Starfield's latest update has finally delivered FSR 3 support for the game, as well as Intel XeSS to boot in something of an upscaling bonanza.

Although the arrival of FSR 3 is going to be too late for many PC gamers, seeing as the player count for the space epic has now dwindled to very small numbers.

Still, better late than never, with the full FSR 3 release coming with the v1.9.67 patch for Starfield. The frame generation tech arrived in beta earlier this month, and Bethesda promised it would be patched in for everyone later in February - which has now happened.

ChatGPT appears to have misfired in spectacular fashion at times since yesterday, and although the gremlins in the works may now have been smoothed over by OpenAI, an official investigation into what caused the problems hasn't yet been concluded.

So, what did go wrong? Well, as you can see in the above post on X (formerly Twitter), the AI started talking complete nonsense, sprinkling in Spanglish, and generally acting highly erratically. There are quite a few reports of this kind of behavior, too.

This is the sort of thing we've seen from AI models before, but usually close to launch, when the products are only just out of testing, and still being honed.

There are specialist game controllers for the likes of flight sims, or driving games, of course - but what about sailing?

Or rather piracy, we should say, because we just caught a glimpse of a controller that we've certainly never seen the likes of before, namely a ship's wheel peripheral for Ubisoft's recently released Skull and Bones.

The teaser video for the wheel (above) shows that it's hand carved, offers the traditional directional pad, buttons, and also velocity paddles - plus there's a button to hit for 'shanty mode' that invokes a sea shanty from the game's library of the ditties.

Tesla has won a trademark dispute with a chicken shop owner located in Northern England after a year of back-and-forth arguments.

The chicken shop owner, Amanj Ali, has his takeaway store located in Bury, Greater Manchester, and in May 2022, Ali filed a trademark for the name of the store. Ali's store was called Tesla Chicken & Pizza, and when he filed the trademark, he cited Nikola Tesla as the inspiration of the name. However, in November 2023, Ali was ordered to pay £4,000, or $5,053 to Tesla for violation of its trademark, which the UK's Intellectual Property Office agreed with.

Despite Tesla originally not objecting to the newly filed trademark by Ali, the chicken shop owner was informed in November 2021 that Tesla had requested international protection for trademarks in the United Kingdom under the food and drink category. Ali opposed the request, and after a year of legal disputes where Tesla claimed Ali's trademark was taking advantage of Tesla's established reputation, the ruling was found in Tesla's favor.

You're probably already familiar with the Apple Music Replay feature because it crops up every year and is designed to give everyone a better idea of all of the music that they have been listening to over the last 12 months. Now, Apple has brought the same feature to those who don't want to have wait quite so long - Apple Music Replay is now available as a monthly collection of songs, too.

As of right now, users can see their monthly listening habits for the first time, offering insights into which music and albums they've been hooked on over the last few weeks.

Finding your monthly Apple Music stats is as simple as you'd expect and all you have to do is log into the replay.music.apple.com website using the Apple ID that your account is linked to. There, you'll find information like the most-listened-to songs while total monthly listening time is also available and milestones will also be celebrated, too.

Last week, a small group of Cybertruck owners took to forums to report tiny orange speckles forming on the exterior of their Cybertruck, which at the time was widely reported as "rusting".

These new Cybertruck owners took some photos of the orange speckling as pictured above, and others referred to the new electric pick-up truck's manual, which states the exterior of the vehicle is subject to contamination. One owner said they were warned by Tesla staff when they were picking up their vehicle that there was a possibility the up to $99,900 vehicle could rust in the rain.

Now, a Tesla engineer who has been at the company for more than 13 years, per his LinkedIn account, has responded to the claims of Cybertruck exteriors rusting. Cybertruck engineer Wes Morrill took to X to say the orange spots some owners are complaining about are actually caused by metal particles either from the manufacturing factory or the railway when they were transported. Morrill further explained that when "free iron" sits on the stainless steel exterior of the Cybertruck, it will "rust", but it is only "surface contamination" that can be "cleaned off easily".

A new study that is yet to be peer-reviewed is claiming astronomers have located an object in deep space that looks similar to a cosmic sandwich.

That object is a star nicknamed "Dracula's Chivito," and according to astronomers behind the discovery the star appears to have "fangs", and was named after a sandwich that's Uruguay's national dish. The team behind the study states the star is still quite young in its development as it's surrounded by a protoplanetary disk that contains high quantities of gas and dust. Additionally, the astronomical object appears side-on from Earth's perspective, giving it a sandwich-like appearance.

According to astronomers, Dracula's Chivito is estimated to have 2.5 solar masses, which means 2.5 times the mass of our Sun, while also having a higher temperature than our Sun at approximately 8,000 Kelvin, versus 5,788 Kelvin. The researchers wrote that Dracula's Chivito is the "largest edge-on protoplanetary disk discovered to date" as it is 1,650 astronomical units (AU) in size (1AU = the distance between Earth and the Sun). Additionally, astronomers estimated Dracula's Chivito protoplanetary disk is about 0.2 solar masses.

In a new article published by The Guardian, Tom Lamont, the author of the piece, set out to talk to as many AI doomsayers as possible.

While the entire article is certainly an interesting read, one quote, in particular, stood out from the bunch of experts Lamont spoke to. Eliezer Yudkowsky, an AI researcher that Lamont said was the most pessimistic about the future of AI implementation out of the researchers he spoke to, and according to Yudkowsky, humanity has a "shred of a chance" at surviving what's coming.

Yudkowsky is the lead researcher at a nonprofit called Machine Intelligence Research Institute in Berkeley, California, and according to the interview, if Yudkowsky was "put to a wall" and forced to give probabilities on what the future entails, "I have a sense that our current remaining timeline looks more like five years than 50 years. Could be two years, could be 10." The two were discussing the context of how long until humanity faces a Terminator-like apocalypse or Matrix hellscape.

Elon Musk has said the first human patient to receive a Neuralink brain chip implant was able to control a mouse successfully.

It was on January 30 that Musk announced the first human to receive an implant from Neuralink, Musk's brain-chip implant company. At the time, Musk said the initial results from the brain-chip implant showed "promising neuron spike detection". For those who aren't sure what that exactly means, the National Institute of Health explains that cells use electrical and chemical signals to send information around the brain and body. These signals appear as spikes when fired by a neuron.

Additionally, Musk wrote on the same day he announced the first brain-chip patient transplant was successful that Neuralink will enable "control of your phone or computer, and through them almost any device, just by thinking". Now reports indicate the first brain-chip patient seems to have made a full recovery, with "no ill effects that we are aware of," per Musk in a recent Spaces event on X. Furthermore, Musk said the patient is able to "move a mouse around the screen by just thinking."

SpaceX's Falcon 9 launched Houston-based company Intuitive Machines' Odysseus lunar lander on February 15 and now the lander has snapped some awesome images of Earth on its way to the surface of the Moon.

The Odysseus lunar lander completed two engine burns in deep space on February 16 and February 18, and according to reports from Intuitive Machines the lander is currently on track to reach the surface of the Moon on February 22. The next challenge for Intuitive Machines is to successfully place the Odysseus into "lunar orbit insertion," which is when the lander will fire up its engines and place itself in orbit around the Moon. This event is expected to take place on February 21.

Intuitive Machines is targeting a small crater approximately 190 miles from the Moon's south pole. This location isn't irrelevant as its about the same location as where NASA intends to land astronauts under its Artemis program, specifically Artemis 3 which is expected to make its landing sometime in 2026. Odysseus is bringing six NASA instruments to the lunar surface which will gather data on a variety of different aspects of not only the landing but also the lunar surface.

A team of researchers penned a new paper published in the scientific journal Nature that warns parts of the Amazon rainforest are reaching a "tipping point".

The international team of researchers behind this study outlined that up to 47% of the Amazon rainforest is currently under threat of increased temperatures, droughts, fires, and deforestation - all of which are pushing the iconic location to the "tipping point."

The dangers of the Amazon rainforest reaching this critical threshold aren't exclusive to the Amazonian rainforest, as rainforests enrich the air with moisture, which forms the basis of precipitation, meaning if one part of the Amazon rainforest hits this "tipping point," it can create a self-propelling feedback loop affecting, potentially resulting in other areas of the rainforest, or other rainforests across the continent losing forests.

The benchmarking involved testing the handhelds at different power levels, which is one of the most important parts of a gaming handheld: power levels and what drains the battery (and provides the most performance on the go). Ten years ago, NVIDIA's Maxwell architecture debuted in February 2014 with the GeForce GTX 750 Series - introducing an 'all-new design for the Streaming Multiprocessor (SM)' on a cutting-edge (for the time) 28nm process.

The first GPUs to adopt the new architecture were designed primarily for efficiency, with the GM107 chip seen in the GeForce GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti bringing massive efficiency gains compared to the previous Kepler architecture.

The Maxwell architecture is also in the NVIDIA Tegra X1 SOC for mobile devices, which pairs Maxwell-based graphics with ARM CPU clusters. In addition to appearing in NVIDIA's Android-based Shield TV hardware, the Tegra X1 (or a custom version) would eventually make its way into the Nintendo Switch.

NVIDIA will have its earnings release tomorrow, but ahead of that, Wall Street is increasing its future NVIDIA share price expectations; now we've got Baird increasing its target price for NVIDIA stock from $750 to $1050.

Baird's new predictions on NVIDIA shares are very, very favorable for the AI GPU leader, representing a 44% hike from their historic highs already. Baird isn't the only financial firm to do this, last week saw Goldman Sachs increasing their NVIDIA share price target by 28%.

Baird analysts explained: "Per our Asia field trip, demand for NVIDIA's AI solutions remains unabated, with momentum from enterprise customers now rapidly building. Upcoming Blackwell architecture will drive another significant step up in performance, while ASPs will increase as well. According to a new report at Bloomberg, Reddit has signed an AI content licensing deal that will see the social media company receive $60 million annually. For a cool $60 million, an unnamed AI company will get access to every Reddit post and thread for AI model training.

The move comes as a way to boost interest in the upcoming Reddit IPO - with the report stating that Reddit informed potential investors of the $60 million contract earlier this year. Citing sources "familiar with the matter" will give an unknown generative AI model access to decades worth of data, images, clips, and conversations.

Reddit is one of the most popular social destinations on the internet, so a deal like this makes sense when generative AI models need as much data as possible to train on. Until now, using data freely available on the internet (like Reddit posts) has been a go-to for many AI models (including OpenAI's GPT-2), so it's only natural to see money changing hands.

AMD's next-gen Zen 6-based consumer processors are sounding exciting, with new rumors suggesting the codenamed "Medusa" CPUs will feature next-gen RDNA 5 integrated GPUs and 2.5D interconnects, moving away from the traditional multi-die design.

In a new post on X, leaker Everest said that Medusa features an integrated RDNA 5 GPU, which sees AMD skipping over RDNA 4 for Zen 6. Medusa is the codename of the Zen 6 client processors, and the leaker previously teased that Medusa will be using a 2.5D interconnect with "much higher bandwidth".

AMD's next-gen Zen 5 architecture will be unleashed later this year with both the Granite Ridge and Strix Point APU families, with Granite Ridge CPUs featuring integrated RDNA 2-based GPU, as both architectures share the same I/O die where the GPU is located. AMD's next-gen Strix Point APU will feature an upgraded Navi 3.5 (RDNA 3.5) GPU design that we can't wait to see what can do on an APU.
