Amazon has officially been granted permission from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to use radar technology that is designed to monitor you while you sleep.

Amazon filed a request to the FCC on June 22 for a waiver to be granted for section 15.255(c)(3) of the FCC's rules that would allow the company to implement "field disturbance radar sensors", or "Radar Sensors" into products. Amazon goes on to say that the radar sensors would be used for "sleep tracking" and would provide "awareness and management of sleep hygiene".

Amazon also states that the radar sensors would be able to assist "persons with disabilities" such as "mobility, speech, or tactile impairments." On July 8, the FCC has granted approval for the technology to be implemented into products, stating that Amazon intends to "use the radar's capability of capturing motion in a three-dimensional space to enable contactless sleep tracing functionalities."

A warning has been issued by a cyber-security expert regarding the use of Facebook's Messenger app on both iPhone and Android.

According to Zak Doffman, a widely recognized expert on surveillance and cyber and the security and privacy risks associated with big tech, Facebook Messenger users should know that none of their messages between users are encrypted. This means that messages and content that are sent on the platform can be flagged by Facebook, unlike Facebook's other messaging platform WhatsApp.

WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption, which means that all content sent between two users is encrypted and can't be viewed by anyone else, not even Facebook. Doffman recommends that if you are on Android or iOS, you should use WhatsApp as your default messaging app for personal communication and Messenger for trivial communications.

A new report from the US Sun has revealed that Russia is scheduled to finish the final testing on a lethal hypersonic missile.

The US Sun reports that the missile named Zircon or Tsirkon can reach speeds of 6,100 mph, or Mach 8, and according to Moscow's state-controlled TV, the Zircon missile is Russia's President Vladamir Putin's "weapon of choice to destroy coastal American cities in the event of an atomic conflict." Additionally, Putin has stated that the Mach 8 Zircon is "truly unparalleled in the world", and described it as "unstoppable".

The missile is designed to take out enemy ships, and officially it has a range between 188 and 620 miles, but unconfirmed reports state that the missile's true range is 1,200 miles. "The ship-based Tsirkon hypersonic missile system will carry out firings at land and sea targets from the frigate Admiral Gorshkov," said the source. The missile is currently undergoing final tests that will take place before the end of July. Mass production of the missile is expected to begin in 2022.

Sir Richard Branson recently took the VSS Unity to what was called "space", but now astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson has said its technically not "space".

On Sunday, Branson took the first tourist space flight in history aboard the VSS Unity. After reaching an altitude of 9 miles the spacecraft released the spaceplane which then blasted its way to 50 miles altitude. Now, here's where things get technical. The pilots aboard the VSS Unity welcomed all passengers on board to "space", however, deGrasse Tyson says technically Branson as well as Bezos won't reach "space".

Using a globe to explain what he is talking about, Tyson says that if you look at it proportionately, the International Space Station would be one centimeter from the scale model (globe), which would put the Moon more than 10 meters away. Using the same arithmetic, Tyson says that Branson reached less than 2 millimeters from the scale model.

Now, a new video has surfaced showing Deadpool sitting on a couch with beloved MCU character Korg. Both Korg and Deadpool watch the trailer for the upcoming Ryan Reynolds movie Free Guy that will be hitting theaters on August 13.

Closer to the end of the movie, Deadpool asks Korg if he has any tips for him getting into the MCU. Korg replies by saying, "have a dream, chase it, lose that dream, just sabotage all sorts of happiness in pursuit of that dream, climb up to the peaks of that mountain and when you get to the top land at the bottom and realize you're never going to achieve that dream and at that point check your emails. The bitcoin wallet was opened up just months after the cryptocurrency itself was created by Satoshi Nakamoto, who disappeared in 2012 -- the year that the bitcoin wallet with 791 BTC was set up. The same wallet has just been activated, with rumors swirling that it could be the wallet of the secretive Bitcoin creator himself, Satoshi Nakamoto.

Twitter bot Whale Alert tweeted the news, with 640 of the 791 bitcoins transferred out and into an unknown wallet. Some users replying to the Twitter thread were saying that it was someone that remembered their password, and how good it would be to be that person -- because that bitcoin was worth $10,000 in 2012 and is now worth $26 million.

AMD won't be offering more CPU cores on its next-gen Zen 4 desktop CPUs according to the latest leaks, with the flagship Zen 4 desktop processor having 16 cores max.

The current-gen Zen 3-based Ryzen 9 5950X processor has 16 cores and 32 threads, with previous rumors teasing a flagship Zen 4 desktop processor would have 24 cores and 48 threads. Patrick Schur on Twitter tweeting that Raphael would have up to 16 cores, up to 170W TDP, and made on 5nm.

11 people have died in the western state of Rajasthan, India -- after a lightning strike near a watchtower at the 12th century Amber Fort -- the tourists were taking selfies when the lighting struck and killed them all.

Shankar Lal Saini, a senior disaster management official in Jaipur spoke with CNN, where he said that the lightning struck the tower -- which caused its walls to collapse, and buried people with rubble. He said: "Since the fort is on a hill, when the debris was falling and space reduced, some people also fell into a ditch".

India Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "Saddened by the loss of lives due to lightning in parts of Madhya Pradesh. The State Government will provide all possible assistance to the affected. Jennifer Zeng has posted an alarming new tweet, bringing attention to an even more alarming video that was uploaded to a Chinese military channel called Liu Jun Tao Lue which threatens full-scale nuclear war with Japan.

The video proposes that the CCP would punish Japan beyond description if the country was to use a single soldier, plane, or ship -- and that not only would it return fire, but it would start a "full-scale war against Japan". First, they would drop nuclear bombs, they would drop nuclear bombs continuously... until Japan declares "unconditional surrender for the second time".

The Evil Within developer Tango Gameworks has delayed its new thriller to next year.

Supernatural first-person action game Ghostwire: Tokyo has been delayed from its 2021 launch to early 2022 on PlayStation 5 and PC, Tango Gameworks today announced.

"We've made the decision to delay the launch of Ghostwire: Tokyo to early 2022," the devs wrote on Twitter.

Stadia's new terms offer an attractive 85-15 revenue split in favor of developers.

Google today announced new revenue sharing policies for Stadia games that let developers keep 85% of sales. The new 85-15 split will give devs 85% of sales revenues until the game hits $3 million in earnings. After the $3 million cap, the revenue split reverts back to the previous 70-30 split. Stadia mentions this is for sales, not in-game purchases across the myriad of monetized games on the service.

"Starting in Q4 this calendar year, we're launching a limited time incentive program to adjust our revenue share for newly signed games to an 85-15 split for game sales up to a $3 million threshold. This will apply to all games launching in Q4 this year and in 2022, and in 2023. That means you as a Stadia partner will earn 85% of your title sales and Google will earn 15%. Once your title's total sales reach a $3 million threshold, the revenue share will revert back to the current split," said Careen Yap of Stadia's Strategic Business Development team.

Square Enix is releasing a new patch for NieR: Automata on Steam that boosts cinematics to 60FPS, but there's no mention of uncapped frame rates.

After many years, NieR: Automata is finally getting updated on PC to add a bunch of new features and bug fixes. The biggest update is full 60FPS support for cutscenes (previously locked to 30FPS) and a default frame rate stabilization of 60FPS as well. HDR has been tweaked, too. Sadly it looks like the frame cap is still in place so don't expect to hit 144Hz just yet.

The devs are also adding in FidelityFX CAS for improved visuals alongside a new global illumination system for environment lighting effects. The patch notes are somewhat vague on some points including "adjustments to anti-aliasing functionality" and "other stability-related fixes".

Sony Corp has filed a new Form 6-K outlining the progress for its annual share repurchase plan worth $1.8 billion.

Sony's board of directors recently approved a buyback of up to 25 million common stock in an effort to help bolster stock value and boost shareholder returns. Sony plans to spend 200 billion yen ($1.8 billion) on stock throughout its Fiscal Year 2021 timeline (April 2021-2022). This marks the second and major repurchase program since 2019, and a recent filing shows the current status of the initiative.

The tech giant repurchased 722,800 common stock in June 2021 for 7.4 billion yen ($66.8 million), which comprises less than 3% of the total share repurchases. Sony currently has a total of 1.28 billion shares issued in both common and treasury stocks.

RTS fans rejoice: Today SEGA and Relic Entertainment announced Company of Heroes 3, a new sequel set in the Mediterranean Theater of World War II with a bunch of new enhancements.

With Company of Heroes 3, Relic promises to deliver the "ultimate package of action, tactics and strategy." The chaotic RTS is due out in the second half of 2022 on PC and features a dynamic campaign map that reacts to your decisions in and outside of battle, with a shifting narrative that will change based on your actions. Relic says this new campaign map also features a new layer of verticality with mountainous regions and stacked environments set across Italy to allow for height advantages in battle.

One of the biggest new features is the Tactical Pause system, which allows players to freeze frame the action and plan their next moves. Relic has also updated its AI features to make battles more challenging and the game is specifically optimized for DirectX 12 as well as multi-core CPUs.

Sometimes when you pull out your camera to record a friend, you end up recording something that you never intended or weren't expecting to happen. This is one of those moments.

Tomas Gomez, an employee at the TopGolf driving range located in Texas, was smashing some balls with his friends before the bad weather became too much. Gomez struck his last ball out into the rain while one of his friends recorded the shot. The footage shows the ball being hit out into the driving range and then being struck by a bolt of lighting, presumably completely destroyed.

The video has since gone viral on TikTok and has been featured on the TopGolf Instagram page. Gomez said to KSAT-TV, "It could have hit me...It could have hit any of us, Gomes told the news outlet. I heard the thunder and my instinct was to run... It was all a blur. It was actually pretty scary after I was thinking about it for a while." During the filming of a stunt for Discovery's Shark Week, a Jackass star has had a bad encounter with a shark after suffering a bite.

The Jackass group is known for pushing the limits of what is considered a "dangerous stunt", and the last stunt is a testament to that as Jackass star Sean "Poopsie" McInerney risked it all by attempting to jump over a shark in shark-infested waters. Using what seems to be a wakeboard, Poopsie was pulled along by a jetski towards a floating ramp. After hitting the ramp, Poopsie lost control and splashed down into the waters, where he was later bitten on the hand by a shark.

Luckily, McInerney safely made it back to the boat with the assistance of safety divers, where he was met with immediate medical assistance and transported back to shore. Jackass star Steveo showed signs of relief learning that McInerney didn't lose any fingers and that it was only one bite, saying, "This was only one bite in one spot? And he's not missing anything?".
