PSU and graphics card from excessive connector temperatures.

The PG-850G carries 80 PLUS Gold and Cybenetics Platinum efficiency certifications, along with a Cybenetics LAMBDA A+ acoustic rating. It uses a 135mm fluid-dynamic bearing fan and includes ASRock's iCOOL intelligent fan control mode, which allows the fan to stop during low and medium loads before activating when power consumption or temperature increases.

Its fully modular cable design means builders only need to install the cables required by their hardware, helping reduce clutter and improve cable management. Internally, the PG-850G uses Japanese capacitors and Infineon CoolMOS components, while a complete set of electrical protections helps protect the system during normal operation and more extreme power conditions.

The PSU also includes a switchable 5V Boost mode designed to compensate for voltage drops on the 5V rail under heavier loads. ASRock backs the PG-850G with a 10-year warranty, providing long-term coverage for the eventual gaming system. Together, the ASRock B850 Riptide WiFi and Phantom Gaming PG-850G provide a strong starting point for a modern AMD gaming PC.
