Halo Infinite's last update is on November 18, no major content after Operation Infinite

Halo Studios is buckling down to focus on new Halo games, and has decided to move Halo Infinite aside while it works on multiple upcoming projects. The team has confirmed that Halo Infinite's upcoming Operation Infinite update will be the last major update for the free-to-play shooter.

"With multiple Halo titles in development, we'll need our whole team's combined focus to deliver new experiences with the same passion and care that our community has given us. While we remain committed to supporting Halo Infinite on the road ahead, Operation: Infinite is the last major content update currently planned."

TSMC begins work on 'world's most advanced' chip fab, costs $48.5 billion for 1.4nm production

In a new report from UDN, we're hearing that TSMC kicked off construction on its new 1.4nm semiconductor plant in the Central Taiwan Science Park yesterday, but didn't hold a public groundbreaking ceremony, and kept a rather low profile about it all. TSMC is expected to complete risk trial production before the end of 2027, with mass production kicking off in 2028.

TSMC said yesterday that the groundbreaking had started for the new fab in the Taichung Science Park, with the second phase of the expansion project to work on advanced 1.4nm (A14) processes. Construction was meant to start this year, but it is now planned to "proceed as planned" reports UDN.

TSMC increases silicon costs for Apple, includes A16, A17, A18, A19, M3, M4, and new M5 chips

Anthony Garreffa | Business, Financial & Legal | Nov 7, 2025 7:07 PM CST

TSMC is continuing to raise the price of the silicon it makes in 2026, with Apple's entire fleet of Apple Silicon to be more expensive, as TSMC costs in making its 2nm node process, and its overall tight capacity forcing the move.

TSMC increases silicon costs for Apple, includes A16, A17, A18, A19, M3, M4, and new M5 chips

The rumor started on the Naver platform, known as "Yeux1122's Blog" which now reports that TSMC has informed its major clients -- including Apple -- that there are imminent price hikes for sub-5nm advanced chip fabrication processes. We are told to expect price increases of between 5-10%, with the new prices to take effect in 2026.

Most Apple Silicon will be more expensive to make, with the Apple A16, A17, A18, A19, M3, M4, and M5 chips all being fabbed on TSMC's sub-5nm process nodes. It was only a couple of months ago in September 2025 that the China Times reported that Apple's next-generation A20 processor, which will be fabbed on TSMC's bleeding-edge 2nm process node and inside of the next-gen iPhone 18, will be one of the most expensive chips to ever power an iPhone.

AMD's super-old FX-9590 CPU runs Battlefield 6 surprisingly well at around 30-40FPS

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Nov 7, 2025 6:06 PM CST

AMD's older FX-9590 processor has been put through its paces on Battlefield 6, with a YouTuber trying to run BF6 on two older-gen CPUs: the Intel Core i7-2600K and AMD FX-9590 processors.

AMD's super-old FX-9590 CPU runs Battlefield 6 surprisingly well at around 30-40FPS

AMD released its FX-9590 processor over 10 years ago, with YouTuber "Fully Buffered" using the CPU with an AMD Radeon RX 5700 8GB graphics card in Battlefield 6. First, he tried the Intel Core i7-2600K processor, but the Intel CPU couldn't launch Battlefield 6 because there's no Secure Boot support, but the AMD FX-9590 fired the game out.

Fully Buffered discovered that the AMD FX-9590 + Radeon RX 5700 8GB combo was able to run Battlefield 6 at around 35FPS or so average, while sometimes it was pushing above 40FPS, at the 1080p resolution. CPU utilization

EA going private won't impact the next Mass Effect game, BioWare has confirmed.

BioWare 'exclusively focused' on next Mass Effect as EA prepares to go private

BioWare celebrated N7 Day by giving an update on the next Mass Effect project, which still remains in development even as the developer's parent company prepares to go private in a $55 billion leveraged buyout.

Mass Effect executive producer Mike Gamble allays fan fears in the update, saying that the game is still very much in development and has not been cancelled. The studio is locked-in and exclusively focusing on Mass Effect--there won't be any Anthem- or Veilguard-styled interruptions this time--and we did get a bit of new teaser art showing a Krogan Civil War, potentially set after the events of the trilogy.

Grand Theft Auto publisher now has 2 of the 5 best-selling video games of all time

Take-Two Interactive now has 2 out of the top 5 best-selling video games of all time under its belt, and both of the titles are from Rockstar Games.

Grand Theft Auto publisher now has 2 of the 5 best-selling video games of all time

Take-Two Interactive is a strong force of the games industry, commanding some of the biggest franchises of the planet with Grand Theft Auto and the 2K Basketball series. The publisher's franchise slate is enviable, with annualized sports games churning out consistent revenue while colossal, multi-year releases like Grand Theft Auto V span multiple console generations and rake in over a decade of sales.

This diversified portfolio has given Take-Two a golden strategy for gaming: Sports games rake in thunderous yearly sales and microtransaction earnings, while marquee hits generate millions of sales per quarter (on top of GTA Online cash). When it comes to game sales, Rockstar shines brighter than the rest.

Borderlands 4 sold up to 5 million copies at launch, was 'softer' than Take-Two expected

Borderlands 4's issues on PC have stymied sales targets, leading to lower-than-expected performance for the game.

Borderlands 4 sold up to 5 million copies at launch, was 'softer' than Take-Two expected

Take-Two's latest Q2'26 earnings digest reveals key details about Borderlands 4's performance, showing that the game could have sold up to 5 million copies at release. Data gleaned from the investor report confirms the total Borderlands franchise has now sold an estimated 99 million copies to date.

Before Borderlands 4's launch, the series was at 94 million, and Gearbox's Randy Pitchford had confidently said that the sequel would push Borderlands franchise past 100 million units. That almost happened. While we technically don't know how many of those 5 million games sold are copies of Borderlands 4, it's likely the fourth installment takes up the vast majority of sales.

ASUS names anti-sag tech 'Level Sense' for new ROG Matrix RTX 5090 - or you could use a stick

ASUS has introduced a new 'Level Sense' feature to guard against the dreaded specter of GPU sag, although this functionality has actually been present in a couple of previous graphics cards from the manufacturer.

Going forward, it'll presumably be a fixture for its higher-end GPUs now it's been officially named, as part of its incorporation in a new top dog model, the ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 30th Anniversary edition.

This special edition of the Blackwell flagship is an absolute monster that weighs 5kg, believe it or not (going by this YouTube clip), so if anything needs sag protection, it's this beast of a GPU which goes on sale later this month.

Yesterday, the most anticipated game in the last decade was delayed. GTA 6 is now launching on November 19, 2026, roughly six months after its original planned summertime release. Rockstar Games explains that they pushed the game back to deliver "the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve," (which is what they said last time), and now executive management delivers similar comments about the industry-defining aspirations of Grand Theft Auto 6.

In a recent Q&A with investors during Take-Two's Q2'26 earnings call, company CEO Strauss Zelnick says that delays are painful but necessary--and that the publisher has never regretted pushing a game back to focus on quality.

New GTA Online promos will help fund GTA 6's delayed development

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Nov 7, 2025 12:29 PM CST

Rockstar Games has delayed GTA 6 to holiday 2026, a move that's sure to impact earnings forecasts. The six-month delay coincides with some interesting business moves that will help Rockstar earn in the meantime.

Yesterday, Take-Two and Rockstar Games delivered some bad news: GTA 6 has been delayed by six months, and is now releasing November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The good news? GTA Online is much cheaper to access as a standalone game, and GTA V is also coming to PlayStation Plus this month.

GTA V will be included in PS Plus Extra and Premium later this month, as reported by reliable Dealabs leaker billbil-kun. This will be the second time GTA V has been offered on PS Plus--the first introduction helped Rockstar make $190 million revenue during the holiday 2024 season.

GTA 5 has sold more copies than the 7th most populated country in the world

Jak Connor | Gaming | Nov 7, 2025 11:20 AM CST

On the heels of Grand Theft Auto 6 being officially delayed for a second time, Take Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has revealed Grand Theft Auto 5 continues to be an endless money cow for the publisher, with the twelve-year-old title now having sold more than 200 million units.

GTA 5 has sold more copies than the 7th most populated country in the world

Rockstar Games officially announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 is being delayed to November 19, 2026, from its initial May 25, 2026, release date. The delay of GTA 6 marks the second time the title has been officially delayed from its announced release date.

The delay comes at a time when Rockstar is currently experiencing internal pushback from developers, with one anonymous developer revealing in a post on the GTAForums that morale at the studio has reached "rock bottom" following Rockstar's laying off several veteran developers in what the developers say is an effort to break up unionization.

GPU grind: NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics card works just fine as a skateboard as this video proves

Here's a new one - an RTX 5080 has been turned into a skateboard, and a fully functioning one as demonstrated in a video on Reddit.

GPU grind: NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics card works just fine as a skateboard as this video proves

The Redditor's post (highlighted by VideoCardz) caught a fair few gasps and 'if you've got money to burn' kind of reactions in the thread, but of course this person hasn't turned a grand and a half's worth of graphics card into what's effectively a short plank.

What's probably happened here is that the buyer of the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 has applied their own high-end cooling solution to the GPU, and what you see is just the stock cooler from the graphics card - notably you don't see the innards or PCB.

NVIDIA may cancel the GeForce RTX 50 SUPER series

Jak Connor | Graphics Cards | Nov 7, 2025 3:16 AM CST

NVIDIA is expected to launch a SUPER version of the GeForce RTX 50-series next year, but a recent rumor suggests the company will delay that release due to memory shortages.

NVIDIA may cancel the GeForce RTX 50 SUPER series

For those who don't know, the prices of DRAM and NAND flash have increased substantially recently, with one of the main reasons being the AI industry gobbling up all the supply. Unfortunately, due to supply constraints, DDR5 prices for desktop PCs have approximately doubled since just a few months ago.

With the increase in DRAM prices, we can also expect an increase in GDDR memory, with Uniko's Hardware reporting that due to the general shortage, 3GB GDDR7 won't be able to make it to the consumer market for desktop, "thus the super series is cancelled." Additionally, Uniko writes that it's expected current models available on the market are "expected to be more expensive very soon" because of the increasing cost of 2GB GDDR7.

Meta projected it will earn billions from intentionally ignoring scam advertisements

Jak Connor | Software & Apps | Nov 6, 2025 10:56 PM CST

A new report citing internal documents has revealed that Meta internally projected it would earn billions from ignoring scam advertisements on its platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Meta projected it will earn billions from intentionally ignoring scam advertisements

The bombshell report from Reuters revealed five years of Meta's practices, along with failures to prevent scammers from exploiting users on its platforms. As the documents showed, Meta was tentative about removing accounts; it even considered the "scammiest scammers". The hesitation to remove these accounts was, in part, a concern about the revenue drop the company could face without them on these platforms.

Instead of immediately removing accounts it believed to be scam, Meta enabled these accounts to accrue more than 500 strikes without them being disabled. Moreover, the report states that Meta increased the cost to run ads for these accounts, as the documents indicate Meta "penalizing" scam accounts by charging higher rates. Furthermore, the documents showed Meta acknowledging that scam accounts used Meta's system to target users who were more likely to click on the scam advertisements.

GTA 6 developer reveals morale at the studio is at 'rock bottom,' fears of third delay

Jak Connor | Gaming | Nov 6, 2025 10:30 PM CST

A verified employee at Rockstar North has shed light on the current situation at the studio in a lengthy post on the GTAForums website, revealing that morale at the studio has hit "rock bottom".

GTA 6 developer reveals morale at the studio is at 'rock bottom,' fears of third delay

The insight into the happenings at Rockstar comes after the developer officially delayed the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 to November 19, 2026, marking the second delay for the highly anticipated title. Additionally, the employee said the morale at the developer is at "rock bottom" following Rockstar firing between 30 and 40 staff members over what the employee says was "union-busting and nothing else". According to the employee, the staff who were fired were "predominantly from those who were on the Union Organising Committees of each UK studio."

Adding, "Those of us who are lucky and remain for now work in fear! Fearful when talking to each other at the tea prep, fearful that we're next in line and are easily got rid of, too scared to go outside the studio and talk to (or even acknowledge) our colleagues outside protesting in fear of reprisals."

ASUS's new flagship ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 has been delayed: late November for $4700+

Anthony Garreffa | Graphics Cards | Nov 6, 2025 9:11 PM CST

ASUS promised to have its super-expensive new ROG Matrix Platinum GeForce RTX 5090 on the market by now, but it has been delayed -- just like GTA 6, unfortunately -- until late November, and will cost close to $5000.

ASUS's new flagship ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 has been delayed: late November for $4700+

German retailer ProShop has the new ASUS ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 graphics card listed for €4,099, which works out to around $4730 USD, with stock expected to arrive at the retailer on November 27, a few weeks away from now. The $4700+ pricing means that the ASUS ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 is twice as expensive as NVIDIA's in-house RTX 5090 Founders Edition.

ASUS has fully tricked out the ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 however, with dual power inputs: one 12V-2x6 power connector that provides 600W, while compatible BTF motherboards like some of the flagship ASUS boards, use a hidden high-power slot that can draw up to 800W total, providing around 10% more performance for tweaking the card through overclocking.

AMD CEO Lisa Su said: "So look, it's still a pretty dynamic situation with MI308. So that's the reason that we did not include any MI308 revenue in the Q4 guide. We have received some licenses for MI308, so we're appreciative of the administration supporting some licenses for MI308. We're still working with our customers on the demand environment and sort of what the overall opportunity is".
