After losing their 6th director, the Uncharted movie eyes off no.7
The Uncharted movie has suffered in terms of finding a director and keeping on the production schedule timeline. Sony is now looking for a new director to fast-track the movie.
When producing and developing a movie, ideally, you would want everything to be as smooth as possible. Unfortunately for the Uncharted movie, that has hardly been the case. Just last week, I reported on the movie losing their sixth director, Bumblee's Travis Knight. Knight departed the movie due to Spider-Man actor, Tom Holland's filming schedule.
Holland is currently filming the third Spider-Man movie, and due to that film's shooting schedule falling behind, the Uncharted movie has taken a massive hit. Now, sources are saying that a seventh director is already in talks, and according to sources close to Deadline, that director is Ruben Fleisher. Deadline says that "Ruben Fleischer is atop the list to direct Holland and Mark Wahlberg in the film". We will have to wait for an official announcement before we confirm anything.

Hackers can win a Tesla Model 3 + $1 million if they can hack a Tesla
If you are after some fast cash and have competent hacking skills, then you might be in luck because the annual Pwn2Own hacking competition is offering up ridiculous prizes.
Pwn2Own is a hacking competition that is scheduled to begin March this year in Vancouver. At this competition hacking, experts and security researchers can put their skills to the test and break into some of the secure digital infrastructures ever made -- and they are handsomely rewarded for it. The press release says that Tesla vehicles come with three distinct layers of security, and for each of these layers being compromised, a reward will be given to the hacker.
Looking at the highest prize, achievable - Tier 1. Tier 1 represents a complete vehicle compromise, and to win this tier, the hacker will have to "pivot through multiple systems in the car, meaning they will need a complex exploit chain to get arbitrary code execution on three different sub-systems in the vehicle." If a participant manages to do this, they will walk away with a Tesla Model 3 and $500,000 in cash. Additionally, more money can be acquired if the hacker manages to hack into the peripherals of the Model 3. For more information, check out this link here.

Japanese billionaire, Yusaku Maezawa is after just that as he has launched a campaign to find a suitable "female partner" to accompany him in his flight around the Moon. Maezawa has started a new website promoting the "girlfriend" campaign, and according to the website "He wants to visit such a special place together with a special someone." There are conditions to applying, they aren't very strict so don't worry.
The website states that applicants have to be; "Single women aged 20 or over, bright personality and always positive, interested in going into space and able to participate in the preparation for it, want to enjoy life to the fullest, be someone who wishes for world peace." Back in September last year, Maezawa put down a large deposit to be the first private customer to ride on SpaceX's Starship once it was completed and ready for flight. Starship won't land on the Moon with passengers. Instead, it will take passengers around the Moon, giving them a perfect look at it.

Tesla cars will get KITT from Knight Rider update that enables speech
The constant string of updates to Tesla's just keep coming and coming. Elon Musk, the Tesla founder and C.E.O. isn't slowing down with the updates either, as he has just teased what's in the pipeline for Tesla owners.
In a new video posted to Elon Musk's official Twitter account, we can see two people driving a Tesla out of a car park. While this might just seem like a boring video, if you play it with sound, you can hear something unique. As the car is driving past some pedestrians, it says "Well, don't just stand there staring hop in!". Musk has just officially teased that Tesla's will be able to speak to pedestrians with external speakers, just like K.I.T.T. from Night Rider.
Musk didn't explain the extent of Tesla's speech capabilities, or what specific Tesla models will be able to use this new feature. But he did tease that Tesla owners who have the vehicle that supports this update will be able to 'fart' in the general direction of pedestrians. This new feature could be handy if owners are able to use external speakers as a means of communicating safety with people outside the car. At the moment, its unclear whether the 'speech' will be canned clips (pre-installed voice lines) or if owners will be able to use the external speakers as a microphone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will debut with new Galaxy S20
Samsung is hosting its Samsung Unpacked event on February 11, where we will be introduced to the next-gen Galaxy S20 family of smartphones as well as their new foldable -- the Galaxy Z Flip.
Until now, Samsung's new foldable smartphone has been rumored to arrive as a more mid-range foldable that would fall under the flagship Galaxy Fold. Now we have a new rumor that is calling it the Galaxy Z Flip, and that it will pack Qualcomm's previous-gen and non-5G flagship Snapdragon 855 processor -- the same chip that powers the flagship Galaxy Fold smartphone.
Samsung will reportedly have a small notification display on the back of the Galaxy Z Flip, something that will show information to you when the main display is closed -- just like the Galaxy Fold. Port wise it should be identical to the Galaxy Fold with a USB-C charging port and no 3.5mm headphone jack. But the bigger rumor here is that Samsung's new Galaxy Z Flip will have support for the S-Pen, something that the Galaxy Fold lacks.

Samsung's new Galaxy S20+ smartphone smiles for the (lots of) cameras
We know that Samsung is working on its new flagship smartphone, with rumors pegging it as the Galaxy S20 and now we have our first kinda-official look at Samsung's next big thing.
XDA Developers has the exclusive first snap of Samsung's new Galaxy S20+, with photos of both the front and back of the smartphone. Samsung's higher-end Galaxy S20+ is the one we're looking at here today, with 4 rear-facing cameras and a flash on the back while the front has a punch hole camera cut out.
Samsung will be using an Infinity-O display with XDA Developers' anonymous source saying that the display is "much less curved than before" on the new Galaxy S20+ smartphone. The source said that it felt very similar to Google's previous-gen Pixel 2 XL handset, where it looks like they've used 2.5D glass over the normal curved glass for the Galaxy S20+.

Microsoft wants new IPs to turn into long-running franchises
Microsoft has a bunch of new Xbox IPs in development at its newly-fortified Xbox Game Studios platform, and most of them should be franchises rather than one-and-done experiences.
Microsoft has clear ambitions for its new wholly-owned IPs: To turn them into engagement-driven titles that can stretch across entire generations and easily translate to other platforms. In a recent interview with MCV UK, Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty lightly discusses this new plan. Essentially Microsoft wants to invest in IPs that will carry across years similar to Halo and Minecraft, while tying into transmedia content to boot. This strongly hints new IPs from Obsidian and The Coalition could be heavy-hitters.
"We need to continue building characters, stories, and worlds that can transcend generations, devices, and platforms," Booty said.

Rumor: Next Star Wars game will spark new pre-Skywalker saga
There's a juicy rumor going around concerning the future of Star Wars, and Disney might merge films and games together in big cinematic universe-style approach.
According to reports from Making Star Wars.net, Disney plans to inextricably tie Star Wars films and movies together in an ambitious transmedia network centered around a new era. The plan is called Project Luminous, and its new timeline will be 400 years before the Skywalker saga and set in the High Republic timeline which predates the Old Republic saga, sources tell the outlet.
The theme of this new saga is largely based on grandiose exploration, and will be a series of films rather than a trilogy. The next Star Wars game will apparently be a direct tie-in to this new focus--which hints at a later release--that kicks off an expansive ecosystem of games, comics, movies, shows, and more. The idea is to mold this new Star Wars era into a sphere of products and content that can release over years and years.

Next Assassin's Creed isn't called Ragnarok, most leaked info is wrong
Games industry analyst Daniel Ahmad warns that most of the current Assassin's Creed rumors and leaks are wrong. Case in point: The game isn't even called Ragnarok.
Photo: Caiomm
Earlier today someone posted up another "leaked" image from the new unannounced viking-themed Assassin's Creed game. The community ripped the insanely blurry photo apart (a predictable reaction) and some industry figures in-the-know stepped in for brief clarifications.

WB Montreal's Batman game may feature batcycle, started dev in 2014
The batcycle is likely returning in Warner Bros. Montreal's mysterious Batman game--or was at least planned at some point.
According to concept artist Furio Tedeschi's LinkedIn page, WB Montreal's new unannounced Batman game may feature the batcycle for the first time since Lego Batman 2 in 2011. Tedeschi had a brief two-month stint at WB Montreal in 2014, hinting the project has been in development for quite awhile. This timing puts Tedeschi's work alongside the now-cancelled Suicide Squad game that WB Montreal was originally developing before moving on to the current Batman project, but the artist's CV explicitly states work was on an "unreleased Batman game."
The page says Tedeschi created concept art for the batcycle as well as 3D modeling for in-game use. It's unknown whether or not Tedeschi's work will actually show up in the game--lots of content is scrapped over the years as games continually get cut and shifted--and it's possible the game Tedeschi was helping shape no longer exists. WB Montreal eventually rebooted its planned Damian Wayne sequel into something more grand, but we could still see old concepts including the batcycle show up.

A next-gen Metal Gear Solid should look like this concept art
Konami, take note: This is what your next-gen Metal Gear Solid should look like.
Concept artist Furio Tedeschi's Metal Gear Solid-inspired work gives us a riveting look at what's possible with Konami's next mainline tactical espionage game (if there even is a next game).
The art itself is from last year, but is nonetheless a visually striking fusion of man and high-tech machine optimized for next-gen warfare. Most of the art reminds me more of Call of Duty mixed with Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance--especially the last one with the wicked dual-katana wielding femme fatale. It's worth noting that this art isn't official and doesn't represent a new project that's in development, but instead is Tedeschi's musings on the landmark franchise.

Switch and GameCube merge in unique custom JoyCon build
ShankMods has done it again. First he made a Wii out of an Altoids tin, then a portable handled Wii with GameCube buttons. Now the modder has fabricated custom GameCube JoyCons that slide right onto the Switch's rails.
The Switch has so much untapped potential for interchangable retro JoyCons. Cut a controller in half, slap some rails on it and voila, the Switch is a time machine for old-school games. The biggest variant everyone wants to see is actual GameCube JoyCons. If Nintendo won't do it, modders will.
By adding attachable GameCube controllers to the Switch's sides, renowned tinkerer ShankMods has pieced together a fantastic Frankenstein gaming creation that merges past with present. The result is a fully-functioning GameCube-JoyCon hybrid that plays like an old-school controller with new-school tech like HD Rumble, gyroscopic tracking, and Amiibo support.

High density server liquid cooling? Alphacool has it at CES 2020
CES 2020 - Alphacool is well known for their custom liquid coolers for consumers. Think of it as enthusiasts liquid cooling, but one area many do not know they have a presence within is the professional space. Things such as HPC/Datacenter space where liquid cooling can be massively beneficial but also highly specialized due to the way rack space or U's are managed.
Alphacool has fully integrated solutions for rack-mount servers used for both compute or GPU offload rendering. As you can see here, they outfitted an X399/2990WX 32-core Ryzen Threadripper with four RTX 2080 Ti GPU's.
All of these with special inlets which come from the edge of the card and have their rubber tubing routed to a small splitter, which then feeds into a sizeable triple-fan radiator with thick high static pressure fans in push/pull configuration.

Alphacool shows off Eisbecher Auro glass reservoir with RGB at CES
CES 2020 - Alphacool had a strong presence at CES 2020, and their Aurora DRGB/ARGB applications have been at the forefront of much of the glitz and glamour. The part we are looking at today is no different. Today we are looking at Eisbecher Aurora.
Let's address the name first as that's where a lot of users scoff at Alphacool parts, but being a German company, their names tend to be a little strange to us USA folks. Well, according to Google translate, Eisbecher means Sundae, while separating them from Eis Becher roughly translates to "ice cream cup."
So, I am clearing up nothing in regards to the naming in this article, but I digress. So with the RGB Ice cream cup, we know its a full glass tube, which of course, means we have less to worry about in regards to scratching when cleaning. Also, note the two sized 150 and 250 each with the inner tubes Alphacool uses for anti-cavitation, which has always been a unique solution compared to some of the flat plates or foam pads used in some other solutions.

Alphacool shows full cover Eiswolf Aurora GPU AIO at CES 2020
CES 2020 - Alphacool has been well known for a while now with their AIO and custom cooling solutions all based off of the roots of full custom liquid cooling. Their Eaisbaer line is a reliable indicator of this as for all intents and purposes, an Eisbaer unit is a Pump in block unit with a cooling baseplate or even block exactly like their custom options. These same units use G1/4 standard cooling fitments along with quick disconnects to allow adding more parts to the loop.
Here we have the LED-lit acrylic front block for NVIDIA GPUs along with the placard showing that the GPU blocks are nickel-plated copper. This makes for the beautiful shiny block but also helps with the tarnishing issue where copper can discolor, making for a less sightly build. The Eiswolf Aurora units are claimed to have a newer model DC-LT pump for quiet and cool running operation.
Sont worry AMD fans; Alphacool has an Eiswolf for you as well with the new RX series cards having their dedicated cooling as well.
