But there was a little more overclocking action at the show care of Level1Techs' Wendel, Bryan from Tech Yes City, and a team of expert overclockers from ASRock.

The mission? To push the 16 performance cores in Intel's new Sapphire Rapids Xeon CPUs to new heights, 7.2GHz to be exact. Paired with the ASRock W790 motherboard, the workstation CPU was able to hit a stable speed of 6.1GHz, where it managed to deliver an impressive Cinebench R23 score of around 46,000. This easily trumps the Intel Core i9 13900K score of around 38,000.

Mark Walters, a radio host, is attempting to sue ChatGPT developer OpenAI over its chatbot publishing information that falsely accuses Walters of embezzlement and implicates him in a court case.

Fred Riehl, the editor-in-chief of a gun website, went to OpenAI's ChatGPT for information on the case The Second Amendment Foundation v. Robert Ferguson. Riehl asked the AI-powered chatbot to provide a summary of the course case, which he said it did quite quickly, spitting out a summary that directly states involvement by Mark Walters, a Georgia radio host that, according to ChatGPT, embezzled money from The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF).

Walters filed in Gwinnett County Superior Court on June 5th, claiming that OpenAI has acted negligently and has "published libelous material regarding Walters". Riehl asked ChatGPT to provide more information on Walters, and OpenAI's chatbot began giving details, such as providing a legal complaint filed by the founder and executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF). This complaint was lodged against Walters, who was identified as the SAF's treasurer and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Space is a strange and interesting place, and while scientists can look millions of light-years into the universe's distant past, sometimes they don't have to look very far to start stretching their heads.

A team of astronomers discovered an object using the Pan-STARRS observatory in Hawaii dubbed 2023 FW13 in March of this year and believed it was orbiting Earth. The scientists first thought this object was orbiting Earth, but after follow-up observations, it was confirmed that it was actually orbiting the Sun and was an asteroid. According to the space news website Space & Sky Telescope, this object is an asteroid that is orbiting the Sun at a very similar pace as Earth, with our planet playing no role in the motion of the object or its orbit.

Alan Harris, a scientist specializing in near-Earth objects at the Space Science Institute, spoke to Sky & Telescope and said that considering the newfound characterization of the asteroid, it's technically called a "quasi moon", or a "fake moon" as its not associated with Earth other than by chance. So, what makes this fake Moon special? Typically, quasi-moons only trail planets for several decades before separating out into other regions of space.

Lenovo will be bringing out two brand new displays that are designed specifically for the company's range of Tiny-in-one compact PCs, and as appropriately named, these displays are called ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One 22 Gen 5 and ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One 24 Gen 5.

Starting with the smaller model, the ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One 22 Gen 5 is a Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology, at a 60Hz refresh rate. Additionally, Lenovo has thrown in a built in webcam, microphone, stereo speakers, a max brightness of 250cd/m², a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and a monitor head with dimension of 72.8x339.1x489.3mm. The display supports height adjustment, is capable of tilting, swiveling, and can be rotated.

As for the ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One 24 Gen 5, the specifications are same except for the panel being slightly bigger. Monitor head dimensions are as follows, 72.8x367.6x539.8mm. So, how are both of these new displays designed for Lenovo's compact mini PCs? Each of these displays enable users to effortlessly attach their Tiny series PC to the back of the display. This connectivity is cable-free through the inclusion of an insertion made on the back of this display.

Both the FTC in the United States and the CMA in the United Kingdom believe the $68.7 billion Microsoft-Activision merger should be blocked. This has led to significant push-back from executives, past trade commissioners, UK ministers, law experts, and a number of other pundits across the intersecting worlds of industry mergers and interactive entertainment. The FTC's decision also caused former Republican commissioner Christine Wilson to retire from the FTC, leading Wilson to write a scathing op-ed piece that in term led to the U.S. House Oversight Committee to probe the FTC on allegations of "abuses of power."

Some went so far as to allege collusion between the the FTC and CMA, including Activision-Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, who suggested the CMA had been "co-opted by FTC ideology" and was being "used as a tool by the FTC."

Two galactic forces of nerdery collide in the best way possible as Blizzard announces a collaboration with Spawn creator Todd McFarlane's toy company.

McFarlane Toys and Blizzard Entertainment have signed a deal to produce a series of high-quality action figures based on the Diablo and Warcraft franchises. The action figures will be specifically based on World of Warcraft and the cartoonish Warcraft Arclight Rumble games, but it's possible the Diablo collaboration will include characters from all four games. It's worth noting that NECA had previously made Diablo III figures, and these are typically more expensive than McFarlane figures.

The iPad continues to try and convince the world that it's a real laptop replacement and in many ways, it's proven that to be the case. But so far it's been found lacking in one key way - there was no way to connect a proper webcam.

Sure, the iPad comes with a webcam built in but that's no good if you want the camera angle to be different or, heaven forbid, you just want a really good image out of a proper webcam. But that's all changing when the iPadOS 17 update arrives later this year.

That's because Apple is finally adding USB webcam support to the iPad with the release of iPadOS 17. The update is expected to ship in September, so there is still a little time to wait. But when iPadOS 17 lands podcasters around the world will rejoice.

The iOS 17 update looks set to make a huge improvement to the App Store and it's one that many of us had forgotten that we even wanted in the first place.

The change is the addition of a download timer, one that will give people an idea of how long it will take to complete a download from the App Store. The new timer will appear beside the button that can be pressed to stop a download and only appears on downloads that are relatively large. Downloads that complete within a couple of seconds won't bother displaying a timer, it appears.

The change was noted by Mastodon user Matt Birchler and is also likely to apply to the iPadOS 17 update, although that is yet to be confirmed. However, the same feature hasn't made the jump to the Mac App Store, at least not in the first developer beta of macOS 14 Sonoma.

It's official: Street Fighter 6 is a knockout hit that continues Capcom's powerful combo streak.

Capcom has recently confirmed sales figures for Street Fighter 6, and the numbers show that the legendary franchise has come back swinging. Capcom says that Street Fighter 6 has managed to sell 1 million copies in its first weekend on the market, which pushes franchise sales past 50 million.

"Even today, more than 35 years since Street Fighter first debuted, the series still enjoys immense popularity across the globe with cumulative sales for the series totaling over 50 million units worldwide," Capcom said in a press release.

Apple announced the tvOS 17 update as part of the WWDC 2023 event on Monday, June 5. And while there were many more exciting things to talk about - we're looking at you, Vision Pro and 15-inch MacBook Air, the tvOS 17 update does have one notable improvement that some Apple TV owners have been crying out for for years now.

That improvement wasn't actually called out by Apple during the event, but it was confirmed via a press release that was later published in the company's newsroom. The feature in question? Support for third-party VPNs which means that people will be able to connect to virtual private networks using their Apple TV for the first time.

Why is this such a big deal? Apple sells it as being a benefit to enterprise and education users who want to connect to their private networks, but the real improvement here is for those who use a VPN to access content that isn't normally available in their part of the world. A VPN makes that possible, but the lack of VPN app support on the Apple TV has so far made the set-top box useless in that regard.

Apple's Vision Pro is now a real thing after the company announced it during the WWDC 2023 event on June 5. The headset itself looks stunning and the demonstrations that Apple shared made the software experience appear just as impressive. But that price has already given plenty of people cause for pause. And now there might be even more sticker shock on the way as well.

The size and shape of Apple's Vision Pro headset will mean that those who normally wear glasses will have to take them off to wear it. Apple and Zeiss have already confirmed a collaboration that will see the lensmaker build special prescription lenses for the Vision Pro headset without telling anyone how much they will cost. Now, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says that they could cost as much as $600, although it has to be said that this appears to be a guess on his part.

That being said, Gurman does suggest that there might be a chance of Apple helping to subsidize that price slightly, although it seems unlikely. Apple has repeatedly said that Vision Pro will start at $3,499 which means that there is scope for the price to increase somewhat. It's possible that these Zeiss lenses are where that will happen, but we'll need Apple to confirm that.

When Apple announced the macOS Sonoma update during its WWDC 2023 event on June 5, it previewed a number of new features that are going to be available to Mac users later this year. However, not all of them will be available to everyone.

That's because some of the macOS Sonoma features won't work on some Macs - specifically, those that are running Intel chips.

While a macOS update being made available to more Macs is always a good thing, it seems that reducing the functionality on some of them is the only way that Apple could make that happen. And while it isn't yet clear why Apple silicon appears to be required for these specific features, this could be an indication that it's only a matter of time before Intel Macs no longer receive big macOS updates at all.

Apple developer accounts have historically cost $99 to get a hold of, but for that, you also get access to Apple's developer relations teams, resources, tools, and, of course, beta releases. Those beta releases include macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS. Now, it seems that everyone can download those betas free of charge instead.

The news means that people who register for a free developer account will be able to download Apple's latest and greatest developer beta updates without having to pay the usual $99 fee. What's more, it also means that they won't have to wait for Apple to release updates to the public beta channel, either. In the case of the iOS 17 beta, that was expected to involve a weeks-long wait. Now, people can download iOS 17 right now - and they can do it for free.

The change was first spotted by iSoftware Updates with Apple updating its developer website documentation to outline the difference between a free developer account and one that will continue to cost $99 per year.

The Galaxy Unpacked event being held in Seoul will focus on the foldable category, with reports indicating that Samsung is preparing to unveil its next-generation Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Samsung announced the news and wrote that Seoul was specifically selected for its role in "influencing global trends" through its dynamic culture and innovation. Latest rumors suggest Samsung has made some progress on removing the crease from its foldable displays.

Other rumors suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be powered by a Snapdragon 9 Gen 2 chip, similar to the Galaxy S23. As for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Samsung has been making improvements with every installation into the Galaxy Fold line, from a prominent crease in the very first Galaxy Z Fold in 2019, to a now nearly invisible crease in the latest Galaxy Z Fold. There are expectations that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be no different in terms of improvements, with buyers expecting improved hinge mechanics that remove the gap and enables the screen to fold completely flat.
