When Apple announced iOS 17 it brought with it a new feature called NameDrop. That feature makes it easier for people to share their contact details with others by moving two iPhones close to each other and then simply tapping a button. Now, it seems that the same interface and sharing experience is going to come to the Wallet app.

That's according to a MacRumors report that says the upcoming iOS 17.2 update is going to bring a NameDrop-like experience to the iPhone, but this time it will allow people to quickly and easily share things like tickets, passes, and more. The use will be similar in that users will be able to open the wallet app and select the pass that they want to share before moving their iPhone close to that of the recipient. A new Share button will appear and once tapped the item will be automatically shared via AirDrop.

For this to work both iPhones will fo course need to have the iOS 17.2 update installed, and Apple hasn't yet said when that will drop. However, it made the first release candidate version available to developers earlier this week so we can likely expect the update to land on iPhones around the world as soon as next week. Apple is expected to want to get iOS 17.2 into the hands of users before the Christmas holidays.

The future is upon us as a company is planning to open the very first mass-produced humanoid robot factory, designed to assist big companies with dangerous hauling, lifting, and moving.

The new facility will be the first of its kind in the United States and is slated to be constructed in Salem, Oregon. Agility Robotics is behind the project and recently sat down for an interview with Axios about the new facility dubbed "RoboFab". Agility Robotics is behind the humanoid robot called Digit, which is designed for warehouse work and is currently being tested out by Amazon. Ultimately, Agility Robotics has a goal of creating a "general purpose" Digit.

Notably, Agility Robotics has produced approximately 100 robots since it was founded in 2016, but it expects that once the new Oregon facility is completed, it will be able to eventually ramp up to 10,000 robots per year. So, how is Digit doing so far? Amazon is testing one in a laboratory in south Seattle and has said that Digit is able to move, grasp, handle items, move around the warehouse, and its size and shape are perfect for buildings designed for humans.

Following the severing of many notable brands as advertisers on X, the social media platform formerly called Twitter, Elon Musk has continued his tirade of comments aimed directly at Disney CEO Bob Iger.

The latest comments from Musk emerged on his personal X account, where he wrote, "Bob, Iger thinks it's cool to advertise next to child exploitation material. Real stand-up guy." The comment was in reference to a lawsuit filed by Attorney General Raúl Torrez of New Mexico against Meta, which alleges the Mark Zuckerberg-run company isn't doing enough to protect kids on both Instagram and Facebook.

How does this connect to Iger? Musk has pointed out that Disney is still continuing to advertise on Meta despite the allegations against the company. The X owner called for Iger's immediate resignation, writing he should be "fired immediately", and that Walt Disney himself was "turning in his grave over what Bob has done to his company."

NASA has announced it is bringing back to life its iconic space telescope after it experienced a critical glitch with its gyroscope.

It was only a few days ago that the space agency announced that the Hubble Space Telescope had entered safe mode following the detection of a glitch with its gyroscope. The glitch resulted in Hubble sitting in safe mode for some days, and during this period, NASA officials on the ground analyzed the data and worked out the issue. Notably, the gyroscope on the space telescope measures the turn rates of the telescope, which plays a critical role in knowing which way Hubble is facing.

NASA has taken to its website to announce that Hubble's scientific operations are good to continue under "three-gyro control". Furthermore, NASA wrote in its blog post that ground teams performed several tests that led them to decide to operate the space telescope in a higher-precision mode when conducting scientific operations. Lastly, NASA writes that Hubble and its instruments remain stable and healthy.

Light No Fire is the next project from Hello Games. It's set in a vast online-driven multiplayer world that's scaled to be as big as planet Earth, complete with survival and crafting elements.

This time around, the studio is trading sci-fi spaceships and vehicles for flying dragons and mounts. Lasers have been replaced with bows and arrows, and the game has this feeling of grand myth and magic fantasy with Valheim-esque mechanics.

Dishonored and Deathloop developer Arkane Lyon is making a new game based on Marvel's undead vampire hunter, Blade.

It's official: A new Blade game is in development, and Arkane is working on the project. The game is a singleplayer, action-adventure game with a third-person view that touches on violent, mature themes. It seems Marvel is distancing itself as far as it can away from the failure of Square Enix's Avengers live game.

According Blade game director Dinga Bakaba, the Blade game is based on the "wildest take on a superhero we love," but he didn't expand very much on that point.

NVIDIA is working on a new workstation GPU that could be made specifically for China, with a tease of its new RTX 5880 Ada workstation GPU that has been spotted in some new NVIDIA RTX Enterprise drivers.

The new NVIDIA RTX 5880 Ada workstation GPU was spotted inside of the most recent production branch of the NVIDIA RTX Enterprise driver, which is a new workstation card that has been tweaked to comply with the US export restrictions, something that allows NVIDIA to get AD102 GPUs into China. It will join the coming AD102-250 GPU-based GeForce RTX 4090 D, which has also been tweaked to get into China.

US export restrictions first saw the NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada workstation GPU and high-end gaming-focused RTX 4090 banned in China back in November 2023, with NVIDIA working on multiple variants of its workstation and gaming GPUs to comply with the ever-changing landscape of GPUs being banned in China (and other countries around the world).

Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive are likely to delay the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV to much later in the year of its expected release, according to analysts at Bank of America.

The Bank of America dropped its ratings of Grand Theft Auto IV to Neutral from Buy, sparking a market downturn for Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of the highly anticipated game, as it fell 1.5% on Thursday. Notably, current earnings estimates placed the release of GTA 6 in March 2025, per analysts Omar Dessouky and Arthur Chu, but following the release of the insanely popular trailer, Bank of America now believes it "is more likely" the release won't take place until "the end of 2025".

But why is it likely GTA 6 will get delayed? The analysts believe that while the trailer was extremely popular, it didn't contain enough elements that "convinced us the game was well into alpha testing." Another concern was the lack of a PC version launch date, as there was no indication that the PC version would be launching in 2025 alongside the console version.

The new shooter places strong emphasis on teamwork and best usage of advanced tech while tapping into a distinct dystopian futurism where AI and multi-billion dollar companies run amok. The result is a kind of no man's land city where crime runs rampant and players take on the role of mercenaries who pledge allegiance to the highest bidder.

10 Chambers, the studio run by Payday creator Ulf Andersson, just announced a new sci-fi heist game at The Game Awards 2023. We attended a special event in the Unity building in San Francisco to learn more about the FPS thriller.

The devs at 10 Chambers are mostly known for chaotic shooters. The studio made their debut splash in the FPS genre with the horrifying GTFO, which pits players in teams of four up against fearsome monstrosities in a brutal battle for survival, but before that, studio head Ulf Andersson was pioneering the heist genre with the Payday series.

The next game is a bit different and takes the studio back to its roots. It's a high-tech FPS called Den of Wolves, and it's centered around futuristic corpo-espionage and high-stakes combat.

10 Chambers has announced Duality, the final update to its cult hit GTFO.

It's official: After four years of support and 12 free content updates, GTFO's co-op survival story is coming to an end. The brutal FPS unleashed hellish carnage on the market back in 2019, and now 10 Chambers has revealed the very last chapter to GTFO's nail-biting roadmap.

Rundown 8.0: Duality is now live as a free update, and it will punctuate GTFO's narrative storyline as 10 Chambers gears up for its new sci-fi heist game, Den of Wolves. The horrifying live game won't be shuttered any time soon, and the studio plans to support GTFO with bug fixes and tweaks moving forward. That being said, Duality will be the last content update for the game.

Tesla has just lost the project lead for its Dojo supercomputer project, according to "people familiar with the matter" in a new report from Bloomberg.

Ganesh Venkataramanan was the former head of the Dojo supercomputer project at Tesla, in that position for the last five years, leaving Tesla last month in November 2023. Tesla has appointed former Apple executive and director at Tesla for the last seven years, Peter Bannon, to lead the Dojo project.

What is Tesla's new Dojo supercomputer? Tesla announced its in-house Dojo D1 AI processor in August 2021 as a Tesla-designed supercomputer that has been created to train the machine learning models for Tesla's self-driving technology. The Dojo AI processor will take in all of the data captured by the Tesla vehicle you're driving and process it faster than ever before and would lead to the future of self-driving technology in autonomous cars.

Hideo Kojima has formally announced his new Xbox game at The Game Awards 2023.

Hideo Kojima made quite an appearance Keighley's TGA23 showcase. The auteur showed up with Nine Inch Nails' "Came Back Haunted" blaring, walking through a creepy otherworldly doorway that's right out of his new Xbox game.

Kojima's upcoming title is called OD, and he's working alongside horror maven Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us, NOPE) to add a new level of immersivity to the game. OD will star Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer and a very terrified Udo Kier, and is described as a movie-game hybrid.

Ubisoft's Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is one of the last major game releases for PC, and it comes from the team behind The Division franchise - Massive Entertainment. With gameplay set in the world of Pandora, as featured in the visually stunning films from acclaimed director James Cameron, it uses the studio's Snowdrop engine to deliver some incredible visuals.
