Lian Li's new case makes you ask 'why isn't that flat,' and the answer is surprisingly smart

Lian Li has showcased a new intuitive PC case where one panel isn't completely flat, making you question the design choice altogether.

TL;DR: Lian Li's 011D Mini V2 case innovatively supports full-sized ATX power supplies within a compact 45-liter design by protruding the back panel slightly. Featuring enhanced airflow with a slanted base, a cable cage, GPU bracket, and five included 120mm fans, it offers efficient cooling and user-friendly cable management, launching July 2025.

Lian Li had plenty of new products to show of at its Computex 2025 booth, and one of the products that caught my attention was the back panel on the 011D Mini V2 case, as it was protruding out past the case's frame.

I immediately asked Lian Li about this and what their thought process was when designing the 011D Mini V2, and the company said that it wanted to figure out a way to get a full-sized ATX power supply in this small 45-liter case. So, why the bump? Lian Li needed to accommodate the clearance of the PSU, but instead of making the case bigger, which would have broken Lian Li's goal of designing a case with a 45-liter limitation, they decided to protrude the backpanel by approximately 2mm.

With this intuitive design, the 011D Mini V2 can support full-sized ATX PSUs, which pairs with its support for standard ATX motherboards and ATX Back-Connect motherboards. Notably, the 011D Mini V2 features a slanted internal base, which I was told helps with internal airflow and GPU cooling. Lian Li's 011D Mini V2 is scheduled to arrive sometime in July 2025 and will be priced at $89.99 or $99.99, which includes five 120mm fans - two on the side and three on the bottom.

Lian Li also told me it received feedback about its hard drive bays and how users who leave them empty use them to store cables. So, Lian Li has incorporated that decision by users by implementing a cable cage. Moreover, the 011D Mini V2 features a GPU bracket for those heavier GPU users.
