iPhone X stock eXtremely limited, 10K units per day

| Sep 11, 2017 7:12 PM CDT

Apple will be announcing its new iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X smartphones in the next 24 hours, so it comes as no surprise that more details are leaking on the flagship iPhone X handset.

iPhone X stock eXtremely limited, 10K units per day

According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will reportedly have a massive shortage of iPhone X handsets, which will be in very limited supplies for a few weeks. Why? Production issues, new technologies being used, and "specific problems" with the gold version of the iPhone X which leads to constrained supplies.

Apple's main competitor is supplying the OLED displays, so it'll be interesting to see how Samsung plays this out in the coming months with OLED display constraints. It seems they have no problems making OLED panels for their Galaxy S8 and new Note 8 smartphones, while Apple's new iPhone X will suffer.

iPhone 8 encrusted in diamonds could cost over $20,000

| Sep 7, 2017 12:39 AM CDT

Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone next week, with the new iPhone 8 possibly costing north of $1200 for the 512GB version. But what if you want to spend $3000+ on the new iPhone? GOOOLLLDDDD.

iPhone 8 encrusted in diamonds could cost over $20,000

London-based store Goldgenie is preparing for iPhone 8 orders, offering up new iPhone 8 smartphones in 24K gold, rose gold, and platinum. If you like bling, you'll be fine with the diamond-encrusted iPhone 8 that I'm sure costs an arm and a leg.

Goldgenie is also offering a service where they'll take your brand new iPhone 8 apart and replace the casing with a solid 18K gold version, just in case you like gold... like, a lot.

Apple's new iPhone rumored to cost a huge $1200

| Sep 4, 2017 10:43 PM CDT

Apple is hosting its big iPhone event next week where we should be introduced to the new iPhone, with today bringing some new rumors on SKUs of the new iPhone, as well as some rumored pricing.

Apple's new iPhone rumored to cost a huge $1200

According to Twitter user @VenyaGeskin1 the new iPhone 8 will arrive in three sizes: 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The prices of the new iPhone will fall into $999, $1099, and $1199 for the 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB handsets, respectively. Apple's current fleet of iPads come in these specific storage sizes, with 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB iPads available right now.

I'm still holding out for Apple to surprise us all with an iPhone X that is $1499 and blows everything else away with something out of the complete left field. I don't see it happening, but I'm still holding out for the 10th anniversary of the iPhone to be celebrated in a big way: iPhone X and Apple's hotly anticipated, and highly rumored AR glasses. Come on, Apple - actually surprise us for once.

Samsung's new Galaxy Note 8 supports Netflix HDR streams

| Sep 4, 2017 8:28 PM CDT

Samsung's new Galaxy Note 8 smartphone supports Netflix HDR streaming, so if you want to get your mobile HDR experience on, there's another flagship smartphone to choose from.

Samsung's new Galaxy Note 8 supports Netflix HDR streams

Netflix recently updated their FAQ page, with HDR-capable smartphones like the LG V30 and Sony Xperia XZ already on the list along with LG's G6 handset. The updated FAQ adds Samsung's new Galaxy Note 8 and Sony Xperia XZ1 smartphones, both launching in the last two weeks.

The beautiful 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy Note 8 rocks a native resolution of 2960 x 1440, so Netflix HDR content should well and truly shine on the HDR-capable display. You'll need to have the 4-screen premium/4K account with Netflix to get that HDR goodness, but I'd dare say it's worth the extra couple of bucks every month.

| Aug 29, 2017 4:25 PM CDT

Apple should unveil the new iPhone 8 on September 12th, claims a new report from the Wall Street Journal.

Apple to launch the iPhone 8 on September 12th?

The company is aiming to launch the phone at Steve Jobs Theater at its new headquarters campus but considering that the new HQ isn't finished yet, Apple could use the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, where it's held events in the past two years.

If the report is true, we could see the new iPhones available on September 22nd. Apple will announce the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, and the iPhone 8. The iPhone 8 is certainly the most interesting among the three devices since it should bring some design changes. One of the biggest questions is what will happen with the fingerprint scanner.

Dell introduces Latitude 7212 Rugged Extreme Tablet

| Aug 29, 2017 8:00 AM CDT

Earlier this year we reviewed the Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet, and we were very impressed with the durability and features of the 2-in-1 hybrid tablet/Windows PC. Dell has upped the ante with another installment of their uniquely durable tablet computer and made major improvements upon the Latitude 12 (7202) Rugged Tablet.

Dell introduces Latitude 7212 Rugged Extreme Tablet

The new Latitude 7212 Rugged Extreme features Intel's 6th and 7th generation Core processors, weight reduction (almost 25-30%) to under 3lbs, increased battery size (26Wh to 34Wh)/life (19 hours), and will maintain backward compatibility with Dell's existing ecosystem. That means the batteries from the previous Rugged tablet will also work with the new tablet as would car mounting systems.

The 11.6" daylight viewable display also gets an upgrade to FHD and is still just as strong as its predecessors. The new tablet features a USB 3.0 Type-C connector that can be used for connecting to devices, docking, and even charging. Storage options have been changed, and now you can get a Rugged Extreme tablet with up to 1TB of NVMe class 40 solid state storage. You can also get the tablet equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A modem for data on the go, and a dedicated GPS card.
