The price of Bitcoin has been stuck for some months, and now the coin has finally broken through to a new high.

On August 6, Bitcoin broke through to achieve a multi-month high at $43,231, which is the highest the price has achieved since May 19. The rise in the cryptocurrency's price was predicted by some market analysts using metrics from what the market did just before the 2020 bull run. According to those analysts, whales and retail investors bought large chunks of Bitcoin around this time in 2020, driving up the price.

Those same whales and retail investors seem to be doing what they did in 2020 right now. Rekt Capital, a market analyst, said, "BTC has successfully claimed the 200 day EMA as support, a long-term gauge of investor sentiment towards BTC. BTC has also successfully claimed the 21 week EMA as support, a bull market indicator. The market is getting bullish." More law firms and attorneys are rallying investors for a new class action securities fraud lawsuit against Activision-Blizzard. The complaints allege the publisher possibly committed securities fraud by withholding information from investors about a new discrimination lawsuit that it's facing.

Following a two-year investigation, the California Dept. of Fair Employment and Housing has filed a discrimination lawsuit against billion-dollar games company Activision. Shortly after news of the lawsuit broke, Activision shares dropped, causing material harm to stakeholders.

Interestingly enough, PUBG shares something in common with DC Comics: A new name change.

Krafton has officially changed PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to PUBG: Battlegrounds. Gaming's most notorious battle royale is now called PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds: Battlegrounds. As PC Gamer points out, this quite similar to the name change of nerdom's most popular comic series from DC to DC Comics, which literally means Detective Comics Comics.

Interestingly enough this name switch happened in late June. The earliest mention of PUBG: Battlegrounds is on June 30, where the parent company directly referred to the game with this new moniker. The previous press releases still have the old PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds name. The game's listings on Steam, PlayStation Store, and the Microsoft Store have all been changed.

Take-Two Interactive plans to reveal a brand new IP that will release by March 2022.

GTA parent company Take-Two expects to release a whopping 62 games by 2024 (and one of them could be Grand Theft Auto 6). 21 of these games will launch this year including a handful of new titles.

One of these new games will be revealed this month. "In addition, later this month 2K will unveil details of another exciting new franchise planned for launch during this fiscal year," Take-Two Interactive President Karl Slatoff said in the Q1'22 earnings call.

Nintendo's Q1'22 missed analyst expectations but still held traction from last year's record highs. Nintendo earnings are slightly moderating as markets adjust to post-pandemic spending, but Q1 earnings remain stable despite FY21's huge gains. All the main metrics are down, likely due to constricted semiconductor stock which has made Nintendo Switch hardware difficult to find.

NASA is showcasing some of the best achievements of its Hubble Space Telescope, and one image, in particular, contains 10,000 galaxies.

NASA is celebrating #DeepFieldWeek and has decided to take viewers for a trip down memory lane with some incredible images Hubble snapped, with the first being the original Hubble Deep Field. The tweets from the Hubble Twitter account continue, and with each new image, NASA explains which instrument was used and how many galaxies are contained within the image.

One image that is worth highlighting is from 2003 and 2004, where Hubble captured a million-second-long exposure to "create the Hubble Ultra Deep Field image, which contains about 10,000 galaxies!". In 2019, Hubble Legacy Field released and contained within it is data representing 16 years of the telescope's observations and "265,000 galaxies, and 13.3 billion years - making it the largest collection of galaxies documented by Hubble."

Scientists have poured years and years of time ironing out all of the details of launching the Hubble Space Telescopes successor, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).

The telescope has been under construction for many years now and has been cursed with numerous delays for various different reasons. Billions and billions of dollars have been poured into the telescope that is poised to unlock secrets of the universe for us, and now engineers, scientists, and NASA are approaching the end of the development runway and are almost ready for launch.

All of the years of work, money, and time developing JWST could all end in a matter of seconds if the launch on the Ariane 5 rocket fails. Thomas Zurbuchen, the associate administrator for science missions at NASA, summed all of the risks JWST will endure from the moment it's about to launch to when it is successfully deployed and operational. Zurbuchen wrote, "Those who are not worried or even terrified about this are not understanding what we are trying to do."

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg spoke at length about something called the "metaverse" during Facebook's second-quarter earnings call.

According to Investorplace.com, Mark Zuckerberg mentioned "metaverse" sixteen different times throughout the earnings call and even stated that he expects the public perception of Facebook being a "social media company" to transition to Facebook being seen as a "metaverse company". So, what is a metaverse, and why does Zuckerberg want to lean Facebook in that direction?

Essentially a metaverse is a collection of interactive virtual worlds that users will be able to enter and interact with each other in. Within these worlds or shared 3D virtual spaces, users will be able to do everything they can do in real life, plus more. The word metaverse is usually described as a conceptual future version of the internet where everyone connects with each other via virtual reality.

Researchers have recently got their hands-on a long-lost fragment of Stonehenge that was taken from one of the pillars back in 1958.

Robert Phillips represented a drilling company back in 1958 that was restoring Stonehenge. While restoring the monuments, Phillips snagged a cylindrical core from of the pillars, Stone 58, and in the years later emigrated to the United States. Now, it's illegal to drill into the stones, but researchers in 2018 got a hold of Phillips cylindrical stone core sample and began to study it. Their findings have recently been published in the journal PLOS One on August 4.

Researchers put the core sample through many different scans and found that stone was 99.7% quartz, described as "quartz cement" and "an interlocking mosaic of crystals". On top of that, the researchers found that some of the sandy sediments contained in the sample dated back Paleogene period, 66 million to 23 million years ago.

A new study has explored the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), a crucial circulation system that transports salty water from the tropics north and cold water southward.

Led author of the study, Niklas Boers from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research located in Germany, said the AMOC is "one of our planet's key circulation systems", and according to the findings from the study, the AMOC is on the verge of collapsing, which would have major impacts around the world. The authors warn that if the AMOC halts, Europe and North America could begin to experience extremely cold weather, as well as parts of the US East Coast could see a rise in sea levels.

Boers goes on to explain that the results of the study indicate that the AMOC is approaching what is described as a "critical threshold", "beyond which the circulation system could collapse." The led author recognizes that the study's method doesn't provide a time for when the AMOC will collapse. However, Boers states that it provides enough evidence that the AMOC has lost its stability, "which I take as a warning that we might be closer to an AMOC tipping than we think", says Boers.

Astronomers believe they have located a planet that is showing promising signs of having an atmosphere that can support life.

A new study published in the Astronomy & Astrophysics journal has honed in on a planetary system dubbed L 98-59 after the star it orbits. The system contains a rocky planet that has half the mass of Venus and is believed to be an ocean world. The team of astronomers used the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope in Chile, and found evidence of a fifth planet in what is called the "habitable zone" of its local star.

The "habitable zone" is a location in space that is not too hot and not too cold to host life. While the results from the study are definitely significant, astronomers don't have the telescope resolution to be able to detect biosignatures on the planet, even though it's only 35 light-years away, which is quite a small distance when discussing distances in space.

A man that has decided to remain anonymous has spoken out about his experience working as a content moderator at Facebook.

The bombshell interview appeared on VICE at the end of last month, and it shows a man wearing a mask discussing what it was like working as a content moderator at Facebook. The ex-employee says that his job is basically removing any content that breaks community guidelines, so Facebook users don't have to see it. The ex-Facebook employee goes on to say he spent eight hours a day looking at "all the worst things that people post online so that you don't have to see it."

Throughout the interview, the man explains that he originally didn't believe in post-traumatic-stress-disorder or PTSD and that he thought it was just a thing for useless people, but after experiencing at least "five to ten percent" of "traumatizing" images and videos, he began to feel the effects. "You remember some image that you had seen, and you suddenly realize there was a naked girl on one side - or an ISIS flag in the background, so now it should have been deleted under the terrorism policy", he explained.

Since being denied by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), Blue Origin has been posting infographics that payout Elon Musk's SpaceX.

The beef between the two companies and NASA begun when NASA awarded SpaceX with a $2.9 billion contract for SpaceX to construct a lunar lander and a transportation method to the moon. Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin officially protested NASA's decisions, and after reviewing the protest, the GAO denied Blue Origin's request, which prompted SpaceX to continue working on its design.

Since these events transpired, Blue Origin has taken its emotions about the situation public with infographics comparing its own design to SpaceX's. Laura Seward Forczyk, the founder of space consulting firm Astralytical, spoke to Inverse about Blue Origin's argument in the most recent infographic seen below. She said, "it was quite the argument to make when Blue Origin has not yet launched anything to space", referencing how SpaceX has successfully transported astronauts and cargo to the International Space Station.

Musk also confirmed that he has an Apple Mac and a GIGABYTE laptop as well, after being pinged by Whole Mars that talked about the recent swipes that Musk has made at Apple -- and the fact Musk tried to meet with Apple CEO Tim Cook on the thought of acquiring Tesla, but Cook denied that meeting.

Anyway, the SpaceX and Tesla founder replied saying that: "Actually, I like & use Apple products. They are just obviously overcharging with App Store. I mean 30% fees for doing almost zero incremental work is completely unreasonable. Epic wouldn't bother processing their own payments if App Store fees were fair".

Epstein, who had his own private island for god knows what happened, connected to major pedophiles worldwide, Hollywood, politicians, government staff, ex and current presidents, and many more.

Cooper said: "The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal both reported in recent months that Melinda was concerned about a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, who at the time when you met him in 2011, had already been convicted of soliciting prostitution from a minor. The Times reported that she hired divorce attorneys around the time in October 2019, when that contact with Epstein became public. Can you explain your relationship with Epstein? Was there ever any concerns about it?"

So this is coming out of nowhere, but Financial Times is reporting that Apple will be placing a mandatory new software update to all Americans' iPhones called neuralMatch -- and it will act as surveillance on your phone searching for child porn.

The new program will be detecting and reporting any Americans that own iPhones and have any CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material). Apple will reportedly unveil neuralMatch next week, and then will be pushed onto US iPhones in a new software update.

The automated system will alert an actual team of human reviewers, after which if they confirm that child sex abuse material (CSAM) is on your iPhone, then they will contact law enforcement.
