AMD had some big reveals at Computex 2024 including its next-gen Zen 5 architecture, but new AI accelerators were also teased. This includes the Instinct MI325X "CDNA 3", the MI350X "CDNA 4" and the next-gen MI400 "CDNA Next" AI accelerators for data centers, and the cloud.

AMD's new Instinct MI325X AI accelerator will use the same CDNA 3 architecture as the just-launched Instinct MI300 series AI accelerators, with a monster 288GB of HBM3E memory with up to 6TB/sec of memory bandwidth. We'll see 1.3 PFLOPs of FP16, and up to 2.6 PFLOPs of FP8 compute performance, with up to 1 trillion parameters per server.

Streamplify has only been in the live streaming scene since 2022, but they're about to change things up with their new CAM PRO, a new 4K webcam that will retail for under $100.

Streamplify announced the new MIC PRO, CAM PRO, and CAPTURE 4K products at Computex 2024, with the second-generation iterations marking a "significant step forward for the brand" both in terms of quality and specifications, while maintaining that affordable price range.

The new Streamplify CAM PRO is the company's first entry into the realm of 4K webcams, which is set to retail for under $100. The company says we can expect "exceptional performance" through offering stunning 4K 30FPS and 1080p 60FPS video capture.

AeroCool has plenty to announce at Computex 2024, with the introduction of its new high-end APNX line, upgraded AIO liquid coolers, new cases, new case fans, and new power supplies.

AeroCool has been in the industry for over 20 years, building out affordable, high-value products, with AeroCool products in over 50 countries. Not only that, but AeroCool is now a member of the Pro Gamers Group (PGG) alliance -- represented by Pro Gamersware (PGW) at Computex 2024.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has said that he wants to buy 300,000 of NVIDIA's new Blackwell B200 AI GPUs to train xAI by next summer.

In a new post on X, Musk said that the new B200 AI GPUs will be a (huge) upgrade to the X's current AI GPU cluster, which is powered by 100,000 previous-gen Hopper H100 AI GPUs.

NVIDIA's new Blackwell B200 AI GPU has around 4x the AI training performance of H100, and an incredible 30x the inference performance. NVIDIA's new Blackwell B200 AI GPU uses more power than H100... an important part to remember when you've got hundreds of thousands of power-hungry AI GPUs in an AI supercomputer cluster. But, the monster performance improvements are worth it.

NVIDIA's next-gen Blackwell gaming GPUs are keenly anticipated, of course, and while Computex 2024 didn't give us any of the details on RTX 5000 that we wanted, a leaker has stepped into the breach with some fresh nuggets of rumors.

This comes from well-known leaker Kopite7kimi on X (formerly Twitter) who fired off a couple of posts, one of which called NVIDIA's Computex keynote boring, while imparting something more interesting - the mentioned purported details on GB202 and GB203 - in a further tweet (can we still call them tweets?).

Kopite7kimi tells us that we will only see GB202 and GB203, the GPUs for the RTX 5090 and 5080 respectively, this year - and all the other Blackwell graphics cards are coming next year. (At least that's what we expect the leaker means by outside the short term).

You might be asking yourself a single-word question right now: Ceraluminum? The outer lid of the stylish and sleek new Copilot+ AI PC from ASUS, the Zenbook S16, is made from this exclusive new material that "blends the beauty and feel of ceramic with the strength of aluminum." And with a name like that, it also sounds like it was harvested from Pandora, the fictional planet from the Avatar movies. According to ASUS, Ceraluminum is extremely durable but with a more elegant look and feel.

Okay, with that out of the way, you're looking at an impressively specced 16-inch laptop. With a slim 1.1cm profile, it's thinner than the latest MacBook Pro while weighing only 1.5kg - which is impressive for a 16-inch device. ASUS has managed this by custom engineering a 3D vapor chamber cooling system that's just 0.1cm thick, with CNC machine-etched water and dustproof holes near the keyboard to maximize airflow.

The Zenbook S16 Copilot+ AI PC features the latest AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, with a powerful 50 TOPS of AI performance NPU running at just 28W. Throw in up to 2TB of storage, up to 32GB of LPDDR5 memory, and a 3K 16:10 120 Hz panel, and it's as impressive under the hood as it is stylish.

ASUS has announced a new line-up of Copilot+ PCs that come in various form factors and all of them are Copilot+ certified.

Computex 2024 has officially begun with ASUS revealing its new line of Copilot+ PCs, with some of the new laptops being designed for gaming, creatives, and a little bit of both. At the top of ASUS's stack of Copilot+ gaming laptop is the Zephyrus G16, and for creatives is the Zenbook S 16. More specifically, ASUS has announced a new range of ProArt Copilot+ laptops that are designed for creatives - the ProArt P16, ProArt PX13 and ProArt PZ13.

The ProArt P16 clamshell laptop and ProArt PX13 come with an up to AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics. Additionally, each of these creative-focussed laptops come with an NPU capable of 50 TOPS of AI-driven performance, while the RTX 4070 is capable of delivering 321 TOPS for the more demanding AI tasks. The 16-inch ProArt P16 is just 14.9mm thin and weighs 1.85kg. The 13-inch ProArt PX13 is even lighter at 1.38kg, while the ProArt PZ13 is even lighter again at 0.85kg.

The ASUS ROG Azoth gaming keyboard, which we reviewed last year, earned our Editor's Choice award due to its features, performance, excellent type-feel, and hot-swappable pre-lubed ROG NX mechanical switches (Linear). At Computex 2024, the follow-up is making a play to be one of the very best 75% TKL gaming keyboards available - and from what we've seen so far, it could very well hit those heights.

Computex 2024 has started and unsurprisingly it's inundated with artificial intelligence powered devices, particularly Copilot+ laptops.

ASUS has kicked off the technology trade show by showcasing its latest range of AI-powered TUF Gaming laptops, which will all be coming with AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor that ushers in a 50 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU) - a piece of hardware dedicated to running AI-based tasks. The TUF Gaming line is designed to be a more affordable solution compared to ASUS's ROG line, which is why we are seeing cut-down version of the ROG Zephyrus G16.

The TUF Gaming laptops arrive in two variants the A16 and A14, with the A14 being the least powerful of the two. With that being said both of these laptops, while being able to carry out AI-based tasks through Windows Copilot+ are more than capable of running the latest games at considerable framerates.

Computex 2024 has kicked off with the artificial intelligence-powered boom and leading the charge is ASUS with its new Copilot+ laptops.

ASUS was kind enough to invite us to their headquarters in Taipei for a tour where they demoed their new ROG Zephyrus G16. The AI-powered laptop comes with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and an Neural Processing Unit (NPU) with 50 TOPS of power. The NPU along with at least 16GB of RAM means the ROG Zephyrus G16 meets Microsoft's specification requirements for it be a Copilot+-certified PC.

Other specifications are as follows: ROG Nebula OLED panel with G-Sync, up to a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU that has 321 TOPS of advanced AI performance, tri-fan technology, new fiber and mesh heat pipes and fans, and an ultra-thin chassis measuring just 1.49cm thick and weighing 1.85kg (16-inch model).

We are only a matter of hours away from Computex 2024 officially starting, but we have managed to get a sneak peak at what Cooler Master has in store for the trade show in terms of new gaming monitor offerings.

The primarily cooling and PC case manufacturer is showcasing a behemoth gaming monitor at their booth this year, and at the time of the sighting there wasn't any specification information on the product available. However, the currently unannounced gaming monitor will measure 57-inches and is a Dual UHD gaming panel, which means its resolution will be 7680 x 2160, making it dual 4K, or DUHD.

Additionally, the back of the monitor revealed the curvature which is 1000R - a very extreme, but necessary curvature considering the overall size of the display. Due to the lack of official details on the new display I had to do some digging into what panel is being used here. It appears Cooler Master is using the same 57-inch panel that is present in the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9, which is also a dual 4K panel that uses Quantum Mini-LED.

ASUS has officially announced the ROG Ally X, an updated, refined, and more powerful version of its Windows PC gaming handheld that debuted last year. The big hardware revisions boost performance outside of the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, which remains unchanged. And it begins with double the battery capacity to an impressive 80 Wh.

The ROG Ally X will ship with 24GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory, which is not only larger in capacity but also faster. ASUS notes that as the Ryzen SoC with RDNA graphics shares the same pool of memory as the full system, the increased capacity and speed deliver better GPU performance when gaming.

Storage is also getting an upgrade, with 1TB of SSD available using the common M.2 2280 form factor found in gaming desktops. This offers an easy and more affordable upgrade path for gamers who need to install several Call of Duty-sized titles. The motherboard has been redesigned to accommodate the change in the storage form factor, a philosophy that applies to the entire handheld.

At Computex 2024, AMD's big Radeon announcement wasn't RDNA 4 or the next-gen desktop Radeon RX 8800 XT for PC gaming but a new dual-slot GPU for workstations and generative AI workflows. The AMD Radeon PRO W7900 Dual Slot (with blower fan) is a sleek and powerful unit with 48GB GDDR6 and up to 864 GB/s of bandwidth.

This is a smaller version of the triple-slot Radeon PRO W7900, making it a better fit for workstations with limited space and unlocking the full potential of RDNA 3 and the Navi 31 GPU. Other specs include 192 RDNA 3 AI Accelerators, 123 TFLOPS of FP16 peak half-precision performance, and a 295W Total Board Power rating. As a two-slot GPU, the length is 280mm, the same as the previous triple-slot edition.

Performance-wise, AMD is touting up to 52% better performance per dollar (this thing has an MSRP of $3,499 USD) than the NVIDIA RTX 6000 ADA GPU - partly because NVIDIA's AI monster costs around $6,800, almost double.

AMD has announced its new chips for Copilot+ AI PCs, the latest AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series, at Computex. These chips deliver 50 TOPS of AI performance with next-gen Zen 5 CPU Cores and beefed-up RDNA 3.5 graphics. The latter will make these chips great for PC gaming on compact machines - especially handhelds!

As part of its presentation comparing the performance between the flagship Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and the Snapdragon X Elite Arm-based SoC with built-in GPU, AMD notes a 60% performance increase in favor of Ryzen using the 3DMark Night Raid Graphics benchmark.

This is partly due to the fact that it's an x86 chip without an emulation layer, but the performance increase also comes from the 16 Compute Units, up from 12 CUs in the previous gen Ryzen 7040 Series and Ryzen 8040 Series.

With the new Ryzen 9000 Series, led by the flagship Ryzen 9 9950X, AMD is introducing the new X870 and X870E motherboard chipsets. These are expected to launch alongside the new Zen 5 CPUs in July, with several board partners on board (heh) to deliver the latest in AM5 platform technology. So, what's new?

With X870 and X870E, USB 4 and PCIe Gen 5 storage and graphics are now standard. More importantly, for PC gamers and enthusiasts, X870 introduces and expands AMD EXPO memory overclocking to support faster DDR5 speeds.

"We learned some lessons with the 600 Series [of motherboards]; memory technology has come a lot further, so we should be able to clock a little higher." Unfortunately, no specifics, supported overclocked speeds, or timings were given - this will come later.

AMD's AI processing for laptops and portable devices is leveling up big time with the new Ryzen AI 300 Series, powered by Zen 5, XDNA 2, and RDNA 3.5 graphics. Described as the 'World's Best Processor for Copilot+ PCs,' they launch in July with two models - the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and the Ryzen AI 9 365.

Yes, the new naming for AMD's SoCs is real and works like this: Ryzen AI is the new brand name denoting a powerful dedicated NPU (here, it's the third-gen XDNA 2), 300 is the series, and the 9 HX stuff is the model info that AMD traditionally puts at the end of Ryzen CPU model naming.

With AMD's third-generation XDNA 2 NPU technology, Ryzen AI 300 Series processors are Copilot+ ready. The impressive 50 TOPS of AI performance push them past the Snapdragon X Elite, Intel's next-gen Lunar Lake, and Apple's M4 chips. This is a massive increase from the 10 TOPS for the Ryzen 7040 Series and 16 TOPS for the Ryzen 8040 Series.

At Computex 2024, AMD has formally announced its next-generation desktop CPUs, the new Ryzen 9000 Series, which will launch in July with four models. Powered by the next-gen Zen 5 architecture, AMD noted in its presentation to the press that this was more than a "trivial update" for Zen but a "sweeping update" with advances that deliver 2X data and instruction bandwidth and, of course, big performance gains for AI.

AMD says there's an average 16% IPC uplift compared to Zen 4, with the chart outlining the improvement across a range of gaming, rendering, and other CPU workloads. Far Cry 6 sees a 10% uplift on the low-end, and Octane and Cinebench R23 are in the middle with 16% and 17%, respectively. On the high-end, you've got Blender with an impressive 23% uplift and Geekbench 5.4 with a massive 35%. Zen 5 is a definite step up from Zen 4.

The four models that are set to debut in July are AM5 ready: the flagship AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X. One of the other big things with Zen 5 is that the performance increases come with an improvement in power efficiency, with the Ryzen 9 9950X (16 Cores/32 Threads) featuring a 170W TDP, which is on par with the Zen 4 Ryzen 9 7950X.
