Back in October, Xiaomi announced their most ambitious phone so far - the Mi MIX. The device comes with an incredible 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, which the company says is the world's 1st.
Less than a four months after the launch, the company has confirmed that they are working on the Mi MIX successor. The news was confirmed by the company's CEO Lei Jun.

Russian NVIDIA fanboy murders AMD fan
In a bizarre chain of events, a Russian programmer "hacked" his friend with a knife after a disagreement about NVIDIA vs. AMD. The man murdered his friend with a kitchen knife by striking him twice on the head and then stabbed his friend another eleven times after he was already dead. He then burned the body in the attempt to cover the crime.
It appears that the argument was the result of drinking alcohol and there may have been something in the alcohol to result in such a violent reaction over graphics card makers.
The tragic event happened over a year ago, but the conviction was only recently handed down by the court to 31-year-old Aleksander Trofimov, responsible for murdering 37-year old Evgeny Lylin in Saransk, Russia.

EA Origin Access now has a $30 yearly subscription
Like its console-based offering, EA's PC gaming Origin Access service now has a $30 a year subscription option.
Up until now Xbox gamers got preferential treatment when it comes to EA's subscription-based Access service with a tidy $30 a year rate. PC gamers that used EA Origin, however, had to pay a flat $5 a month to equate about $60 a year. EA has now done away with that favoritism t make EA Access and Origin Access have the same yearly price.
"Join now for your free 7-day trial, then it's just $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year. Cancel anytime," reads EA Origin's updated site.

ASRock's Ryzen motherboards: led by X370 Killer SLI/ac
ASRock looks like its ready to impress AMD Ryzen CPU owners with their upcoming motherboards, led by the flagship ASRock X370 Killer SLI/ac motherboard.
The new ASRock X370 Killer SLI/ac motherboard has two reinforced PCIe 3.0 x16 slots that are ready for SLI and CrossFire setups, but it also features 2 x M.2 slots for super-fast storage solutions. It will also rock 802.11ac wireless connectivity, with a very slick black and white color scheme.
Next up, we have the ASRock AB350 Gaming K4 which also features 2 x M.2 slots - showing us that ASRock is serious about providing high-end features on cheaper motherboards. This board is a mid-range board with the B350 chipset, but it also has 2 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots - but no SLI/CF support.

AMD Ryzen overclocking tool spotted, called 'Master'
I can't contain my excitement for new technology, with our first official tease of Ryzen motherboards from GIGABYTE and ASUS - and now a tease of AMD's rumored Ryzen CPU overclocking software, something called Ryzen Master.
VideoCardz.com is reporting the news from a screenshot they grabbed from NAMEGT, but it's blurred out - but as they report "the software looks awfully similar to Radeno Settings". There are sliders that look like AMD will let you tweak your Ryzen CPU at a core level, overclocking individual CPU cores - which is a freakin' nice touch.
It looks like there are other settings for XFR (Extended Frequency Range) technology, which is something that will automatically adjust CPU frequency depending on the cooling technology you're using. I'm sure we'll find out more about Ryzen Master in the coming days, and the new couple of weeks ramping up to AMD's big launch of Ryzen.

Nintendo Switch 480p downscale hint at Gamecube VC games
Users can downscale the Nintendo Switch's native resolution down to 480p (standard definition) when its docked in TV Mode. Why would anyone need to adjust the system's resolution? Maybe it has something to do with Gamecube games, which run at 480p?
Some retailers apparently broke street date on the Nintendo Switch, and the lucky owners have uploaded some footage of the Switch to the net. When watching the footage I noticed something very, very interesting: in the Switch's settings you can adjust its TV Resolution and set it to 480p. While docked in TV Mode the Switch switches from the tablet's 720p up to full 1080p HD resolution while playing actual retail Switch games, so this 480p setting could be for Virtual Console platforms and games.
This could strongly hint that the Switch will have Gamecube VC games that run at 480p, and that gamers could set the system's internal resolution at 480p to ensure Gamecube games run in their native resolution HDTVs.

AMD Ryzen motherboards teased from ASUS and GIGABYTE
Can you believe we are so close to one of the most important launches from AMD in over half a decade with their next-gen Ryzen CPUs? As we get closer, we're learning more and more about them, and now we're getting some full frontal shots and details on the motherboards from ASUS and GIGABYTE.
Starting with GIGABYTE, we have their upcoming AORUS AX370-Gaming 5 board - which looks slick as hell with its black, silver and orange theme. Both boards are based on the X370 chipset, ready for any Ryzen CPU you throw at it - right up to the flagship Ryzen 7 1800X processor.
ASUS will have its Crosshair VI Hero motherboard, as well as the Prime X370-PRO, which doesn't look as flash as GIGABYTE's offering - but it does feature their Aura Sync technology for some LED goodness.

Deep Down's new trademark means nothing, and here's why
Capcom has just filed a "new" trademark for Deep Down, its online-based fantasy game that was shown off in 2013 but still hasn't released. This news caused a stir in the community as gamers thought it could mean Deep Down may finally be ready sometime soon, but I have some bad news for everyone: this doesn't mean anything.
Deep Down's latest trademark filing is a simple re-filing to lock in the game's TM and reduce the cost of further extensions. That's all this trademark means. It doesn't indicate Capcom is any closer or farther to releasing Deep Down. In fact, the two filings are 100% identical--except one has no extensions and a new TEAS RF classification to reduce filing costs. Old filing is here, and the new filing is here.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted Capcom five trademark extensions for Deep Down. As clearly indicated here, that's the maximum extension count before a company has to re-file. The extensions are valid for six-month intervals, and Capcom last filed August 9, 2016, which is exactly six months from this new trademark's filing of February 9, 2017.

Fox wants shorter theatrical to home release windows
The major Hollywood studios have been lobbying to reduce the 100 day release window between a theatrical and home video release for some time now, but now 20th Century Fox is placing renewed pressure on the charge following the immense changes to the media landscape in recent times.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox CEO Stacey Snider said that "It's not about smashing the window. Maybe it's about opening it up a little.. for a business to not be able to sell what it makes for periods of time is anachronistic." Despite that, she doesn't want to completely upend the "huge, global, big, beautiful cinematic" business model, saying "the last thing we want to do is commoditise it and make it feel like it's interchangeable with the home entertainment experience."
Fox has a number of big budget films on the way for 2017, including 'X-Men' spin-off 'Logan', 'Alien Covenant', and 'The War for the Planet of the Apes'.

Payday 3 now in development
Starbreeze today announced that production and development of Payday 3 is now full swing, but the sequel is far from ready for release.
The Payday franchise is Starbreeze Studio's most important property. The studio is the sole owner for the IP and Payday remains the "cornerstone" of the company's business: Starbreeze earns 100% of all PC sales and revenue gleaned from the series, and the franchise has generated an impressive SEK 47.7 million ($5,384,414) of net revenue from October - December 2016. So it's only natural that Starbreeze would make a sequel and push the franchise forward.
"It is with great satisfaction that we also can announce that PAYDAY 3 production is officially initiated and at a full design stage," the studio announced its most recent financial earnings report.

GeForce GTX 1080 Ti in production, launch March 20-23
It looks like NVIDIA is finally, after months and months of rumors, preparing its GeForce GTX 1080 Ti for launch - with new rumors stating the card would launch between March 20-23.
NVIDIA is hosting its own event during GDC 2017, where we should hopefully see the GTX 1080 Ti unveiled - but what should we expect in terms of raw horsepower and specs? Well, it should be a Titan X at the end of the day, with some reduction in SMs, with 52 SMs, compared to 60 SMs found on the Titan X.
This means we are to expect around 10.8 TFLOPs of performance, barely down from the 11 TFLOPs on Titan X. We should see AIB partners with tweaked and overclocked GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards, with Titan X beating performance - which is going to be a very, very big deal.
