A team of physicists has managed to break the record for the coldest temperature ever recorded, and they did it with a quantum gas experiment.

For context, the coldest temperature that can be measured on the thermodynamics scale is -459.67 F, and for an object to reach that temperature, it needs to be stripped of all atomic motion and kinetic energy, which is currently impossible for scientists.

However, that doesn't mean researchers can't come close to absolute zero, as researchers aboard the International Space Station were able to record a temperature of 100 nanoKelvin or 100 millionths of a degree above absolute zero, per Interesting Engineering. The team, which now holds the record for the lowest temperature ever recorded, managed to reach a temperature of 38 picoKelvin or 38 trillionths of a degree above absolute zero.

Scientists have uncovered a fossil of what has now been deemed as a new sub-species of ancient sea life that was alive around half a billion years ago.

The new study was published in the Royal Society Open Science journal and details a large predatory arthropod recently dubbed Titanokorys. The new sub-species measured at 19.7 inches, which was considered very large when considering that most of the life in the ocean at that time was about the size of a pea. Researchers uncovered the fossils of Titanokorys from the Kootenay Nation Park located in the Canadian Rockies.

According to co-author on the paper and evolutionary biology Ph. D. student Joe Moysiuk from the University of Toronto, "Titanokorys is part of a subgroup of radiodonts, called hurdiids, characterized by an incredibly long head covered by a three-part carapace that took on myriad shapes. The head is so long relative to the body that these animals are really little more than swimming heads."

The new rumors are coming from Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, who has said that he also expects the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, new AirPods, a redesigned Apple mini 6, and iPad 9.

Gurman said: "M1X MacBook Pro: 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with high-end M1 chips, MagSafe magnetic charging, miniLED screens, and no Touch Bars are in the offing. After delays, look out for these to hit shelves in the next several weeks".

DEATHLOOP is now available on the PC and PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles, with some nice PC upgrades up its sleeve in the graphics and visuals departments.

Bethesda is behind DEATHLOOP with developer Arkane requiring a pretty hefty gaming PC if you want to have 4K 60FPS with Ultra settings. The PC requirements for 4K 60FPS Ultra settings is an Intel Core i9-10900K or AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT processor, 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card.

I can confirm that; running it right now on 4K at over 60FPS (and sometimes below it) with the graphics settings maxed out on an Intel Core i9-10900K and AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card. DEATHLOOP supports ray traced shadows, HDR, NVIDIA Reflex, and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution support.

The new Geekbench results have Samsung's new Exynos 2200 performing under the Exynos 2100 chip, but we are just looking at it in engineering sample (ES) form.

The latest rumor on the RDNA 2-based GPU in Samsung's new Exynos 2200 has it featuring 384 Stream Processors, with 6 Compute Units. The new Geekbench result has the GPU listed as the Samsung Voyager EVTA1, a codename that has been used before.

We already know Kojima wants to make an interactive horror film-game hybrid, and that he's working with Microsoft on a special cloud streaming experience. Now the auteur says he'd like to create something that shifts based on your actions, personality, and location. This might be possible using Microsoft's Azure-powered servers and powerful AI infrastructures with machine learning capabilities on the Xbox Series X/S consoles.

"I want to create a game that changes in real-time. Even though there are people of different ages and trades playing the same game, they are playing it in the same way. Instead, I want the game to change based on where that person lives, and that person's unique perspective," Kojima told Japanese publication Anan.

Lots of gamers like the look of ShiftUp's new PS5 exclusive Project Eve, and to keep morale high and commemorate the game's positive reception, company CEO Hyung-Tae Kim has purchased PlayStation 5 consoles for all of the studio's 260 employees. That's a lot of PS5s and amounts to nearly $140,000 with a 7% sales tax, but the consoles might be tax deductible. What a great way to reward your workers.

Right now ShiftUp is gearing up to push the PS5 to its limits with Project Eve using new Unreal Engine tech. The studio is hiring multiple developers in an effort to transition from mobile games into the mainstream AAA market. Based on Project Eve's gameplay we'd say the Korean dev is doing exceptionally well especially with its fluidity at 4K 60FPS.

Nearly five years into the console's lifecycle, Nintendo has officially cut the price of the base Switch by £20, or about £20 cheaper than launch MSRP.

Nintendo just made the first permanent price cut for the Nintendo Switch in Europe. The base 2017 and 2019 handheld-console hybrid now costs £259.99 in parts of Europe and the UK, down £20 from the previous £279.99 MSRP. This price drop is ahead of the new Switch OLED's launch later next month for £309.

In a statement to Eurogamer, Nintendo explains that it adjusted the price due to many factors, including time on the market, current sales rates, and exchange rates.

According to YouTuber Tronix Fix, Sony has baked in special custom firmware to cut off access to disc drives on the PlayStation 5 digital edition. To conduct the test, Tronix Fix took out a disc drive from a base PlayStation 5 console and soldered connector pins directly onto a PS5 digital edition's motherboard. Fun fact: The PS5 digital and disc version both have the same motherboard except the digital edition is missing connectors for a disc drive.

The transplanted drive actually powered up and spun a disc, but nothing showed on the screen, essentially confirming a disc-less PlayStation 5 can't be converted into a disc-playing console. Sony hasn't discussed whether or not the PS5's digital edition has custom OS firmware or not, but it makes sense as a way to discourage users from just fastening their own drives instead of buying the more expensive premium $499 PS5.

Sabrent didn't just make any ol' M.2 heat sink for the PlayStation 5, but a custom PS5-optimized heat sink that was engineered to keep the fast speeds and high temps of an NVMe SSD as cool as possible.

This is centered around the fact that Sony cools the M.2 slot inside of the PS5 with negative pressure, where Sony recommends gamers use their M.2 cover slot over their M.2 slot, because if you don't you will lose the negative pressure and the temperature will skyrocket. Sabrent notes that this spot is around 10C hotter than ambient temperatures -- if the M.2 slot is empty -- meaning that it really does need some good cooling to keep things under control when a super-fast 1TB, 2TB, or 4TB M.2 NVMe SSD is installed into the PS5.

Database leak lists Titanfall 3, Crysis 4, GTA remasters, FF9 Remake

Intrepid coder Ighor July was able to load up the full GeForce Now catalog with 18,000+ games, which reportedly include listings for a ton of unannounced and unreleased sequels like Titanfall 3, Crysis 4, Kingdom Hearts IV and many more.

GeForce Now database listings may have outed some of gaming's biggest upcoming titles. The contents of the database was uploaded to a GitHub repository and shows surprising games including Titanfall 3, Crysis 4, Half-Life 2 Remastered, Kingdom Hearts IV, Final Fantasy 9 Remastered, and even the GTA remastered trilogy. The titles are listed as games but they don't have Steam app ids, which is to be expected because they haven't been released yet.

The source of the info is a coder named Ighor July who was able to gain access to the full GeForce Now library, which also had direct listings for upcoming PlayStation exclusives like God of War (2018) and even a New Super Mario Bros Wii game (which Nintendo brought to the Shield TV exclusively for China).

Tesla hasn't slowed down in terms of new additions to its vehicles, and since 2019 the electric car manufacturer has reportedly been working on a new idea that involves laser beams and a windshield.

Electrek reports that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted Tesla the patent that's officially titled, "Pulsed laser cleaning of debris accumulated on glass articles in vehicles and photovoltaic assemblies". At the moment, there has been no word on when this new technology will be implemented into Tesla vehicles, but speculation is pointing towards the Cybertruck featuring this new technology as it didn't have any windshield wipers when it was unveiled back in November 2019.

SpaceX will be deploying Starlink satellites between Earth and Mars to provide broadband internet connection that will improve communication capabilities with the world's tallest rocket, Starship.

Starship is poised to be the transportation that will one day take humans to Mars. However, before Starship transports humans to Mars, it will first be used to take humans back to the Moon. Musk has said that once all testing is complete for Starship, it's expected that it will be used to take humans back to the Moon "probably" before 2024. Researchers are constantly searching the cosmos for star systems that have exoplanets that are similar to Earth, and now they may have found one.

Using the advanced Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), researchers were able to identify signals from the planetary system called L 98-59. The star system is located just 35 light-years from Earth, which is relatively close in terms of space travel. The star system has intrigued researchers as its believed to contain new worlds that have similar characteristics and compositions to Earth.

According to Diana Dragomir, an exoplanetologist at the University of New Mexico, "There was quite some detective work involved, and the right people were there at the right time." Adding, "But we were lucky, and we caught the signals, and they were really clear." The observation has marked a milestone for TESS.

NASA's main goal is to discover any signs of ancient life once existing on the Red Planet, and the Perseverance rover is there to find it. To find signs of ancient life, Perseverance must take core samples from rocks, and from those samples, researchers will derive the history of the environment and whether or not it may have once had the right conditions for life.

According to Ken Farley of Caltech and a project scientist for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, stated in a press release shared by NASA, "It looks like our first rocks reveal a potentially habitable sustained environment." NASA states that there were salt minerals found in the core samples and that these rock cores may have trapped tiny bubbles of ancient Martian water.

The news comes from the Inspiration4 website, which states that payload aboard the Crew Dragon capsule will feature a Kings of Leon NFT. The song "Time in Disguise" will be played throughout the mission and will be the first minted NFT to ever be played in orbit. Additionally, there will be 50 other NFTs also aboard the Crew Dragon, all of which will be digital artwork of the band.

As for the Inspiration4 mission, SpaceX will be taking the Crew Dragon capsule into orbit for a three-day trip. The team that will be going up is Shift4 Payments CEO Jared Isaacman, Hayley Arceneaux, Sian Proctor, and Chris Sembroski. Kings of Leon said, "We're honored to participate in this historic journey in an effort to raise money for St. Jude, and we're sending all our best to the crew of Inspiration4." A new study available on the pre-print server arXiv has suggested that researchers have detected mysterious radio signals coming from a galaxy's center.

The galaxy is called ASKAP J173608.2-321635, and according to the astronomers behind the paper, the object that is causing the radio signals is "a highly-polarized, variable radio source located near the Galactic Center and with no clear multi-wavelength counterpart." At the moment, researchers aren't sure what is causing the radio signals that are being detected by the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP).

However, researchers do know that radio signals aren't consistent as the object emits radio bursts for up to weeks at a time before stopping all radio signals for up to three months. While the origin of the radio signals is yet to be uncovered, researchers write that "increasing the survey cadence and comparing the results of this search to other regions will help [them] understand how truly unique ASKAP J173608.2-321635 is and whether it is related to the Galactic plane, which should ultimately help us deduce its nature."

Researchers performed a survey with the Very Large Array Sky Survey and noticed that there was a bright source of radio emissions coming from a star-forming galaxy located 480 million light-years away. Dillon Dong, a graduate student at Caltech and lead author on a paper, said, "Theorists had predicted that this could happen, but this is the first time we've actually seen such an event."

Researchers believe that a star killed itself in a fiery supernova explosion, leaving behind either a neutron star or a black hole. As the years went on, a neighboring star was pulled closer and closer to the black hole or neutron star, eventually becoming consumed by either. The star being consumed was violent as all of its material was thrown out into the space around it, eventually reaching the core of the star. With no more fuel to burn, the star went supernova, shooting out a flash of X-rays that researchers detected.
