Geralt debuting to Soulcalibur VI receives a showcase video
The very well known character from The Witcher series has acquired a behind the scenes video detailing his debut to the newest title in the Soulcalibur franchise, Soulcalibur VI.
Recently we have seen classic characters from the Soulcalibur series, such as Nightmare, receive the same treatment as Geralt has above. The famous monster hunter has members of CD Projekt Red to detail Geralts debut to the new title. Borys Pugacz Muraszkiewicz, Director of the English Adaptations, Sebastian Kalemba, Head of Animation and Marcin Momot the Community Lead discuss what they had to do to eject Geralt from The Witcher 3 and place him into Soulcalibur VI.
All of the team members from CD Projekt Red are making sure that Geralt plays exactly the same as he does in his own respective games. So players that are worried that Geralt will be butchered coming to Soulcalibur VI fear not, as CD Projekt Red will be taking very good care of their golden child.

Fortnite will soon get a guided missile taxi service, teaser
Epic Games is continuing the insane momentum of Fortnite by teasing more content to its playerbase, the new video shows what is to be future weapon added to the live game. Rocket riding taxi service incoming?
The below video shows a short cinematic of the weapon in use, it appears that the weapon will be player locked and when fired the missile will head directly for the target.
Of course this could be a subject of change as there is no known release date for the weapon it is hard to know its full capabilities as of yet. Judging from the below video, I would say that if this weapon contains a player lock feature it would most likely come with a considerable rarity drop rate as well.

Microsoft announce Sea of Thieves hits 2 million players
Yesterday, Rare released a massive patch for Sea of Thieves, today Microsoft have announced that Sea of Thieves has brought more than two million players to the game.
Microsoft have announced that Sea of Thieves has already taken the lead for best-selling Microsoft Studios first-party title on Windows 10. Not only does Sea of Thieves have quite an achievement in Microsofts books, but also streaming numbers for the newly released title is something to throw some recognition at as well. More than 100,000 players have streamed Sea of Thieves since its launch, this has resulted in more than 10 million hours watched.
As Sea of Thieves grows with its insane popularity, I hope to see Rare add a bit more content to the game. Rare didn't know that their title was going to be as popular as it has turned out to be, this resulted in problems arising within the game. On a positive note, Rare really are trying to keep players in the loop with the progression of their game, this is something i can really respect.

Luminous Productions' new games may have live services
The new Luminous Productions dev studio is indeed working on AAA games, but it's likely that some of these titles will have online-based live services (think Final Fantasy XV's online Comrades mode).
On the heels of Final Fantasy XV's major development milestones (releasing on PC, pushing the Luminous engine to new heights, etc) Square Enix recently opened up a new studio called Luminous Productions made up of key FFXV devs including game director Hajime Tabata and a portion of his team. This new studio will develop AAA games and other entertainment content and it's very likely that the powerful, proprietary Luminous games engine will power these titles. But it's just as likely that Square Enix will bake in live services into these future games to ensure a longer tail and stronger long-term revenues to boot.
While scouting Luminous Production's new website I saw some job openings that caught my eye. The studio is hiring a live services planner that will create, implement, and oversee the engagement-driving live services that will undoubtedly be incorporated in Luminous Productions' future games.

PUBG Mobile supports keyboard and mouse, emulators dominate
The recent discovery of keyboard and mouse support for PUBG Mobile through the use of an Android emulator has sparked an unfair advantage amongst the PUBG Mobile community.
PUBG Mobile already contains some pretty stiff controls, these controls hinder most players into performing actions much more slowly when compared to a keyboard and mouse. I suppose you could call them 'clever', but not fair players, have decided to see if PUBG Mobile works through an Android emulator on their PC. To their joy and everyone else in the games demise it works with keyboard and mouse support.
The above video shows a YouTuber named Shivaxi who has released video showing that is completely possible, he even admitted that this being possible on the mobile version of the game could result in other players thinking that he is "cheating."

Fortnite breaks some MAJOR YouTube gaming records
Fortnites massive popularity is hard to not notice as the game sky-rockets smashing records everywhere, now YouTube gaming content lead Ryan Wyatt has said that Fortnite has broken some YouTube gaming records.
The recent livestream that was conducted by Spanish YouTuber 'elrubiusOMG' recently broke the 1m concurrent viewers mark, this was more than the recently popular Drake and Ninja stream not to long ago. Wyatt address the recent Battle Royale tournament stream in his tweet, saying it has over "42M live views, and set a record for biggest single live gaming stream @ 1.1M concurrent."
This was not the only record that was broken, according to Wyatt "Fortnite holds the record for the most videos related to a video game uploaded in a single month EVER." This is massive achievement considering games with such of a craze as Minecraft, and the uploads that spawned from that, or even the COD: Modern Warfare 2 trickshot video days. Fortnite has beaten them all on a monthly comparison.

Rare pushes out a 19.53GB patch for Sea of Thieves
Rare has pushed out a massive update for the recently released Sea of Thieves, this updates includes numerous fixes around performance, lighting, movements and more.
In the developer update that contained a variety of different information regarding the future for Sea of Thieves: It was detailed by Executive Producer Joe Neate, that instead of spending more time reducing the size of the update they decided to just get the patchwork done and get it out there, then they will worry about the size for future patches.
Here is what Neate had to say on the patch size, "Our ideal scenario was that we got that patchwork done and we released a smaller patch, but we've made the decision to get that full game update [out there] because of all the fixes it's got which is going to improve the experience for everyone," he said, "but it is a full game size update ... you're going to be downloading the client again."

Sea of Thieves developers address current game problems
Rare have taken to their YouTube channel to release the first developer update detailing their progression through Sea of Thieves' problems.
Craig Duncan and Joe Neate run players through the current long list of problems that Sea of Thieves is facing. Neate discusses the some of the main issues that players have, and further details how the developers are on track to reprimand these problems and get the game on track to where it should be.
According to both Duncan and Neate the problems surrounding achievements was due to letting a massive influx of players on the servers once the game went live, this caused numerous problems. The developers decided to turn off the achievement feature so more players could enjoy the Sea of Thieves experience at once, simultaneously Rare has stored achievements server side for each player so no one misses out. This should result in players logging in and gaining multitudes of achievements at once throughout this week sometime.

Star Citizen crowd-funding hits $181m raised, new milestone
Since 2012 we have been watching the massive effort from Cloud Imperium Games to create Star Citizen, it certainly has grown since that time and now it has reached a new milestone, passing over $181 million raised.
Not only does Star Citizen, on a crowd-funding level have something to celebrate, but also another factor to throw some recognition at is their registered player count. The title has caused over 2 million players to register, hitting another milestone for the developer.

The new map features a 4 x 4 km area which will see shorter and faster paced games. The team over at PUBG Corp currently has plans to bring this new map to the test servers next month, they hope that bringing the map to players early will result in enough time to add the correct balancing fixes it will need for the live servers.
Check out the images below for a better look at the coming map. A side not when looking at the images is to keep in mind that the map is currently a work-in-progress, meaning that on release it will look much better than what is showcased here.

Fortnite livestream packed with over 1 million viewers
If you thought that the 650,000 concurrent viewers at its peak in the Fortnite livestream between Ninja and Drake was huge, that is nothing compared to the 1 million+ that a Fortnite stream on YouTube achieved.

Atari VCS performance akin to higher-end laptop
Atari has released a bunch of new-ish info about the Atari VCS all-in-one connected gaming system set top box, confirming a lot of details we already knew--and unveiling some fresh clues.
As we already predicted, the Atari VCS (formerly codenamed the Ataribox) is a sort of nexus for different activities. It's really meant to be a set-top box for the living room in the same way as Microsoft's original Xbox One, combining a bunch of different functionalities into a single device. But unlike the Xbox One, which is a games console, Atari touts that the Atari VCS is a fully-functional Linux-based computer that will basically do everything consumers want it to, from streaming music and video, gaming, and even running social media apps. As we also predicted the Atari VCS will connect to an official Atari storefront UI that will sell games and other content for consumers to download. Content on the store will include more classic Atari games (in addition to the old-school retro games already pre-loaded on the device) along with third-party and indie titles. Which third-party AAA or AA games will be available on the storefront, however, have yet to be announced.
While Atari still hasn't revealed exact specifications for the device (the company notes exact hardware specs and capabilities are in development flux) the company has said the Atari VCS will run on a customized x86 AMD Radeon processor. Tom's Hardware hinted that the box's gaming power may be closer to a Switch than an Xbox One or PS4, but Atari COO of Connected Devices Michael Arzt now says the system-that's-not-a-console's performance is "comparable to a higher-end PC laptop."

PUBG developer talks server region locks in future update
The latest update to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is coming, with the developers recently opening up about concerns over ping in matchmaking which would see a future PUBG update include server region locks.
PUBG Corp said in an announcement today: "One of the solutions we are considering is operating servers so that only those players who reside in that region can connect and play. These servers will be made invisible to players residing in other regions. But, at the same time, if a player in an exclusive server region forms a team with a player from another region, they can connect to and play on any of the servers available to either of them".
The developer continued: "Through this new approach we are aiming to provide a better gameplay experience as it will improve network issues and help with linguistic barriers. We are going to run a limited test of this approach as more detailed research and analysis should come before global application".

The Darkness II is free on Humble Bundle Store
Before it made Warframe, Digital Extremes made some awesome games such as The Darkness II, and if you haven't experienced it yet you can grab it online for free.
Continuing its tradition of awesomeness, the Humble Bundle Store is giving away free copies of 2K Games' brutal shooter The Darkness II...but be sure to act fast as copies are apparently limited on a first come first served basis. And what's more the game will only be free for the next 48 hours so jump on it ASAP.
I've yet to try the game myself but I've heard nothing but good things about the sequel and the series as a whole...so you better believe I grabbed my copy already.
