Authorities have arrested a woman who pretended to be the daughter of an elderly cancer patient who she then stole more than $400,000 from.

The Florida woman named Ana Nunez impersonated the 70-year-old cancer patient while they were in the hospital. Authorities have accused Nunez of manipulating the elderly individual into giving Nunez her "power of attorney" by signing several documents that also included her possessions and bank accounts that contained approximately $437,000, per Local 10 News.

Furthermore, the scammer is now facing a slew of serious charges after being arrested on May 20, with additional charges being placed on Nunez' son, Pablo Figueroa, who was arrested in early May under suspicion of being an accomplice.

Walmart has announced it has expanded its commercial agreement with Symbotic -- a "revolutionary A.I.-powered supply chain technology company" -- to install warehouse robots at all of Walmart's distribution facilities across the US.

Until now, there were 25 distribution plants by Walmart using Symbotic warehouse robotics... but now they'll be pushed to every single facility. It's not just robotics but Symbotic's software automation platform.

The end-to-end software-enabled high-density robotics platform "plays a strategic role in supporting the retailer's goal of modernizing its vast supply chain network and allows Walmart to transform its regional distribution centers to provide faster responsiveness to store orders, increased inventory accuracy and higher capacity for receiving and shipping freight to stores".

President Biden has said that the US would step in militarily if China invaded Taiwan, emphasizing that protecting Taiwan was a bigger "burden" than Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

GameStop's new NFT marketplace will go live by the end of July, the company today announced.

In a bid to embrace the digital age, ailing retailer GameStop has decided to open an NFT marketplace that will allow consumers to buy and sell digital assets. To facilitate its new platform, GameStop has developed the GME Wallet that promises to "securely store crypto and NFTs". Right now the app is only available as a browser Chrome extension, but an iPhone app is on the way.

"Use GameStop's Wallet to store, send and receive cryptocurrencies and NFTs. Connect to the upcoming NFT marketplace right from your web browser or mobile device," the wallet's description reads. The NFT marketplace will use Layer 2 for quicker transactions and other benefits.

The company teased a next-gen 16-core Zen 4-based CPU with 5.5GHz during gaming, while in content creation the new Ryzen 7000 series CPU is up to 31% faster than Intel's near-best Core i9-12900K processor. AMD was tapping a pre-production 16-core Zen 4 processor for the 5.5GHz+ demo, so we should expect even better results (frequency) and performance, once the new X670E and X670 motherboards hit the market later this year.

A US regulator has charged two men for being behind a multi-million-dollar cryptocurrency scam that stole funds from more than 100 investors.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has published a new press release that states Sam Ikkurty of Portland, Oregon, and Ravishankar Avadhanam of Aurora, Illinois, have been charged with fraudulently soliciting $44 million from investors as well as controlling and operating a commodity pool that was never officially registered with authorities. Notably, the two individuals scammed investors through asset income funds such as Ikkurty Capital, Rose City Income Fund, and Seneca Ventures.

The two men promoted their scam projects via YouTube videos and directed investors to their website where investors were informed that their funds would be used to generate return-on-investment (ROI) annually. The US regulator explained that instead of directly stealing funds from investors the two individuals "misappropriated participant funds by distributing them to other participants, in a manner akin to a Ponzi scheme."
