The newly-formed NFT gaming market is wildly fluctuating as supply far outstrips demand.

Owners of Ubisoft's new limited-edition Quartz NFTs are trying to cash out quick. There's not a lot of HODLing going on here. Owners of the Quartz NFTs, which were acquired for free,, are listing Ghost Recon Breakpoint weapon skin NFTs on auction websites for ludicrously high prices just to see what happens. Some NFTs are listed for the cost of a house, or 100,000 tezos (an eye-watering $447,000 USD) on third-party markets like Objkt.

Others listings comparatively more reasonable but still cost nearly as much as an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5; the cheapest Ghost Recon Breakpoint M4A1 Tactical | Wolves NFT is being sold for $447.

Boeing announced on December 13th that it will be launching its Starliner spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) in May 2022, after initial setbacks.

Following the previous attempt to make Starliner flight-ready, Boeing and NASA have spent the last four months troubleshooting the cause of several stuck valves on the propulsion system that scrubbed the mission. OFT-2, the Starliner's second orbital test flight, is scheduled for sometime in May 2022, where Boeing will launch the craft to the ISS aboard an Atlas V rocket.

Apollo 17, NASA's final Moon landing mission of the Apollo program taking place in 1972, brought back samples from the lunar surface, which are still being studied today.

A new study has been conducted on a moon rock collected during Apollo 17, designated "troctolite 76535." The study was led by William Nelson, an Earth Sciences graduate from the University of Hawai'i (UH) at Manoa School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST), using a specialized electron microprobe to perform the analysis of troctolite 76535.

The new approach allows researchers to computationally test billions of potential drug candidates' compatibility with target receptors.

Receptors cover the surface of every cell, which allows cells in our body to bind with an enormous variety of compounds, including pharmaceuticals and recreational drugs. Thirty percent of pharmaceutical drugs are designed to target G protein-coupled receptors, but these drugs often bind to other unintended receptors throughout the body, generating undesired side effects.

A drug needs to be designed to induce the intended chemical reaction in a cell while simultaneously not triggering unintended effects and not binding to other non-target receptors. All of these constraints make drug design rather tricky.

With its seventeenth flight on December 5th, Ingenuity surpassed thirty minutes of flight time above the Martian surface.

The 117-second flight time brings the Martian helicopter to a total of 30 minutes and 48 seconds. Originally designed as a technology demonstration, with five experimental test flights planned, Ingenuity has exceeded expectations. So far, it has traveled a total of 3592 meters (2.2 miles), reached an altitude of 12 meters (40 feet), and a top speed of 5 meters per second (10 miles per hour).

Ingenuity's status was temporarily unknown following its December 5th flight, as its in-flight data stream was unexpectedly cut out. The Mars Perseverance rover did receive data packets from Ingenuity which suggested it was still active. On December 10th, data was downlinked to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) that showed the flight was a success and Ingenuity is still in excellent condition.

A common gene mutation responsible for hearing loss has been targeted with a new therapy, reversing hearing loss found in mice.

At least 100 different genes have links to hearing loss, but one gene is responsible for up to sixteen percent of genetic hearing loss, STRC. The Boston Children's Hospital developed the new gene therapy technique replacing stereocilin, a mutated protein in the inner ear, to return hearing closer or back to normal levels.

The team now plans to test the technique with the human STRC gene, using cell cultures of human inner ear cells cultivated from patients with STRC hearing loss. To enable hearing, sensory hair cells within the inner ear must contact the tectorial membrane of the ear. The stereocilin protein provides structure to that hair cells to facilitate this contact.

Superman and Witcher star Henry Cavill is a PC gamer, and a huge fan of gaming in general -- but in his recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he mentioned who he gets his PC building advice from.

I've spent many nights hanging out with Kyle overseas pre-pandemic during events and he is one of the most honest, funny, genuine guys I've met. It's awesome to know Cavill (who I'm one of the biggest Superman fans you'll meet) is watching Kyle's videos. Nice work, bro!

DayZ developer Bohemia Interactive has announced their new engine, the Enfusion Engine, which will power all of their future games.

The developer is using its Real Virtuality Engine to power both Arma III and DayZ, but the new Enfusion Engine will offer upgrades across the board and focus on scalability, performance, modability, and improved online connectivity. Bohemia's new Enfusion Engine will be multi-platform and has been designed to run smoothly on consoles.

DayZ will continue to be updated, while the Unreal Engine-powered console-exclusive looter-shooter, Vigor, is also still coming. We don't know what Bohemia is working on next, but whatever it is we should expect it to be powered by their new Enfusion Engine.

Inside of Samsung's new product catalog we now find that the South Korean giant is sampling 16Gb (2GB) memory modules based on GDDR6 technology with a bandwidth of 20Gbps (K4ZAF325BC-SC20) and 24Gbps (K4ZAF325BC-SC24) to its partners.

The new modules are on Samsung's product catalog, but we don't know what products Samsung's new GDDR6 memory will be used on first. AMD's new Radeon RX 7900 XT could be the first card to feature Samsung's new GDDR6 memory clocked at the impressive 24Gbps, up from the 24GB of GDDR6X memory clocked at 19.5Gbps on the GeForce RTX 3090 and the 21Gbps that you can overclock to 21Gbps.

The refreshed GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is meant to have the same 24GB of GDDR6X, but at a much faster 21Gbps -- the same 21Gbps that the double-sided GDDR6X on the RTX 3090 can do with an easy OC. But remember, that's GDDR6X -- the X is a big difference as Micron makes it, and it costs more than GDDR6.

According to a report from Decrypt, Michael Jordan and his son have co-founded a new company HEIR.inc that has created a platform that will allow devoted fans to connect with professional athletes. The platform will have feature an HEIR token and is built on the Solana blockchain.

Additionally, the platform will support NFT assets and also allow users to participate in an athlete's limited capacity "huddle" that will include exclusive benefits and features. Diablo 2 Resurrected is getting new runewords and a ton of other adjustments in 2022, Blizzard has announced. D2R Patch 2.4 will introduce ladder and a ton of changes including multiple character class adjustments, a huge tweak to all set items to make them a lot better(most of the set items are simply unusable garbage), new runewords and cube recipes, and even major buffs to mercenary characters (maybe the Act 3 merc will be viable now?).

STALKER 2 developer GSC Game World is jumping feet-first into the latest metaverse, NFT, and blockchain craze with the world's first "metahuman NFT".

Right now game publishers are mad scientists doing crazy experiments with blockchain tech. This now includes STALKER 2, the long-awaited post-apocalyptic FPS coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2022. The devs are creating a STALKER 2 Metaverse, and plan to create the world's first "metahuman" NFT.

So how does this work? GSC will auction off digital STALKER 2 NFTs and cosmetic-only items on trade site DMarket (which sells thousands of CS:GO skins) so they can "own a piece" of the game (and of course sell it later). One of these auctions isn't just an item, but exclusive ownership of an NPC. You buy the NFT, get ownership, and GSC Game World will put your face on an in-game NPC, hence the "meta" aspect of it.

Peter Molyneux is back with a new blockchain-based game that peddles a limited quantity of digital land NFTs, literally monetizing digital real-estate which is theoretically infinite.

Ubisoft has officially confirmed a new AAA Splinter Cell game is in development.

Sam Fisher is coming back with a new Splinter Cell game. The game isn't a sequel, but instead a next-gen remake of the original Xbox classic that's "rebuilt from the ground up" in the powerful Snowdrop Engine (the same engine that's powering Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Ubisoft's new Star Wars game).

The original devs of Splinter Cell Blacklist at Ubisoft Toronto are developing the remake, and promise to preserve the landmark stealth espionage elements while completely redoing visuals, shadows, and environments. Contrary to recent rumors, the remake will be 100% linear and won't be open world.

Researchers from the European Southern Observatory (ESO) have published two papers in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics showing observations of a newly observed star near the center of our galaxy.

Many stars were captured in images of the Milky Way's central supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A*, using the ESO's Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI). VLTI has enabled image capture at a zoom level twenty times greater than what was possible before. Within the images, astronomers identified a new never-before-seen star, dubbed S300.

Arriving recently at the International Space Station (ISS) for an eleven day stay, Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa also brought some Uber Eats to share.

Launching on December 8th, Maezawa brought ready-to-eat canned Japanese dishes to share with the Expedition 66 crew. The meals included boiled mackerel in miso, beef bowl cooked in sweet sauce, simmered chicken with bamboo shoots, and braised pork, a welcome reprieve from the everyday meals aboard the ISS.
