NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has pointed its extremely powerful instruments at a region of space that contains newborn stars.

Astronomers have captured an image of a Herbig-Haro object and released it as one of Webb's latest images, explaining the significance of such a photograph and how it plays into the evolution of stars. NASA's JWST has pointed its Near-InfraRed Camera (NIRCam) instrument at HH 797, a luminous cloud of gas and dust that resides approximately 1,000 light years from Earth. HH 797 is the long strip of gaseous material found taking up the majority of the bottom half of the above image.

Joining HH 797 is the young open star cluster called IC 343, located on the right-hand side of the image. So, why is this image so special? Newborn stars, more specifically named protostars, spew out jets of high-speed stellar wind that collide with nearby dust and gas. This collision produces the interaction we can see in the above image. Previously, astronomers believed that the string of gas seen at the bottom of the image was caused by just one newborn star, but Webb's observations have revealed the presence of two newborn stars.

Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of, if not the most anticipated game of all time, and now we are starting to hear rumors of when you will be able to preorder it.

Just a bit of background on how long we have been waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6. Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto 5 more than 10 years ago, and it was only earlier this month that the developers behind the iconic title teased that the first trailer for the sequel was going to be released in early December. Notably, The Game Awards is scheduled to take place on December 7, and what better way to round off the show with the full trailer for GTA 6?

But that begs the question - will the trailer actually reveal a release date for the title? Now, we are starting to get into rumor territory. A screenshot went viral last week of an individual reaching out to UK retailer Argos. The screenshot showed chat messages with the user inquiring about when GTA 6 preorders would be going live. The UK retailer revealed that preorders would be available as of December 12, 2023, and that date was "confirmed to us by the distributors".

NVIDIA will be gobbling up all of the HBM3e and future-gen HBM4 memory supply for its current and next-gen AI GPUs, with TrendForce's new report stating NVIDIA will soak up most HBM3, HBM3e, and HBM4 memory over the next few years.

TrendForce's latest research into the HBM market sees NVIDIA planning to diversify HBM suppliers for "more robust and efficient supply chain management". TrendForce sees NVIDIA buying up most of its HBM memory from Samsung because they'll be ready first, while SK hynix and Micron will have their new HBM memory ready in the second half of 2024.

Samsung's new HBM3 (24GB) is expected to complete verification with NVIDIA in the coming weeks, while its newer HBM3e memory is coming in 8-Hi stacks (24GB) and will reach NVIDIA by the end of July 2024. It's not just Samsung with HBM memory where SK hynix will have its HBM3e memory with NVIDIA in mid-August 2024, while Samsung will be last delivering HBM3e memory to NVIDIA in October 2024.

If you're a Google Drive user who has noticed that you don't seem to have all of the files you might have expected, you aren't alone. In fact, a number of people have posted in the Google support forums that they have experienced the same loss of files, and it seems Google is aware that there is an issue.

According to a report by The Register some people have claimed that they are missing as much as six months of business data, something that is far from ideal to say the least. There isn't an awful lot of information on what's going on here, but some users say that the file synchronization from the Google Drive desktop app simply stopped working so the data stored in Google Drive's cloud essentially got cut off at that same date.

A comment by someone claiming to be from Google support told people not to go fiddling with their data to try and get things back after it was suggested that changes to cached files could be what was needed. Specifically, Google says that users should not make changes to the root/data folder to avoid making matters worse.

The MacBook Air, powered by Apple's M2 chip, doesn't have a fan inside. That helps to make it thin, light, power efficient, and most important, silent. And all while being nice and fast as well. The 13-inch MacBook Pro with the same M2 chip inside has a fan with the aim being to allow people to run the chip harder for longer before the laws of thermal dynamics kick in and the silicon has to slow down to avoid permanent damage. But what if you added a new type of cooling to the fanless MacBook Air?

That is what a company called Frore Systems did before it took The Verge out to see what it had been working on. The machine in question was a 15-inch M2 MacBook Air while the cooling system uses three AirJet Minis, products that use a piezoelectric cooling chip that weighs nine grams but can still remove 4.25 additional watts of heat. So what happened?

According to The Verge, the MacBook Air was able to run longer and faster than it was capable of doing previously. Examples show the Xcode benchmark finishing in 172.7 seconds with the AirJet cooling system involved but taking 178.2 seconds without it, suggesting that the additional cooling means the M2 chip doesn't need to throttle itself quite so aggressively, if at all when it's kept cooler. Longer gaming sessions also benefited greatly from the additional cooling.

There are already multiple smart rings available from the likes of Oura and similar companies, and Samsung is heavily rumored to have a Galaxy Ring product ready to be announced as soon as January 2024, likely alongside the new Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones. But Apple doesn't want to be left behind and is hard at work on a smart ring of its own - and it might do something no other smart ring does.

That's according to a new AppleInsider report based on a newly granted patent that makes a point of explaining that the smart ring doesn't necessarily have to be worn around the wearer's finger. In fact, the patent claims that it could be worn almost anywhere else including around a user's wrist, arm, leg, ankle, neck, head, and/or other body part. That final bit leaves little to the imagination, so you get the idea.

Little information is available in terms of features but we can around the Apple ring to be able to measure the wearer's heart rate, temperature, and more - much like rings that are already on sale today. But Apple's patent allows for products that are built to fit on different parts of the body - could we see an Apple bracelet, or an Apple headband, for example?

If you're a WhatsApp fan who makes use of Channels you're in for a treat with a future version of the app set to enable new sticker options. The latest version of WhatsApp, now available to those who have access to the TestFlight beta builds of the app, now includes the ability for people to post stickers to a Channel for the very first time.

The new feature was first spotted by the folks over at WABetaInfo with a new sticker option being added to the chat bar. Interestingly, the report also notes that some users of the latest version of WhatsApp that can be downloaded from the App Store also appear to have access to the new sticker feature, suggesting that this is all based on a server-side configuration rather than the actual software that is being run.

The added benefit of having stickers in Channels is obvious because it allows people to be more expressive and emotive without having to type things out. It's also much more familiar and friendly, something that may or may not match a specific channel and its users. However, as with so many things, the key here is that giving people the option to use stickers means that people can choose whether or not to use them for themselves.

The Apple Vision Pro AR/VR headset was announced in June as part of the big annual WWDC event. But it won't go on sale until a vague early 2024 release window and when it does, it'll cost a whopping $3,499. However, plans are reportedly afoot to find a way to slash that price for a future model - and by some margin, too.

It was always to be expected that Apple would seek to find a way to make future Vision Pro models cheaper and now a new report claims that is indeed the case, with a massive 50% price reduction possible as soon as 2025. The company is reportedly already working on a new model with a bill of materials (BOM) that costs half that of the upcoming model, although it remains to be seen whether that saving will be passed on to customers.

DigiTimes reports that there are in fact as many as four new Vision Pro headsets in development, including one that's set to be a direct replacement for the model that is set to arrive next year. The publication then monitored the type of content the account was being delivered through Instagram Reels, and according to the report, the content these accounts were being served was "risqué footage of children as well as overtly sexual adult videos". These types of ads aren't allowed on Meta's platforms, yet they were being served to accounts designed to simulate a typical child's account.

Additionally, the WSJ reports that some notable brands, such as Disney, Walmart, Pizza Hut, Bumble, Match Group, and The Wall Street Journal itself, had ads representing their brands served alongside this questionable content. The same issue recently took place on the social media platform formerly called Twitter, and now called X, as antisemitic featured ads from big brands that resulted in some advertising expenditure being pulled or at least paused.

Aitana was created by The Clueless, a digital modeling agency that has now stepped away from finding human models and is concentrating on creating more AI models following Aitana's massive, lucrative success.

According to a report by Euronews, Aitana's co-creator and founder of The Clueless Rubén Cruz said the AI model is pulling in approximately $11,000 a month through various social media-related ventures. For example, Aitana sells lude pictures of herself on an OnlyFans-competing website called Fanvue, while her Instagram account, which has amassed more than 150,000 followers, is attracting brand deals of more than $1,100 each.

Now the good folks at Notebookcheck.net have had hands-on with the Alienware M18 gaming laptop, and well and truly put it through its paces against the GeForce RTX 4080 and GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPUs. In their testing, Notebookcheck.net reports that CPU performance is 10% faster in raw multi-threaded performance against the Intel Core i9-13980HX processor, while it's between 5-10% slower in single-threaded performance.

Samsung's Galaxy Buds Live, Buds Pro, Buds 2, Buds 2 Pro, and Buds FE are about to get a new accessory for those who like Pokemon, so long as they happen to live in Spain. That's because Samsung is bringing the Pokemon-themed earbud cases to Europe for the first time, and it's surely only a matter of time until they move beyond Spain and into other countries as well.

The new cases are designed to look like three popular Pokeballs including Ultraball, Greatball, and Masterball. This is the first time that the cases have been sold outside of Samsung's home territory and they will sell for €39.91 each. We've heard plenty of rumors and leaks about the entire Galaxy S24 lineup over the last few weeks and months, and the new phones are all expected to be announced in January of 2024. That lineup will include the base model Galaxy S24, the larger Galaxy S24+, and then the range-topping Galaxy S24 Ultra. Understandably it's the latter that has caught the attention of most people and it's that model that's now been officially certified by the Korea Testing & Research Institute.

Every device that is sold in South Korea has to pass the certification so it's no surprise that the Galaxy S24 Ultra has also been put through its paces. SamMobile reports that the device that was tested was built at Samsung's Gumi manufacturing plant in Gyeongbuk and the Thai Nguyen plant in Vietnam.

This all of course now means that the Galaxy S24 Ultra - and indeed the other two models in the lineup - are now closer than ever to being announced. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is set to be the flagship of flagships thanks to a Samsung-specific Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and up to 16GB of RAM. Storage will come in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configuration options while other anticipated features include a 200-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom. A final 50-megapixel telephoto camera will have a 5x optical zoom.

When it comes to picking a great pair of wireless earbuds there is absolutely no shortage of options. And there's about to be another one if a new leak is anything to go by. The OnePlus Buds 3 look set for an unveiling sooner rather than later after a new leak shared details about their specifications alongside renders of what we can expect the earbuds to look like.

The leak comes via a collaboration between MySmartPrice and OnLeaks, and shows a new pair of earbuds that are unlikely to be all that far away from release. The earbuds could well be unveiled alongside the OnePlus 12 smartphone at an event on December 5.

In terms of specifications, we're told that the new earbuds will weigh 4.77 grams each and come equipped with a 10.4mm woofer and 6mm tweeter. We're also told toe expect a 48dB Active NOise Cancelation feature as well as an IP55 water and dust resistance. Beyond that, the charging case will have an IPX4 rating.
