Gamers think Halo Infinite should be delayed to get co-op campaign
Many gamers think Halo Infinite should be delayed so it can launch as a complete package with co-op campaign and forge included.
Yesterday 343 Industries confirmed Halo Infinite will be missing two big features when it launches in Holiday 2021: Co-operative campaign on both PC and consoles, and Forge, the toolset used to make custom games and maps. These features have been delayed by up to half a year.
343i says it plans to release co-campaign 3 months after launch, and forge is coming six months after launch. That's if everything goes according to plan, and with live games, things usually don't (just ask BioWare with Anthem or Bethesda with Fallout 76). That means Halo Infinite will be the first mainline Halo FPS not to launch with co-op campaign on consoles, and that the game will technically release as an incomplete package.

Activision basically only makes Call of Duty games now
Activision is basically a Call of Duty factory now--how soon until the billion-dollar publisher hits a wall?
Activision is going all-in on Call of Duty, complete with annualized releases, Warzone, and new mobile games. The IP far and away its most lucrative franchise, and the company has conscripted all of its major studios to contribute with big mainline releases.
Call of Duty Vanguard, this year's new WWII-themed shooter, is no different. Vanguard's campaign and multiplayer is principally developed by Sledgehammer games, but Treyarch made the zombies mode and Raven Software is leading Vanguard's Warzone integration. All of these studios are very busy, and by November 2021, three games will connect to Warzone--Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard.

Halo Infinite is the first Halo FPS to launch without campaign co-op
Halo Infinite will only have singleplayer campaign when it launches this Holiday season.
Halo Infinite won't have campaign co-op play at launch, becoming the first Halo game in the entire franchise to break this long-running tradition. Campaign co-operative play is being delayed a minimum of 3 months after launch and will instead release sometime in 2022, during Infinite's second season.
The reason? Co-op simply isn't ready yet due to the complexities of Halo Infinite's nonlinear Far Cry-esque campaign structure. The game is actually more reminiscent of an RPG now, complete with lots of replayability and gun/character upgrades.

Bethesda's controversial paid mods find new home in Skyrim remaster
It's 2021, and Skyrim is being re-released for the sixth time to celebrate the RPG's huge 10-year anniversary. The new re-release carries forward one of Bethesda's most unpopular decisions to help breathe new life into the game.
Skyrim's new Anniversary Edition comes packed with 78 of the best Creation Club mods available for the game, which means the contentious program is being propagated with the new release.
The Creation Club program was massively controversial when it launched in 2017. Many saw that Bethesda was trying to sell paid mods to console and PC gamers who could literally enjoy the same content for free on both platforms. The idea was to give mod creators a way to monetize their creations and kick back something extra for Bethesda in the process. This was during the company's messy time of strange monetization tactics, which found their way into lackluster games like The Elder Scrolls Blades, and Fallout 76, which charges a premium for the kind of in-game cosmetics that Fallout 4 players can get for free.

New Halo Infinite beta: 4v4 PVP and 12v12 big team battle chaos
The content in the next Halo Infinite beta has been confirmed by 343 Industries...and this one is going to be good.
Halo Infinite will get at least another wide-scale flighting test before launch, 343i today announced. This time around the beta will feature PVP baked right in and players will have an array of gametypes to choose from.
The next Infinite test will have the bots and weapon drills featured in the technical test, along with live human-on-human FPS carnage with 4v4 PVP and even big team battle. 343i has previously confirmed Infinite's BTB will feature 12v12 matches, up from the classic 8v8 in previous Halo games.

7 million people made Epic accounts to grab GTA V for free
Epic's freebie strategy is working and millions of people are signing up every month to grab free games.
The Epic Games Store hasn't been profitable since launch. Epic is first focusing on building out a playerbase and then moving to long-term profits. To help build out a playerbase outside of Fortnite users, Epic has created two loss-leading initiatives: huge multi-million dollar deals to snag PC exclusives and monthly promotional freebies, not unlike those on Xbox LIVE Gold and PlayStation Plus. The freebies are working quite well, especially in the case of GTA V.
According to new court documents from the Epic vs Apple case, over 7 million people signed up for new Epic Games Store accounts to grab Grand Theft Auto V for free.

The new Saints Row is a reboot and not a sequel
The next Saints Row game will be revealed at Gamescom's Opening Night Live event this Wednesday, and it's not what we expected.
Volition's new Saints Row game isn't a sequel like Saints Row V, but a reboot of the hilarious crime-addled franchise. The developers teased the reboot on the Saints Row webpage but didn't make any major announcements or feature reveals--the team is saving that for the Gamescom event.
So when is the game coming out? Probably not until 2022. Neither Embracer nor Koch Media (Deep Silver's parent company) have disclosed any new info, and Embracer's latest financials don't give that many clues. In March 2021, Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors said FY2022 (ending March 2022) will be the company's best year, driven by "numerous significant releases towards the second half of the year."

Skyrim has been released 7 times in the last 10 years
With over 30 million sales across half a dozen re-releases, Skyrim is one of Bethesda's biggest cash crops. A new harvest is coming in 2021.
Skyrim will turn 10 years old in November. Bethesda is celebrating by re-releasing the game for the sixth time on a new generation of consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S). The new Skyrim Anniversary Collection features a ton of Creation Club mods and upgrades on next-gen console hardware. Like Grand Theft Auto V, Skyrim will also have spanned three major console gens in 2021.
Taking a look back at Skyrim's timeline shows impressive sales elasticity across multiple platforms. In November, Skyrim will have released seven times in the last 10 years, including six re-releases across Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and even console and PC VR headsets.

Halo beta test was two months old, big perf jumps coming to final game
Halo Infinite's final release will perform a lot better than the insider flight, 343i confirms.
In a recent dev update, 343i says the Halo Infinite insider test flight was two months old and that the game will perform much better at launch. Since time works differently in game dev--two months can lead to radical changes--343i says playing the flight was like going back in time. This is to be expected because the test was a technical run to flex the infrastructure and network systems.
In the dev update, 343i live ops producer Sam Hanshaw confirmed a 20% perf gain on PC: "One of the things that was pretty painful for everyone was a misconfiguration in how the executable was running. That was resulting in about a 20% performance drop. That's been addressed, and gamers can expect at least a 20% improvement in performance. We also had issues with GTX 900 series graphics cards."

New next-gen Skyrim re-release coming to PS5, Series X, PC in November
It's been 10 years since Skyrim released. You know what that means--time for another port.
Surprise: Skyrim is being re-released on next-gen consoles. At Quakecon, Bethesda announced two bits of Skyrim news: A free next-gen upgrade for anyone who owns Skyrim Special Edition on PS4 and Xbox One, and a fully-fledged new Skyrim Anniversary Edition SKU.
The Anniversary Edition will be a separate paid re-release but Special Edition owners can pay to upgrade to the new version.

Tesla's insane new Dojo D1 AI chip, a full transcript of its unveiling
My name is Ganesh [Venkataramanan, Tesla director and Dojo boss] and I lead Dojo. It's an honor to present this project on behalf of the multi-disciplinary Tesla team that is working on this project.
As you saw from Milan, there's an insatiable demand for speed, actualized capacity for neural network training -- and Elon prefetched this, and a few years back he asked us to design a super-fast training computer, and that's how we started Project Dojo.
Our goal is to achieve best AI training performance and support all these larger, more complex models that Andre's team are dreaming of and be power-efficient, and cost-effective at the same time. So we thought about how to build this, and we came up with a Distributed Compute Architecture.

This car will offer human-like emotions with a personal AI assistant
A car manufacturer is implementing into its vehicles an artificial intelligence (AI) personal assistant that is designed to respond like a human.
That car company is MG, and the vehicle the artificial intelligence personal assistant will be in is the new MG Astor SUV. The company behind the car has said that the new AI personal assistant is a "first for any car globally" and is designed to offer what is described as human-like emotional responses. The AI personal assistant will be able to engage in a conversation with the driver and answer questions about any topic with its answered being sourced from Wikipedia.
According to MG, the AI personal assistant will be able to speak, listen, react and look at the driver when it's spoken to - it can even mimic the driver. MG says that the AI personal assistant will also be able to read drivers the news, complete commands such as opening the sunroof, and even provide driving advice after it has learned the driver's driving pattern. If you are interested in learning more about this feature or the MG Astor SUV as a whole, check out this link here.

SpaceX Starlink satellites responsible for most close orbit encounters
Space junk will increasingly become a larger issue as humans continue to launch more objects into space.
One of the main components to reducing the amount of space debris floating around our planet is to ensure that satellites already positioned in orbit don't collide with each other. According to Hugh Lewis, the head of the Astronautics Research Group at the University of Southampton, U.K, SpaceX's Starlink satellites are responsible for half of all encounters between two space crafts.
Lewis also says that Starlink satellites are involved in around 1,600 close encounters per week. A "close encounter" is defined by two spacecrafts passing each other within 0.6 miles. Lewis is also the leading expert on space debris in Europe and said, "I have looked at the data going back to May 2019 when Starlink was first launched to understand the burden of these megaconstellations. Since then, the number of encounters picked up by the Socrates database has more than doubled and now we are in a situation where Starlink accounts for half of all encounters."

NASA will attempt to deflect an asteroid, impact to happen next fall
NASA is going to attempt to deflect an asteroid with something the space agency has been working on for more than two years.
NASA calls it the "Double Asteroid Redirection Test," or DART for short, and the mission involves NASA launching a spacecraft that will rocket towards the Didymos binary asteroid and collide with it. NASA wants to test if the impact of the spacecraft colliding with the asteroid will be enough to alter its course. It should be noted that the asteroid doesn't currently pose any threat to Earth and that NASA is purely conducting this mission for research purposes.
According to NASA's latest update on DART, the spacecraft recently received solar arrays that will be a core component to getting the spacecraft all the way to the Didmos asteroid system. The spacecraft will travel for ten months to reach the asteroid system and will launch aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket this November. When the spacecraft collides with the asteroid, it will be traveling at around 15,000 mph, and NASA will have Earth-based telescopes aimed at the asteroid for clear observation.

One of 2021's rarest Moons is happening this week, the 'Blue Moon'
Over the weekend, you will be able to look up into the night sky and see one of the rarest full moons of the entire year.
So, what is a Blue Moon? The name "Blue Moon" was given to the moon for how extra full it looks in the sky during a certain period of time during the year. As for an official definition, a moon is deemed a "Calendrical Blue Moon" when there's a second full moon within the same month. Additionally, there is a "Seasonal Blue Moon", which is when there is a second full moon within an astronomical season, such as the Fall Equinox, the Winter Solstice, the Spring Equinox, and the Summer Solstice.
As for August's Blue Moon, it will be at its peak on Sunday, August 22, at at 8:02 a.m. Eastern, however, it will still be visible on the night of August 21 for those that wish to stay up late rather than getting up early on August 22. It should also be noted that the moon won't actually appear a blue color, which is no doubt disappointing for some excited people. If you are interested in reading more about this story, check out this link here.

Intelligence official says she met with aliens at their hidden US base
A woman has conducted a news conference in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C, where she said that she has met aliens at their base in the United States.
Angelia Lynn Johnston, who is going by the alias Anjali, held a news conference in front of the Lincoln Memorial where she explained that she has been in contact with aliens at their base located in the Mojave Desert. Johnston also claimed that she will be bringing astronauts and scientists to the secret base to meet with the "higher beings".
Johnston also claims that she is a retired defense intelligence officer who met two strangers who showed her the tunnels to the alien base. Upon entering the tunnels, Johnston says she met two alien life forms from two separate races who communicated with her telepathically (via her consciousness). The news conference was produced by TT Products, who will be following up with Johnston on her story.

Elon Musk announces Tesla is BUILDING A ROBOT in human form
Elon Musk hosted his new Tesla AI Day today, and the huge multi-hour show is worth a watch and has some incredible technology that was teased -- but one of them is that Tesla is building its own robot, the Tesla Bot.
The new Tesla Bot is 5'8" and weighs 125 pounds, it is built from "lightweight materials" and has "human-level hands". There are 40 electromechanical actuators through the arms, neck, torso, hands, and legs which will make the Tesla Bot the most human-looking and moving robot yet.
Inside, there's next-gen AI inside with Tesla's FSD (Full-Self Driving) computer inside of the Tesla Bot, with autopilot cameras feeding into neural networks with neural net planning allowing the robot to be the most advanced robot on Earth. Musk said that they wanted to build a robot that would navigate the world that was built for humans, but they made it small enough and weak enough that you'll be able to overpower it or outrun it -- probably.

OnlyFans will ban sexually explicit videos starting in October
OnlyFans will be changing in a huge way starting October 1, 2021 when sexually explicit material will be banned from its website, with "sexually explicit conduct" no longer allowed to be posted.
Creators will be able to post nude photos and videos, but it will have to be under the new rules within OnlyFans' new policy. The thing is, no one knows what that policy is just yet -- nudity is still allowed, but sexually explicit conduct is banned. Confused face.
Recently, payment companies like Visa and MasterCard have been acting as much larger gatekeepers between consumers and companies, with updated requirements for banks that process payments for websites that offer and sell adult content.

Intel's new XeSS upscaling tech will also work on Radeon, GeForce GPUs
Intel has confirmed and better detailed its XeSS AI-based super-sampling technology, which will debut with its Xe GPU architecture and new ARC Alchemist graphics cards dropping in 2022 and beyond.
The new Intel XeSS upscaling technology will use either the XMX instruction set on the new ARC Alchemist graphics cards and DG2 GPUs, or the DP4a instructions which are on the integrated GPUs on Intel's new chips based on the Xe-LP architecture. But not only that, it'll also work on the NVIDIA Pascal GP102-106 GPU.
Intel has said that it will be opening up its XeSS upscaling tech to game developers and its competitors in the GPU market, with XeSS going open-source. This means we should expect Intel's new XeSS technology to work with many more NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon GPUs.
