Valve picks up Campo Santo, Firewatch developer
Campo Santo has announced on their website that their team of twelve has been acquired by Valve, the announcement read that this does not hinder or change any plans for their current project In the Valley of Gods.
The announcement explained that this agreement came after several "long conversations" and eventuated into a mutually beneficial decision. "In Valve we found a group of folks who, to their core, feel the same way about the work that they do (this, you may be surprised to learn, doesn't happen every day). In us, they found a group with unique experience and valuable, diverse perspectives. It quickly became an obvious match."
The team behind Firewatch is currently on their way to relocating at Valve's Bellevue Washington HQ, where they will continue working on In the Valley of Gods. "Yes, we're still making In the Valley of Gods (as a Valve game!); yes, we'll still support Firewatch; and yes, we'll still produce The Quarterly Review and our regular blog content. Thanks so much for your interest in our games and we'll see you in Washington. Cheers." If you are interested in reading the full blogpost check out the official Campo Santo website here.

There has been some rumors bouncing around that Microsoft will have exclusive rights to Borderlands 3's marketing, Randy Pitchford has addressed these rumors via Twitter.
The rumors began on a few smaller sites and included many other titles such as CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077, the new Battlefield and a new Splinter Cell game. The rumors suggested that all of these titles had all of their marketing rights signed over to Microsoft.
CEO of Gearbox took to Twitter to address this rumor for his unconfirmed title, saying "Where are you getting that? Gearbox signed no such thing with Microsoft. How are these things becoming propagated as fact when there is zero basis in reality?"

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will 'soon' get map selection
Over the last year, Battlegrounds has added a new desert map titled Miramar, this map has caused some controversy amongst the community so the developers have announced that they will be adding a map selection tool "soon."
Some players have gone ahead and deleted the Miramar files from their game just to not play the map, this won't be needed in the future though as PUBG developers have heard the cries from the community and will be adding map selection for each region.
Here is what the Steam Community post read: "Map selection is something that players all over the world have continuously asked for. We take your feedback extremely seriously, but we also want to be thoughtful about how we implement changes to PUBG. And we knew that map selection posed a couple of problems we needed to seriously consider."

Australian High Court REJECTS Valves appeal to $3M fine
The on-going lawsuit between Valve and the ACCC is about to come an end, Valve has appealed the fine of $3 million and the Australian High Court has tossed the appeal out. Newell is going to have to pay-up.
According to an announcement from the ACCC, Valve has breached consumer law in Australia causing the company to be slapped with a fine of $3 million. Justice Edelman, fined Valve back in 2016 for not allowing Australian gamers the right of refunding products between the years of 2011 and 2014, Valve appealed this notion but the High Court has dismissed their proposal.
Here is what the ACCC said: "As a result of the High Court's refusal of special leave, the Full Federal Court's decision that Valve is bound by the ACL in its dealings with Australian customers, despite being based overseas, is the final decision on this issue"

Skyrim Special Edition - 4K and 8K textures mods available
Modder 'jd941' created a Photogrammetry mod that updated the textures of the rocks found around the original Skyrim. Now, modder 'LupusHegemonia' has made the same mod available in the Special Edition version of Skyrim.
LupusHegemonia has released two versions of the mod, the first being the original authors creation "This is the author's original 4K-4K (and some 8K-8K too! ) textures files - defuse/normal maps/pumping maps etc." The second being a creation of his own "This is my personal version of the textures. I made them quite much de-saturated and most of them in grey-tones. Also, I added more grunge surface to most of the rocks' textures/normal maps. My version in 4K-2K resolution."
If you are interested in updating the textures of your rocks in Skyrim: Special Edition, here is the direct link to the Nexus Mod page where you can find many screenshots of the terrain.

God of War director reads reviews on video, shows true heart
God of War director Cory Barlog has taken to YouTube and posted a reaction video of his first time reading reviews for his newly released game. The video showcases Barlog showing true heart for what he and his team have created.
Barlog begins the video explaining that he is very nervous and has been stalling himself instead of looking at the reviews. This is mostly due to how long it has taken to create this new God of War game, Barlog details that 5 years of pure heart and soul creation from not only him, but his team as well have been poured into this game.
About 1 minute into the video Barlog forces himself to read the review, he is soon taken back and overwhelmed by emotion at what he sees from Metacritic. The video really is a tear jerker, Barlog shows his vulnerable side, removing the confidence of pre-release and showing true emotion for what he has created. Humbled at seeing the reviews, Barlog thanks his team and says that he is truly lucky to be able to work with people who believed in him when he didn't.

Witcher 3 mod allows Geralt to go full Benjamin Button
This Witcher 3 mod is honestly quite strange, as Geralt visually being the rugged life-beaten mutant that we all love and know is reversed back to a younger former self. Meet Geralt, the Benjamin Button version.
The mod created by 'Atherisz' allows for players to experience the world of The Witcher 3 from the perspective of a very young Geralt. Geralt being the main character in the story is portrayed as a battle-worn expert in his craft, he is tired after his long years, he has seen things and lived them, that can all be seen not only on his character model but the way that Geralt carries himself. This mod takes all of that away and gives us a young version of Geralt that is super weird to look at but also intriguing.
Geralt in the below images can be seen as a very young Witcher and I think players that are tempted to try The Witcher 3 all over again with this new character model will be surprised at how much it will be changing the feel of the game. Geralt is by far one of my most favorite characters in video game history, and I can say this mod is actually quite impressive and tempting, it certainly does Geralt justice. If you are interested in downloading it the link can be found here.

Fortnite developer: no rush to make new Battle Royale maps
Fortnite has tens of millions of players enjoying their Battle Royale goodness, but developer Epic Games sees no rush in making new maps.
During an interview with IGN, Fortnite Design Lead Eric Williamson said: "We've talked a bit about this internally. We just had the big map update and we learned a lot through that process. There's no urgency for us to create a new map right now. It's not a priority right now, whereas continuing to evolve and make the map feel fresh is something we're very excited and interested about. So stay tuned; we have some interesting ideas".
Fortnite is an exciting place to be, with the in-game meteor shower phenomenon continuing to pick up speed and get stronger, with the community believing that the Tilted Towers area of the Battle Royale map rumored to be destroyed by the meteors that will eventually strike.

Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass announced, full reveal at E3
Serious Sam is one of my fondest memories of LAN gaming back in the 90s, and now my excitement levels just skyrocketed with news from developer Croteam that they're working on Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass.
Croteam will have a full reveal during Devolver Digital's E3 2018 conference in June, with the developer teasing: "Featuring the world-renowned signature Serious Sam gameplay on a brutally bigger scale, and not a single desert level, Planet Badass will make its debut @ E3 2018".
We should expect a much larger game world for Serious Sam 4, a big change from the usual worlds that previous Serious Sam games have been set in. Better yet, Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass will feature co-op, split-screen, cross-platform multiplayer, a level editor, and Steam Workshop support as features.

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X overclocked to 6GHz with LN2 cooling
AMD has now officially released their new Ryzen 7 2700X processor, and within 24 hours we're seeing new overclocking world records with Der8auer and Neo overclocking the Ryzen 7 2700X to incredible heights.
The team completed the massive overclock at the ASUS ROG Taiwan HQ, where they used LN2 and the ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero motherboard to drive the Ryzen 7 2700X to a huge 6GHz, on all 8C/16T of Pinnacle Ridge processing power. The team used 1.85V of power, and isn't perfectly stable, but it shows the improvements that AMD made over the first-gen Ryzen CPUs.
AMD's new Ryzen 7 2700X was cooled to an incredible -190C with LN2, as the refreshed Ryzen chip doesn't have an OC bug meaning that it can be driven to super sub-zero temps.

Will Halo 6 be revealed at E3 2018?
Could Microsoft finally unwrap the next big Halo shooter at E3 2018? We don't know for sure, but a Halo 6 announcement would help elevate the games-maker's first-party profile to new heights.
343 Industries confirmed the Halo game has been in development as far back as 2015, and it's likely to have been in early stages even before Halo 5 shipped. Fast forwarding to nearly 3 years later and Microsoft has been quite mum on any future Halo games despite the launch of its Xbox One X console--which would've been a perfect time to release or at least announce Halo 6.
Now with E3 2018 just months away Microsoft is teasing its plans for the event. The company said that it will show off currently announced games as well as some titles that won't release in 2018. The latter probably includes Halo 6 given a recent job listing indicates the team still needs some time to optimize the game on the new Xbox system.

Neo Geo retro console possibly on the way
SNK celebrates 40 years of gaming with a new console that comes pre-loaded with Neo Geo games.
On the heels of Nintendo's massive success with its NES and SNES Classic Edition systems, other hardware-makers take aim at the nostalgia market: SEGA is releasing a Mega Drive Mini and now it appears SNK is making what very well could be a Neo Geo mini system. However it's possible the system will only be released in Japan.
SNK teased the announcement on their Twitter account and confirmed that Neo Geo games like The King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, Samurai Showdown, and Metal Slug would come pre-loaded. The bulk of the Neo Geo's games library was fighting games but we did get some impressive titles like King of of the Monsters and of course the Metal Slug series of games.

Nintendo R&D experimenting with new games hardware
Recent news broke that Nintendo was shockingly researching new and innovative ways to push its hardware ecosystem even further--just like every other console-maker on the market. Let's break down some of the data, shall we?
The Nintendo Switch represents the current top evolution of Nintendo's decades-long hardware strategy: first we had the blockbuster Wii, then the hugely successful 3DS, and finally the crash-and-burn Wii U. The Switch takes key elements from all of Nintendo's past successes (and failures) and combines them together. All of these previous systems were stepping stones to the unification of Nintendo's handheld and console business, and it's paid off extremely well insofar as hardware sales and company earnings. But what about the future?
"Nintendo constantly works on hardware, so we have been doing research and development and you may see the new system sometime in the future," Nintendo's Shinya Takahashi said to the BBC at the BAFTA awards. Pretty vague, huh?

Halo 6 might hit 4K 60FPS
Microsoft's first-party Halo dev team is ramping things up for Halo 6, which could hit 4K 60FPS on the Xbox One X.
We've known that 343i is working on the next Halo chapter for quite some time (presumably Halo 6), and now we know the devs are targeting the top echelon of performance at 4K 60FPS. The listing doesn't give any true specifics on the game itself, but considering a mainline Halo game has been missing from Microsoft's console lineup for over two years, the company is likely keeping things under wraps while development heats up.
"343 Industries, the studio developing Halo games, is looking for a Lead Graphics Engineer to join our team working on the next big Halo shooter experience," reads the job listing.
Arena brawler 'My Hero One's Justice' announced for Switch
Nintendo has taken to their YouTube channel to announce that the popular Shonen Jump manga series is coming to life on the Nintendo Switch.
Players will be able to bring justice to their enemies and save humanity in My Hero One's Justice. In the description on Nintendo's video it is detailed that players will "experience the abilities of fan favorite characters such as Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, Tomura Shigaraki."
It is also mentioned that players will have a choice between being a hero or participating in the practices of being a villain. Either way, the arena brawler should be a bunch of fun on the Switch, especially for those that enjoy these types of games.

Radical Heights - first patch, new gun/performance increases
The newly released battle royale title Radical Heights has received its first patch from Boss Key Productions, the patch features massive performance improvements.
The patch notes released by Radical Heights details a ridiculous amount of improvements, I've pulled some of the important dot points from the patch notes: "*NEW WEAPON*: FAL Rifle, You can now dive through large glass windows, Added a quick melee option."
There is so much in this patch it is hard to deem what is worthy to mention. Something that is quite important though is that Boss Key Productions say that there will be "Performance improvements across the board!" which should result in "a good increase in FPS." If you are interested in reading the full patch notes, visit the offiical Radical Heights patch notes post here.
