Xbox conquered the sales charts for the month of April in the United States, not only topping the chart with Oblivion Remastered but also having 4 games in the top 5 best-sellers list.

Xbox conquers April sales charts, takes over PlayStation Store with 4 out of 5 top best-sellers

NOTE: The data referenced below does not include the majority of digital sales on Nintendo platforms, and does not include digital sales for Nintendo first-party games on the eShop.

Microsoft's cross-platform strategy (aka Project Latitude) is working quite well. Once again, Xbox is overlapping the competition in specific geographies with its multitude of cross-platform releases. The staggered launches of Oblivion Remastered, Forza Horizon 5, and Indiana Jones on PlayStation 5 have helped propel Xbox to the top of the US charts for the month of April.

Oblivion Remastered sales vastly eclipse the 2006 original game

Derek Strickland | Gaming | May 21, 2025 2:32 PM CDT

Oblivion Remastered is a mega-hit for Bethesda and Microsoft in terms of both sales and engagement, new data from Circana reveals.

Oblivion Remastered sales vastly eclipse the 2006 original game

Oblivion Remastered is doing incredibly well for Xbox. The new remaster was the best-selling game of April in the United States, according to new reports from Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, and the game also vastly eclipsed the sales of its 19-year-old predecessor in the region.

"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Remastered was the best-selling game of the month, instantly becoming the 3rd best-selling game of 2025 year-to-date. It was the best-selling title across each of the PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms," Piscatella wrote on Bluesky.

Fears of ARM CPU on Xbox handheld are abruptly dismissed - it's rumored to use custom AMD SoC

Darren Allan | Gaming | May 21, 2025 1:32 PM CDT

More chatter has been coming through from the grapevine about the dedicated Xbox handheld and it dispels any notion that Microsoft might be mulling an ARM chip, and will instead use an AMD SoC (as you might expect).

AMD told us its plan for how FSR will eventually kill DLSS

Kosta Andreadis | Gaming | May 21, 2025 11:38 AM CDT

"In the long run, open source wins," Frank Azor says at the end of a lengthy conversation. At Computex 2025, we got the chance to sit down with AMD's Consumer and Gaming Marketing chief to discuss the evolution of FSR 4 and the latest FSR 'Redstone' announcement.

AMD told us its plan for how FSR will eventually kill DLSS

FSR 'Redstone' introduces new AI rendering technologies that will rival DLSS 4's impressive AI-powered Ray Reconstruction, Neural Radiance Cache, and Frame Generation for real-time Path Tracing in games. It's due for release in the second half of 2025.

"Look at G-Sync and FreeSync," Frank Azor concluded. "It took a while, but FreeSync won. And that's par for the course; it just takes some time." This is where our conversation concluded. He used the open-source nature and widespread adoption of FreeSync as a reference point for how FSR would one day kill DLSS as the go-to solution for Super Resolution and Path Tracing technologies. Of course, there's a lot more to it than that.

TRYX unveils a CPU cooler with a real stage, and PC case with fabric at Computex 2025

Jak Connor | Cases, Cooling & PSU | May 21, 2025 11:15 AM CDT

TRYX has showcased some really interesting innovations at Computex 2025, with the company leveling up the AIO offerings with their new STAGE.

TRYX unveils a CPU cooler with a real stage, and PC case with fabric at Computex 2025

Named accurately, STAGE is a new AIO that offers two 4-inch screens and a mirror base that forms into a literal stage for users to place small toys or figurines to display. The stage turns the CPU pump into something fun for users, with TRYX telling me the company is aiming STAGE at the younger audience who are particularly into small toys and collectibles. While aimed at kids, I can definitely see this product being popular among those who simply want to display their favorite collectible within their PC build.

TRYX also showcased the Turris, a huge CPU cooler that features two built-in fans and one removable fan. While the size of this product should translate to great performance, it's not the factor that separates it from the competition, as TRYX has placed a 5-inch LCD panel on the top of the cooler. Users are able to customize the LCD panel to display system data such as CPU temperature, component usage, etc. Additionally, TRYX informs me that users can play any video they want, with the company's software supporting the most popular video file types.

Mistake in GTA 6 trailer prompts a ton of jokes about how 'unplayable and broken' it will be

Darren Allan | Gaming | May 21, 2025 10:48 AM CDT

There's a mistake in the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 that recently emerged, and gamers have been quick to jump on it, threatening - in tongue-in-cheek style - to cancel their pre-orders for the game.

Mistake in GTA 6 trailer prompts a ton of jokes about how 'unplayable and broken' it will be

You can see the faux pas in the trailer as highlighted on Reddit above (hat tip to PC Gamer), and it happens in the scene where Jason is leaning out of a car and shooting a gun.

What should happen is the gunshot is fired, followed by the muzzle flash lighting up Jason's body and face, but what actually occurs is the lighting effect comes a smidge too early - just before the trigger is pulled. Whoops.

Windows 11 bugs with latest update include installation failures and File Explorer weirdness

Darren Allan | Software & Apps | May 21, 2025 8:50 AM CDT

Windows 11's latest update for May is causing trouble, and we're witnessing bugs with File Explorer and installation failures (not for the first time in either case, it's worth noting).

Windows 11 bugs with latest update include installation failures and File Explorer weirdness

This is the cumulative update for May (which is known as patch KB5058411) and Windows Latest highlighted these problems with the patch which was delivered last week. As ever, it takes time for issues to filter through and be reported.

There are some bugs with File Explorer, and while they don't appear to be anything like widespread, they're frustrating glitches. One report via Microsoft's Feedback Hub explains that the mouse and keyboard - one or the other, or indeed both in some cases - can fail to work in File Explorer, and some interface buttons can become unresponsive.

FSR 'Redstone' is AMD's answer to DLSS 4 Ray Reconstruction, Neural Shaders, and Frame Gen

Kosta Andreadis | Gaming | May 21, 2025 8:24 AM CDT

Path Tracing or Full Ray Tracing is widely considered the end game for real-time lightning in games, and it's best to think of it like ray-tracing for everything: shadows, reflections, global illumination, indirect lighting, and more. Naturally, it's extremely hardware-intensive, to the point where, in 2025, it's only possible thanks to AI-powered technologies like DLSS 4.

FSR 'Redstone' is AMD's answer to DLSS 4 Ray Reconstruction, Neural Shaders, and Frame Gen

This includes DLSS 4 Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, Frame Generation, and, more recently, with the introduction of the GeForce RTX 50 Series, neural shaders like Neural Radiance Cache. This isn't merely a case of AI boosting performance, as DLSS 4's Super Resolution offers a more stable and detailed image than natively rendering a scene. Ray Reconstruction is effectively an AI denoiser, and it dramatically improves the detail you see when turning on ray-tracing.

Frame Generation sits on top of all of that. It boosts smoothness and motion clarity while reducing latency, pushing performance into triple-digit territory. At Computex 2025, AMD announced FSR 'Redstone' for its RDNA 4 GPUs, which are due for release in the second half of 2025. It's the company's answer to DLSS 4 and NVIDIA's Path Tracing features.

MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Ukiyo-e Edition laptop is one of the most beautiful laptops I've ever seen

Anthony Garreffa | Laptops | May 21, 2025 8:08 AM CDT

MSI had so many fantastic new products on the show floor of Nangang this year at Computex 2025, but one of them was truly a step above the rest: the MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Ukiyo-e Edition. Check it out:

MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Ukiyo-e Edition laptop is one of the most beautiful laptops I've ever seen

MSI partnered with Japan's renowned OKADAYA, blending Yamanaka lacquer artistry and featuring "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" with each layer of the artistry on the lid of the laptop exquisitely done. The new MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Ukiyo-e Edition is beautifully handcrafted, and it looks absolutely stunning in the flesh.

I spent some time just in awe at its beauty, with MSI explaining to me that there are 8 layers of lacquer painting, with each and every layer added by hand, with adhesive applied as the base for the gold powder throughout the waves, the MSI logo, and the signature of the artist. It looks good in these pictures, but even better in person.

Lian Li's new case makes you ask 'why isn't that flat,' and the answer is surprisingly smart

Jak Connor | Cases, Cooling & PSU | May 21, 2025 7:50 AM CDT

Lian Li had plenty of new products to show of at its Computex 2025 booth, and one of the products that caught my attention was the back panel on the 011D Mini V2 case, as it was protruding out past the case's frame.

Lian Li's new case makes you ask 'why isn't that flat,' and the answer is surprisingly smart

I immediately asked Lian Li about this and what their thought process was when designing the 011D Mini V2, and the company said that it wanted to figure out a way to get a full-sized ATX power supply in this small 45-liter case. So, why the bump? Lian Li needed to accommodate the clearance of the PSU, but instead of making the case bigger, which would have broken Lian Li's goal of designing a case with a 45-liter limitation, they decided to protrude the backpanel by approximately 2mm.

With this intuitive design, the 011D Mini V2 can support full-sized ATX PSUs, which pairs with its support for standard ATX motherboards and ATX Back-Connect motherboards. Notably, the 011D Mini V2 features a slanted internal base, which I was told helps with internal airflow and GPU cooling. Lian Li's 011D Mini V2 is scheduled to arrive sometime in July 2025 and will be priced at $89.99 or $99.99, which includes five 120mm fans - two on the side and three on the bottom.

AMD's Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB outperforms the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, and it's cheaper

Kosta Andreadis | Graphics Cards | May 21, 2025 7:33 AM CDT

AMD has fully revealed the new Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex 2025, confirming the details we've been waiting for - price and availability. As already confirmed, the mainstream RDNA 4 GPU is set to become available in two models, one with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM and one with 16GB, on a 128-bit Memory Interface.

AMD's Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB outperforms the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, and it's cheaper

Outside of the VRAM capacity, both versions ship with the same 32 Compute Unit chip (half the size of the flagship Radeon RX 9070 XT) that includes 32MB of AMD Infinity Cache and a Boost Clock speed of up to 3.13 GHz. The Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB features a higher TBP (Total Board Power) rating of 160W compared to the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB's 150W.

As for the pricing and release date, both cards are set to launch on June 5. The suggested retail price of the Radeon RX 9060 XT is $299, and the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB is $349 USD. AMD notes that models from Acer, ASRock, ASUS, GIGABYTE, PowerColor, Sapphire, Vastarmor, XFX, and Yeston are on the way.

Lian Li Lancool 4 gets a breath of fresh air at Computex 2025 - literally

Jak Connor | Cases, Cooling & PSU | May 21, 2025 7:07 AM CDT

Computex is always the time of year when we see some interesting new case designs, and what caught my eye this year was a new case by Lian Li, specifically the Lancool 4.

Lian Li Lancool 4 gets a breath of fresh air at Computex 2025 - literally

Lian Lian, a known leader in the PC case space, introduced me to the new case and explained the thought process behind the new intuitive design. The glaring head-turner here is that Lian Li has cut massive holes into the front panel of the case, which is tempered glass, and placed three intake fans.

I asked Lian Li about this, and the company said the idea was to enable buyers to enjoy the three glass panels that offer a panoramic view of the case, but also provide a unique way to include three fans with the case to separate the Lancool 4 from other competition on the market.

MSI makes QD-OLED gaming monitors even cheaper: 280Hz now $599

Jak Connor | Displays | May 21, 2025 5:11 AM CDT

QD-OLED gaming monitors are getting much cheaper compared to when they first entered the market, and an example of that is MSI's newly unveiled MAG 272QPW QD-OLED X28, a 27-inch 1440p 280Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms (GtG) response time display for $599.

MSI makes QD-OLED gaming monitors even cheaper: 280Hz now $599

While still being on the higher end of the gaming monitor pricing pool, the price has dropped considerably since the technology was first introduced, and MSI has informed me they are setting out to provide as many options as possible to get the incredible QD-OLED technology in as many gamers' hands as possible.

The MAG 272QPW QD-OLED X28 is intended to be a more affordable option for gamers who don't need a crazy 360Hz or even 500Hz refresh rate, but still want a healthy number of frames on their screen every second. The MAG 272QPW QD-OLED X28 features an array of connectivity options, with 2x HDMI 2.1 inputs, 1x Displayport 1.4a, and 1x USB-C port w/ 15W PD charging. MSi informed me at Computex 2025, where this monitor was showcased, that it will be launching for an MSRP of $599 extremely soon, on June 8, 2025.

Hands-on with Corsair's K100 AIR keyboard has me throwing my Logitech G915 X in the trash

Anthony Garreffa | Peripherals | May 21, 2025 4:55 AM CDT

I spent a good amount of time geeking out at Corsair's expansive suite at the Grand Hyatt here at Computex 2025, walking away uber-impressed with their K100 AIR keyboard... so much so, that I now don't just want, but need one, and my failing Logitech G915 X Lightspeed is going in the trash.

Hands-on with Corsair's K100 AIR keyboard has me throwing my Logitech G915 X in the trash

Corsair's K100 AIR keyboard isn't new, but the ultra-thin keyboard is something I've been looking for to replace my Logitech G915 X Lightspeed, as it has major issues with double-pressing keys. I type for a living, so these issues are incredibly frustrating and after years of owning not one, not two, not three, but FOUR of the G915 X Lightspeed keyboards, I'm in dire need of an upgrade.

In the weeks leading up to Computex, I went out and purchased a brand-spanking-new Logitech G915 X Lightspeed after my previous keyboards were experiencing those incredibly annoying double-press issues on multiple keys. Got it home, like a kid on Christmas morning opening the Nintendo 64 in the 90s... so excited... and within 48 hours the "Q" and spacebar keys were experiencing the same thing.

MSI's 500Hz monitor takes photos of you 5 times a second - But it's not what you think

Jak Connor | Displays | May 21, 2025 4:35 AM CDT

MSI has showcased the world's first QD-OLED gaming monitor with AI Care Sensor at Computex 2025, which is a new gaming monitor offering that features a camera that snaps images every 0.2 seconds of the user in front of it.

MSI's 500Hz monitor takes photos of you 5 times a second - But it's not what you think

The world's first monitor is the MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50, which is MSI's latest QD-OLED gaming monitor that sports an incredible 500Hz refresh rate at a 2560 x 1440p resolution. Along with other incredibly impressive features, which are listed below, MSI has equipped the MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 with an always-on CMOS sensor (camera) that captures images every 0.2 seconds for real-time human detection. You are probably wondering why you would want a camera taking photos of you every 0.2 seconds? I wondered the same thing, so I asked MSI about it at Computex 2025.

The AI Care Sensor is part of MSI's suite of OLED Care features, and the reason it snaps images so rapidly is so the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) found within the display can train on images of the user to determine when and when they aren't sitting in front of the display. The idea behind the monitor is that when a user walks away from the monitor, it will automatically dim the pixels, reducing the likelihood of burn-in occurring on the QD-OLED panel. But what happens with the images?
