AMD has just launched its new Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.3.1 drivers, with the company offering up to 6% performance increases on a Radeon RX 480 8GB graphics card - when compared to the previous 17.2.1 drivers.

AMD is also providing support for Ghost Recon Wildlands, with multi-GPU issues present - CrossFire owners will see flickering, or the game not launching at all. There should be a new driver that will fix multi-GPU issues in Wildlands soon. The new Crimson ReLive Edition 17.3.1 drivers fix various flickering texture issues in Battlefield 1, texture/character model flickering in For Honor, stuttering issues in CS:GO when using Radeon Chill, and stuttering issues in DOTA 2 with ReLive enabled.

Inno3D is the latest to be showing off its upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards, with a tease of their new GTX 1080 Ti iChill X3 and X4 graphics cards, each featuring the tweaked 11GB of GDDR5X clocked at 11Gbps.

The new Inno3D GTX 1080 Ti iChill X3 and X4 will feature the company's flagship iChill cooling solution, which provides cooler temperatures and a quieter operating card. Inno3D will be using the Herculez Armor backplate for cooler temps and protection from any damage on the back of the card.

Ken Wong, Inno3D's Product Manager explains: "I believe gamers will love our new iChiLL gaming GPU. The entire series of GeForce GTX 1080 Ti comes with extreme performance, and we have used the highest quality components worthy of such a product. The iChiLL cooling solution makes the INNO3D custom-built graphics card to be the perfect weapon for every gamer".

We're slowly getting introduced to the AIB partner GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card, but EVGA has put some serious work into its upcoming GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 with a slick new look.

EVGA will be using its new ICX cooler on the GTX 1080 Ti FTW3, which is why we have a totally new look - with many different technologies inside that provide you with higher stability and thermal monitoring of EVGA's card. There's a fully custom design here with modified power delivery, so expect some great overclocks on the GTX 1080 Ti FTW3.

AMD unveiled their next-gen Radeon RX Vega graphics card family during their Capsaicin & Cream event at GDC 2017 last week, but the rumbles of their upcoming Radeon RX 580 aren't going away anytime soon.

AMD will be launching the Radeon RX 580 in just a few weeks time on April 4, according to the latest rumors - with the Radeon RX 570 to debut at the same time. According to the same rumor, AMD will launch the lower-end Radeon RX 560 and RX 550 graphics cards on April 11. All of them are expected to be rebrands, and slight tweaks of the current-gen Radeon RX 400 series cards.

The Radeon RX 580 will reportedly be a rebranded RX 480 with slightly tweaked GPU speeds of 1340MHz, a 74MHz bump from the RX 480 - while the RX 570 will be 38MHz faster than the RX 470. The Radeon RX 570 and RX 580 will be available in both 4GB, and 8GB variants.

MSI had some of the best GeForce GTX 10 series cards over the last year, and now they're teasing what will be the most powerful graphics card in their arsenal - the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X graphics card.

We will enjoy cooler temperatures and much quieter fan operation thanks to the Twin Frozr VI cooler, with RGB LEDs that'll keep your system looking great. MSI should provide a full cover backplate, memory cooling plate, and PWM heat sink. While NVIDIA's own GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition will hit 2GHz, we should expect a little more out of MSI's custom card - and a cooler running card, too.

MSI's upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X will come with the same 11GB of GDDR5X at 11Gbps (seriously, seriously fast VRAM) and it will be faster than NVIDIA's Titan X, which costs $1200.

NVIDIA Editor's Day 2017 - During NVIDIA's Editor's Day at GDC 2017, the company didn't just unveil their new super-beast graphics card in the form of the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti - but also the price drops on the GTX 1080 (with the faster 11Gbps GDDR5X memory) and the faster GTX 1060 (with 9Gbps GDDR5).

On top of that, the company also revealed its DX12 performance improvements over the last few months - all through driver updates. NVIDIA provided some performance numbers of their games running on a GeForce GTX 1080 at 4K, with games like The Division, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Gears of War 4, and more.

The biggest gains come from Rise of the Tomb Raider and Hitman - with performance improvements of 33% and 23%, respectively. NVIDIA compared the performance of the game on release, against the latest drivers, with some impressive performance increases. Things will only continue to improve in DX12 for GeForce gamers into the future.

GDC 2017 - Radeon Technologies Boss, and self proclaimed ice cream connoisseur announced during AMD's second annual Capsaicin & Cream event that the company has been working on improving the multi-GPU experience for gamers.

AMD has been working closely with developers on Explicit Multi-Adapter (EMA) technology, alongside DX12 and Vulkan, which bypasses the driver-based SLI and CrossFire technology.

During the event, AMD teased Sniper Elite 4 on the stage running in DX12 with EMA - with near perfect CF scaling. A single Radeon RX 480 graphics card was pushing around 30FPS at 4K with Very High textures enabled, but with EMA enabled and RX 480s in CF, the performance jumped to 60FPS - a significant, and very important increase.

NVIDIA had quite a lot to talk about during its recent Editor's Day in San Francisco alongside the Game Developers Conference, with the unveiling of the new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti - priced at $699.

But when the new GTX 1080 Ti is priced at $699 and beats the Titan X which costs $1200... what happens to the GTX 1080? Well, NVIDIA has provided quite the price drop - slicing $100 from the price, with a fresh new price of $499. Yes, $499 for the GTX 1080. But we're not finished yet.

At the same time, NVIDIA announced a new spruced up version of the GTX 1080 with the faster 11Gbps GDDR5X memory. Not only that, but there's also a new GTX 1060 with 9Gbps GDDR5 memory. We'll let you process that for a moment - because it's a lot of Team Green news to hear all at once.

NVIDIA unleashed the graphics card beast of 2017 - or at least so far, during GDC 2017 with the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. Faster than both Pascal champions in the GTX 1080 and Titan X, and priced at a not-so-damn-bad $699.

NVIDIA has now opened up pre-orders on the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, available in its Founders Edition form directly from NVIDIA's website. There will also be AIB partner cards on offer, with both ASUS and MSI teasing them so far - and I'm sure the rest will follow.

If you haven't read up on the new GTX 1080 Ti, it rocks 11GB of the fastest VRAM known to man - with 11Gbps-capable GDDR5X, up from the 10Gbps GDDR5X used on GTX 1080 and Titan X. Priced at $699, it's offering Titan X beating performance - while the Titan X is priced at $1200. Amazing stuff, isn't it?

GDC 2017 - During AMD's recent Capsaicin & Cream, Corporate VP of Alliances Roy Taylor - who beams with excitement and passion every time I see him, provided 3 world exclusives for AMD during Capsaicin & Cream.

His first talk was 'The Key to VR is Immersion' tackled a few of the big problems of VR as Taylor said that the screen door effect of current-gen VR headsets breaks "the spell" of immersion. He said that "we must be entirely in the experience", teasing that AMD and Radeon Technologies Group are working on next-gen graphics and VR relationships which is exciting.

The reason? Roy talked about "making great narratives and VR content brings along some difficult compromises", and touted it as the "rock, paper, scissors" situation. Roy teased that the future of VR is 16K, "billions of entities/objects" at 120FPS. This is absolutely mind boggling, requiring not just next-gen GPUs like Vega, but a few generations away - maybe Navi, or even the GPU architecture after that.

NVIDIA Editor's Day 2017 - NVIDIA hosted tech press and analysts from all over the globe today during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco to brief us on all of their latest goodies - but the crown jewel was the new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card.

Countless gamers have been waiting for NVIDIA to unleash the GTX 1080 Ti, and today is your day - NVIDIA have made it even more special, by making the new GTX 1080 Ti the best Ti card ever.

In previous iterations of the Ti cards in the GeForce GTX 780 Ti and GTX 980 Ti, we've seen improvements of 18-25% over the non-Ti cards. The GTX 780 Ti was 18% faster than the GTX 780, while the GTX 980 Ti was 25% faster than the stock GTX 980.

AMD has finally announced the name of its next generation graphics card family: Radeon RX Vega. AMD announced the news during their Capsaicin and Cream event at GDC 2017.

Radeon RX Vega will have some incredible technology powering it, with AMD's next-gen Vega GPU architecture, as well as what I'm most excited for: High Bandwidth Cache. HBC will be providing some huge performance improvements versus "traditional VRAM mode" - something RTG boss Raja Koduri showed off on stage with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Koduri also talked about the Packed Math compute performance of Vega, saying that "doing FP16 and FP32 units" are "like having twice as many shader units" for specific tasks.

GPU market share numbers change every couple of months, with Jon Peddie Research releasing their latest numbers for Q4 2016 - showing that AIB shipments increased quarter-to-quarter.

JPR notes that AMD's market share dropped to 29.5% in Q4, 0.3% down from its 29.8% in Q3 - but comparing it to Q4 2015 with 21.6% - AMD has come a long way. NVIDIA has increased with AMD's missing 0.3% to 70.5% this quarter, but they have dropped significantly from 78.3% in the Q4 2015.

Jon Peddie Research has been collecting AIB shipment numbers quarterly backing all the way through to 1987, where they noticed that the AIB market increased 5.6% this quarter - while the desktop PC market also increased by 19.4%.

MWC 2017 - Qualcomm recently launched into the stratosphere with its push for 5G technology leadership, but now the company has announced its Snapdragon 835 Virtual Reality Development Kit.

Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 835 processor is the heart and soul of the new VRDK, providing developers with early access to VR HMDs powered by the Snapdragon 835, something that includes an upgraded VR SDK that works with the headset. Cristiano Amon, Executive Vice President for Qualcomm Technologies., and President of QT, said: "With this new VRDK, we're providing virtual reality application developers with advanced tools and technologies to accelerate a new generation of VR games, 360-degree VR videos and a variety of interactive education, healthcare and entertainment applications".

He continued: "We see great potential for the exciting new experiences made possible by truly mobile, untethered virtual reality that's always connected to the internet, and we're excited to help mobile VR developers more efficiently deliver compelling and high-quality experiences on upcoming Snapdragon 835 VR-capable products".

AMD launched its new Ryzen CPUs with a brief tease of Radeon Vega, in the form of the new Radeon Vega logo being shown on the year to come for AMD.

The company had some of its new Radeon Vega graphics cards on show at its Ryzen Tech Day event, with some great photos taken by ComputerBase.

Anyone who loves GPU technology, graphics cards, or gaming will mark February 28 on their calendars as the day everything changes. AMD is hosting their second annual Capsaicin event during GDC 2017 where we're going to see "exciting new details" on Radeon Vega, with NVIDIA choosing the same day to host their own Editor's Day to unveil the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

NVIDIA is now teasing the GTX 1080 Ti on their official GeForce.com website, teasing a video that runs in the background saying "It's Almost Time #UltimateGeForce" with the 'Ti' in 'Time' being highlighted. Ti = GTX 1080 Ti for the uninitiated.

VideoCardz.com checked out the HTML code of the website, and noticed that it was actually called "GTX 1080 Ti Countdown"... so, there you have it. GTX 1080 Ti will be unveiled in a few days time, as well as more details on Radeon Vega. I seriously, can barely contain my excitement.

AMD held their Ryzen Tech Day in San Francisco a few days ago, unveiling 3 new Ryzen CPUs in the form of the Ryzen 7 1800X, Ryzen 7 1700X, and the Ryzen 7 1700. It looks like we'll be introduced to more details on Radeon Vega, AMD's next-gen GPU architecture that uses HBM2 and the exciting HBC (High Bandwidth Cache) - as well as the Vega GPU architecture itself.

The company has now confirmed the second annual "Capsaicin Live" event in San Francisco during GDC 2017, which kicks off on February 28 at 10:30AM PT. In the press release, AMD teases: "Hosted by Radeon Technologies Group's Senior Vice President and Chief Architect, Raja Koduri, the show will be a celebration of PC gaming, the technology steering its future, and the developers who work tirelessly to transform their imaginations into tomorrow's blockbuster games".

AMD continues: "The one-hour live event will offer PC gaming enthusiasts and developers around the world a preview of AMD's latest graphics and processor technologies, reveal exciting new details surrounding Vega, and showcase the summer's most anticipated PC and VR games from visionary game developers. Named after the legendary component in chili peppers that adds an addictive kick to spicy foods, "Capsaicin Live" explores the essence and creative power of the graphics processing unit (GPU), evoking the magic that game and VR developers create every day when they turn raw code into exciting, memorable, and addicting experiences".

It looks like NVIDIA is finally, after months and months of rumors, preparing its GeForce GTX 1080 Ti for launch - with new rumors stating the card would launch between March 20-23.

NVIDIA is hosting its own event during GDC 2017, where we should hopefully see the GTX 1080 Ti unveiled - but what should we expect in terms of raw horsepower and specs? Well, it should be a Titan X at the end of the day, with some reduction in SMs, with 52 SMs, compared to 60 SMs found on the Titan X.

This means we are to expect around 10.8 TFLOPs of performance, barely down from the 11 TFLOPs on Titan X. We should see AIB partners with tweaked and overclocked GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards, with Titan X beating performance - which is going to be a very, very big deal.

AMD has teased that it is hosting its hopefully yearly tradition of Capsaicin at GDC 2017 in just two weeks time, but now the rumor mill is churning with WCCFTech reporting that the Radeon RX 500 series will feature both Vega and Polaris GPUs.

We still don't know much about Vega, where we should hopefully see the high-end Vega 10 GPU featuring 4096 stream processors, and up to 12.5 TFLOPs of performance with 8GB of HBM2. This part will be the enthusiast card that we've all been dreaming of from AMD, but the company will also fill out the Radeon RX 500 series with Polaris GPUs, according to the site.

This makes sense, but I'd rather see Vega pushed on its own - similar to how they pushed Fiji on its own brand with Radeon R9 Fury X. AMD could name the Vega cards Radeon RX Vega 10, Radeon RX Vega 11 - and then the Polaris-powered parts Radeon RX 580, RX 570, and so on.

This is an event I've been dying to tell you all about: AMD will be hosting their new Capsaicin event during the Game Developers Conference on February 28.

During GDC 2016, AMD hosted their first Capsaicin event where we got to see the Radeon Pro Duo and a bigger tease of Polaris 10 before its release a few months later. But what should we expect from Capsaicin this year? Well, I expect a larger tease of Vega - in fact, I'd really enjoy a massive unveiling of Vega at Capsaicin.

You'll be able to tune into the Capsaicin livestream, which will begin at 10:30AM on February 28, which AMD teases as a "feature-packed show highlighting the hottest new graphics and VR technologies propelling the games industry forward".
