ASUS launched one of the most beautiful graphics cards it's ever with its new ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 24GB graphics card, which costs $3199 as it is... now it's launched in China, and it's selling for $8230.

The new ASUS ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 has an MSRP of $3199, twice the cost of the $1599 reference pricing, meaning you could buy 2 x RTX 4090s for the cost of the ROG Matrix RTX 4090 on its own. But, when you look at the $8230 pricing in China, you could buy 5 x RTX 4090s at $1599 each for that cost. Or, you know, the rest of the PC: CPU, motherboard, RAM, etc as well as an RTX 4090 and a 4K 120Hz OLED display.

Anyway, the ASUS ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 has launched in China with an official MSRP of 23,000 RMB ($3155 USD or so), while at JD, the card is selling for 59,999 RMB ($8230 USD or so).

AMD will be launching its new Ryzen 8000G series processors in January 2024, with the next-gen desktop APU launching on the AM5 socket, and we know that because of our friends at GIGABYTE.

GIGABYTE has accidentally kinda confirmed AMD's new Ryzen 8000G series launching in late January 2024 through a recent update to AGESA for AMD 600 series motherboards. The update included a confirmation from GIGABYTE, which said that their new AGESA 1.1.0.0 beta BIOS supports AM5 next-gen APU, which the company says "will be launched at the end of January 2024".

Well, there you have it -- AMD is launching its new APU in late January 2024, which will be the new Ryzen 8000G series APU family. We should expect the Ryzen 7 8700G, Ryzen 5 8600G, Ryzen 5 8500G, and finally, the Ryzen 3 8300G. The flagship Ryzen 7 8700G APU will feature 8 cores and 16 threads, with an RDNA 3-based GPU with 12 Compute Units in total... the most amount of CUs we've had on a desktop APU yet.

Sabrent has just given the world a cheeky look at its upcoming Apex X16 Destroyer, a new add-in card that can handle not just the 8 x M.2 NVMe SSDs on the front because there's another 8 x M.2 NVMe SSDs on the back for 16 in total.

Apple's first-generation Vision Pro was only announced a few months ago, and won't be hitting your eyeballs until 2024... meanwhile, we're hearing about the second-generation Vision Pro 2 headset.

MacRumors is reporting some design changes and hardware upgrades to Apple's next-gen Vision Pro 2, which is codenamed "Project Alaska" and device identifier N109, looks like the original Vision Pro. The same look and style is there, while the button placement is unchanged, the speaker placement is "expected to be different," according to MacRumors' sources.

What changes can we expect? The rear straps are simpler in design and appearance, with the new information suggesting the Apple Vision Pro 2 will have flat straps that we see in laptop bags and backpacks used as the rear straps on the new AR headset. Not only that, but there are references to a "non-descript audio accessory, possibly an external speaker".

We've been hearing rumors of refreshed tablets coming to Apple's iPad lineup in 2204 for some time now, and that seems increasingly likely now that it seems that 2023 will be the first year with no new tablets in a decade. But a new report adds more information to the rumored refreshes including one big change coming to the iPad Air/

That report comes via the normally reliable supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in a long Medium post that outlines Apple's plans for the 2024 year of tablet updates. According to him, Apple will release a new, larger 12.9-inch iPad Air alongside an updated version of the existing 10.9-inch model.

In terms of what the new 12.9-inch tablet will be like, there will be at least one key differentiator compared to the iPad Pro of the same size - Kuo says that the display technology will be different. As a result, it won't have the same mini-LED display but will instead stick with the cheaper, less impressive LCD. That will mean that we shouldn't expect the display's performance to be as strong in terms of contrast and color reproduction.

Samsung is yet to officially take the wraps off of the Galaxy Fit 3 fitness wearable but that hasn't stopped it from leaking. In images shared by Windows Report, the new watch has been shown off in a body that looks very familiar indeed.

The Galaxy Fit 3's leaked images show a device that appears to be similar to a somewhat compressed or squashed Apple Watch, which isn't necessarily a bad thing considering that Apple's wearable is the most popular on the planet.

Little is currently known about the specifications of the Galaxy Fit 3 itself, but the display is clearly bigger than the 1.1-inch Galaxy Fit 2. That older watch also features a heart rate monitor, accelerometer, and a gyroscope. In terms of features, it offers sleep tracking and automatic workout detection so we can expect those to be present and correct next time out as well. The same goes for music playback control and notifications when paired with a phone.

Apple is reportedly getting ready to make a change to the way people buy and rent movies, with the familiar iTunes Movie Store set to be killed off. Instead, it's claimed that Apple will move the same functionality into the Apple TV app, somewhere where it arguably makes more sense.

The news comes after 9to5Mac spotted code in the second beta releases of iOS 17,2 and tvOS 17,2 that show Apple will merge the iTunes Movie Store into the Apple TV app. Notably. users can already buy movies and TV shows in the TV app but those using Apple devices like the iPhone and iPad still have a dedicated iTunes Movie Store available as well. That, it seems, is about to change.

The strings seen by 9to5Mac mention text that suggests a new message will be displayed to say that the iTunes Movie Store has moved to the Apple TV app. However, it isn't yet clear whether the change will be implemented when iS 17.2 and tvOS 17.2 are rolled out to the public. That being said, the 9to5Mac report does say that comments left over from Apple engineers suggest that the tweak will be rolled out remotely. That means that it might not be strictly tied to the release of these new software updates after all.

With the introduction of iOS 17.1, Apple added a new feature that allowed owners of specific UK bank accounts to see their balances within the Wallet app for the first time. There were a number of banks supported at launch, but Apple has now updated a support document to outline the full list with some additions.

The new support document confirms that UK bank account holders from some of the biggest brands in the world are now compatible with the Wallet app's balance feature including Barclays, Barclaycard, First Direct, Halifax, HSBC, Lloyds, M&S Bank, Monzo Bank, NatWest Bank, and Royal Bank of Scotland. Interestingly Starling Bank was working for some, but has so far stopped updating the bank balance and is notably absent from this list provided by Apple.

The UK-specific feature uses the Open Banking API which ensures that Apple never has access to any of the information provided by banks, keeping it entirely out of the loop. The feature not only shows account balances but also full transaction histories, whether or not Apple Pay was used.

If you're planning on treating yourself to a new $3,500 Vision Pro in 2024 you're probably already thinking about how cool those Spatial Videos are going to be. Essentially 3D videos that can be viewed on the Vision Pro headset, they're set to be pretty impressive. The headset can record them using its stereo cameras, but that's less than ideal. Thankfully, the iPhone 15 Pro is going to be capable of capturing Spatial Videos as well, and it's now a step closer to doing that.

Spatial Video support is now part of the latest iOS 17.2 beta, allowing people to capture the 3D videos using little more than an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iOS 17.2 update is currently in its second beta and we can expect a couple more before the release is ready for public availability. But we're getting there, and those who are already running the iOS 17,2 beta 2 update have been sharing how it works.

Once enabled in the Settings app, capturing Spatial Video is done via the existing Camera app. The iPhone prompts the user to turn the video into landscape mode and from there everything works in much the same way as capturing any video does today. The files are saved in 1080p at 30 frames per second and one minute of video takes up around 130MB of storage space.

If anyone who owns an iPhone wants to install an app today they have to do so via the App Store. It's been that way since the App Store was introduced, but things might be starting to change. That's after code found in the latest iOS 17.2 beta appears to show that Apple is getting ready to allow other companies to offer their own app stores.

The discovery, made by 9to5Mac, comes as Apple is being forced to open the iPhone to non-App Store apps in the European Union with the Digital Markets Act kicking into gear in March of 2024. By that time Apple has to have a solution for people who want to install apps via means other than the App Store and it now appears that iOS 17.2 is laying the groundwork for that to happen. It was previously reported that iOS 17 would bring sideloading, although that never happened. And while iOS 17,2's public release is unlikely to add it, it's likely that Apple is getting the underpinnings ready ahead of a future iOS 17.3 or similar update.

9to5Mac reports that a new public framework called Managed App Distribution has been added to iOS 17,2 which appears to give third-party apps the permission to install other apps, something that would be required for a third-party app store. The API goes further, allowing the management of downloading and updating apps while also checking whether a specific device is compatible with the app that is about to be downloaded.

Buying a new Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, or other Apple product just got cheaper - assuming that you have an old iPad or Apple Watch to trade in at the Apple Store. Apple has long allowed people to trade in their old devices as a way to help pay for new models, but the company is now paying more for a few different products.

As first noticed by MacRumors, Apple is now paying more for the iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad, Apple Watch Ultra, and Apple Watch Series 7. However, the trade-in prices for the iPhone, Mac, and other Mcas and Apple Watches have not changed at the time of writing.

The new prices include the iPad Pro being worth up to $580 (previously $510) and the iPad Air now being worth up to $325 (previously $315). The entry-level iPad is now worth up to $260 (up from $170). Those trading in an old Apple Watch Ultra will get up to $425 for their old wearable (up from $380) while the Apple Watch Ultra 7 is now worth up to $160 (an increase from $155).

That's not a clickbait headline... it's a warning to save you some money. If you're itching to upgrade the graphics card inside of your machine or about to buy a pre-built gaming PC... hold off. Why? NVIDIA is going to announce its new SUPER refresh in the first week of January 2024, with "super aggressive" pricing that makes the current RTX 40 series cards a hard buy right now.

NVIDIA's current GeForce RTX 4080, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, and GeForce RTX 4070 should be avoided unless absolutely necessary, as the RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER will replace them all. The new RTX 40 SUPER series cards will be improvements in not just GPU + VRAM improvements but also pricing.

In his latest video, Tom from Moore's Law is Dead says that he's hearing NVIDIA could be "super aggressive" on pricing to better compete and outright kill some of AMD's current RDNA 3-powered Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs. They're not my words... that's Tom's sources at NVIDIA saying they want to outright kill the Radeon RX 7900 XT once and for all with the new RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16GB graphics card.

GALAX is celebrating its 20th anniversary in a massive way, with multiple custom GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards announced, with the introduction today of not just one but two new 20th Anniversary Edition graphics cards.

GALAX announced its GeForce RTX 4090 20th Anniversary Edition not too long ago now, but today brings the new GeForce RTX 4090 20th Anniversary "Carbon Fiber Edition" alongside a regular white commemorative model. The better looking of the two for me is the new RTX 4090 20th Anniversary Carbon Fiber Edition, which has a front panel covered with 'carbon fiber material', which is probably not carbon fiber.

Whatever it is, it looks nice (at least in the pictures) and has a sleek Founders Edition kinda look. In an RGB-blinged-out world, it's nice to see more conservative designs like this in a high-end RTX 4090 card. GALAX is using dual 10cm 20th-anniversary exclusive fans on the front of the card, while there's a smaller 9cm fan on the back.

Sony Corp CFO and President Hiroki Totoki may have indicated that about 60% of PlayStation Plus subscribers opt for the 12-month annual plans over the 1-month and 3-month options.

Back in 2022, Sony revamped its PlayStation Plus service and created a multi-tier offering that include different value propositions. The company had previously said it was happy with the reception of its new multi-sub model, and confirmed that most PS Plus users bought into the Extra and Premium tiers. Oddly enough, Sony stopped reporting PS Plus subscriber figures for its Q1'23 period, and then in September, the company raised the prices across all of its PS Plus plans.

While we no longer know how well PS Plus is doing, Sony did give some clues about plan adoption rates in its latest earnings call. Responding to a question about PS Plus' potential impact on revenue increases, Sony President and current PlayStation CEO Hiroki Totoki said that the "12-month package" of PS Plus equates to around "60% of the users."

Team Red has further tweaked the preview driver for its AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) technology.

VideoCardz spotted the changes to version 23.30.01.03 which comprise of a couple of important fixes relating to stability.

AMD notes that firstly it has improved driver stability when task switching on the PC, and secondly, it has cured a bunch of intermittent crashes that have been blighting the Adrenalin driver.

When you look at the current iPhone lineup there is no denying that the iPhone SE is starting to look a little long in the tooth. The third-gen model still has a Home button and a smaller 4.7-inch display, but the fourth generation is now rumored to be getting a big upgrade that will instantly make it appear much more modern than any iPhone SE to date.

If the new report is correct, the updated iPhone SE will borrow heavily from the iPhone 14 and will in fact use a modified version of its chassis. That's the word according to a new MacRumors report that also claims that the move to the iPhone 14 chassis will signal the end of the familiar iPhone 8 shape that has now been around for a while.

Alongside the move to the iPhone 14 shape, the report claims that the fourth-gen iPhone SE will not have a Touch ID home button as expected, but will instead have Face ID. There have been rumors of the iPhone SE having a more modern look for a while now, but it was always assumed that Apple would put Touch ID into the power button as it has done with some iPads. That now seems unlikely, based on the MacRumors report.

Apple might have only just announced new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros as recently as late October, but these new models obviously won't be the last that Apple releases. With that in mind, it shouldn't come as a surprise that a new report claims to have information about what will come not next, but a little further down the line. According to that report, Apple is getting ready to upgrade the MacBook Pro's display to something new, and it'll borrow technology from the Apple Watch of all things.

That technology, analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong Intl Tech Research says, is an OLED display that will replace the mini-LED technology that currently powers the Liquid Retina XDR used in today's laptops. OLED is of course the same technology that is already being used in the Apple Watch and has been used in Apple's phones ever since the iPhone X back in 2017.

What's more, we're already expecting Apple to begin to offer OLED in the iPad Pro as soon as next year. The rumored OLED iPad Pro will get the new display alongside an updated chip, likely the same M3 silicon that was announced alongside the iMac and MacBook Pros last month.

You wouldn't swap your Radeon RX 7800 XT for its predecessor - that'd be insane, of course - but believe it or not, there is a scenario where the RX 6800 XT beats out the RDNA 3 graphics card, namely in Linux.

Specifically, in the Ubuntu distro, which was the battleground on which Phoronix organized a shootout between AMD, Intel and NVIDIA GPUs.

This was a test of 1080p resolution gaming on Linux, and the GPU of those picked which topped the rankings was AMD's RX 6800 XT - beating the RX 7800 XT into second place. (The 7800 XT was the most powerful graphics card picked on the AMD side of the equation, which is fair enough for Full HD resolution benchmarks).

You'll probably need a large side order of salt for this one because a new image making the rounds courtesy of Chiphell showcasing a brand-new Alienware Desktop with an AMD Ryzen 9000 Series CPU seems a little premature.

It could be fake or a typo - with someone at Dell pressing 9 instead of 7. It could be legit, with AMD planning to launch its next-gen Zen 5-based Ryzen processors using the 9000-number range - skipping 8000.

That last bit is within the realm of possibility, as Ryzen naming for desktop processors has been known to skip numbers. This could be the first clue pointing toward AMD announcing Zen 5 at CES with enthusiast-grade Ryzenn 9000-series CPUs - and with that, it makes sense that companies like Alienware would be teasing upcoming products using the latest Zen 5 tech.

Videogame adaptations are a big thing right now; in the world of prestige TV, we've had the critically acclaimed The Last of Us series on HBO, and there's a Fallout series coming to Prime Video next year. Movie-wise, videogame adaptations are cooking, too, with a well-received Super Mario Bros. movie from Nintendo. The company plans to release a live-action The Legend of Zelda movie - which could be huge if done right.

What about the big one, Grand Theft Auto? Arguably the biggest videogame franchise out there - to the point where Grand Theft Auto 6's trailer drop in December could end up being one of the biggest gaming events of the year. And we're talking about a trailer!

According to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, Rockstar's parent company, adapting GTA into a film or television series would be "super challenging." And with that, there's no financial incentive to do so because GTA makes so much money as a videogame that it might not be worth "compromising the underlying intellectual property" for a fraction of what the franchise pulls in.
