Electric Concept One beats Bugatti Veyron
Croatian Rimac Automobili has already shown their supremacy against Ferrari's LaFerrari, but now they have decided to show what the electric Concept One can do against a Bugatti Veyron, which is still considered the world's fastest production car.
The race took place in Croatia, near the Rimac factory and although the Veyron has 1200 HP and can go up to 431 km/h (268 mph), the Concept One won.
The weather conditions weren't exactly perfect since it was -5 C, so the Bugatti had a hard time to launch properly, and the Concept One was at 20% battery State of Charge, so it didn't have full power available.

More than 64,000 people reserved Faraday Future's FF 91
Earlier this week Faraday Future unveiled their highly anticipated electric vehicle - the FF 91. At the launch, the company gave some pretty interesting numbers about the car including the fact that it has 1,050 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.39 seconds, which is faster than Tesla's Model S 9100D.
Production of the FF 91 is planned to start in 2018, but reservations have already opened. During their event, Faraday Future stated that everyone interested in the car could make the reservations by depositing $5,000, which are fully refundable.

Faraday Future unveils their first production vehicle
CES 2017 - Faraday Future has finally unveiled their highly anticipated electric vehicle - the FF 91. The FF91 is their first production vehicle, and the company plans for it to compete directly with Tesla.
The company teased their first electric vehicle in the month leading up to the official launch, and one of the most interesting things they showed was that the car could beat Tesla's Model S P100D, the quickest production car in the world. Now, the numbers have confirmed that the new sheriff is in town - Faraday Future's FF 91 beats Tesla's car by a bit.
Tesla's Model S P100D Ludicrous mode can achieve 0 to 60 mph acceleration in 2.5 seconds, which is quite impressive. Faraday Future beats that just by bit since their car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.39 seconds.

LeEco breaks ground on $3 billion electric car factory
LeEco has been on a quite precarious ground as of late, partially because their CEO is having issues with some of his other startups, including Faraday Future, an electric car company in the US. However, Faraday Future and LeSee the car division of LeEco are not the same company although the technology in LeSee has been developed by Faraday.
There have been many doubts about Faraday Future's capabilities and future as a company since they have yet to release a product. However, LeEco is still moving forward with their $3 billion electric car factory in China. This is after the company's own CEO Jia Yueting admitted that perhaps LeEco has overextended itself across too many markets. As of right now LeEco makes phones, TVs, bicycles, VR headsets and cars. All of these markets require significant capital and human resources and it appears that LeEco may have stretched themselves too thinly.
In September, LeEco got $1 billion to bring its electric and self-driving cars to the Chinese market, but still falls short of the $3 billion necessary to complete the factory. That also doesn't account the funds Jia or his investors will need to also get Faraday Future on track to deliver a car and not implode before they finish their development for LeEco's LeSee car.

Tesla's autonomous tech detects an accident in 1 second
Tesla recently released its new Autopilot v8.0 technology in September, with the company teasing its new radar processing technology that was pushed out over-the-air to all of its electric vehicles with the first-gen Autopilot hardware.
This new update allows the system to see ahead of the car in front of you, tracking multiple cars on the road - as it's able to bounce underneath, or around the car in front of the Tesla. There haven't been any videos of this taking place, but unfortunately - today it happened, and for the Tesla Model S owner Hans Noorsdij had his vehicle avoid an accident for him.
Tesla's Autopilot Forward Collision Warning can be heard sending an alert out for something, and less than a second later a massive accident happens, with the Model S coming to a safe, and to a not-so-abrupt stop. Amazingly, everyone "turned out to be OK" after the accident - even with the SUV rolling over. We now have an amazing demonstration of what Tesla's still-early-days Autopilot technology is capable of in the real-world.

Tesla's next-gen charger will charge its cars in minutes
If there's one thing that electric cars need, it's faster charging - and it looks like that's in the immediate future for Tesla Motors. Elon Musk, or the real life Tony Stark, has teased that the next generation is Superchargers will be pushing somewhere above 350kW.
Musk fielded some questions over Twitter, Fred Lambert suggesting that Supercharger V3 will have 350kW output - but Musk had the reply of a lifetime, teasing: "A mere 350 kW ... what are you referring to, a children's toy?". If Tesla does indeed hit a doubling in power output, charging up their growing family of electric cars could be faster than ever before.
We could be looking at a stop at the service station, or a specific carpark, being able to charge your Tesla electric vehicle in minutes - impressive stuff.

Tesla's Gigafactory looks busy in the newest footage
Tesla's Gigafactory is looking pretty amazing, as new drone footage shows. The footage was taken by Matthew Roberts and posted to YouTube.
The footage was recorded using a DJI Phantom 3 Professional and it shows views of the construction process in Ultra HD 4K.
It looks like Tesla is busy finishing what is going to be world's largest building by physical area once done.

Tesla's latest Easter Egg sends your car to Mars
It's no news that Elon Musk likes to add Easter Eggs in the Tesla's software - from Mario Kart animation in Autopilot to making your Model S submersible (although only on the control panel, for now).
The latest Easter Egg, reported by Jason Hughes, is probably the best one so far and I can only imagine Musk smiling when thinking of this on. We all know about Musk's plans to colonize Mars.

Faraday Future's car beats Tesla's Model S P100D
Faraday Future keeps teasing their upcoming electric car that they will unveil on January 3rd in Las Vegas. So far, we saw a couple of photos that give us an idea of what to expect.
We learned that they aren't going for a conventional design and that Faraday Future decided to ditch the side view mirrors and instead install cameras.
However, the latest trailer posted on their YouTube page shows something much more interesting than the design. According to the footage, Faraday Future's first production vehicle is faster than Tesla's Model S P100D.

Model S owner turns his garage into a Tesla showroom
It's pretty safe to say that Tesla Motors doesn't have just customers, they have fans. And a video posted on YouTube by user DΓrik proves it.
In the video, Erik documented the transformation of his plain-looking garage to a Tesla showroom. He painted the wall red, installed the Tesla sign and even completed the look with the same stools and table that Tesla uses in several of its showrooms.
You can check out the entire process in the video and let us know what you think in the comments.

Tesla will charge lazy drivers who park at Superchargers
Recently, some electric car owners expressed their discontentment with reckless drivers who take advantage of Tesla's charging stations. Apparently, many owners use the charging stations as parking spots which result in other drivers not being able to charge their cars.
Elon Musk made a statement on Twitter saying that Tesla Motors will react and do something to improve the availability of Superchargers. And we didn't have to wait long because Tesla announced on their official blog that they are introducing a fleet-wide idle fee that aims to increase Supercharger availability.

This 681 HP Ferrari will be released in only 10 units
Ferrari unveiled their new limited edition car - J50. The two-seater car is introduced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Ferrari in Japan, which is why the car is named J50.
Based on the 488 Spider, the J50 is powered by a specific 690 cv version of the 3.9-litre V8 that won the overall International Engine of the Year Award this year. The output is up by 20 horsepower, giving the J50 a total of 681 HP.
The design of this mid-rear-engined roadster is futuristic, but the inspiration for the car's bodywork was inspired by iconic Ferrari cars such as the F40 and F50.

Tesla's Autopilot in action: Saving from an accident
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that last year there were 6.3 million vehicle crashes in the US. Recently, they said that traffic deaths jumped by 10.4% in the first six months of 2016. The statistics are quite terrifying. Nearly 1.3 million people die in road crashes each year, and as many as 50 million are injured globally.
Self-driving cars will save millions of lives caused by careless or drunk drivers, and this video posted on YouTube by user Kyle Conner shows that Tesla's Autopilot is already saving lives.
Although the Autopilot on this Tesla Model X wasn't activated, the system is always on for safety even when not active. The footage shows the system warning of a potentially serious accident which alarmed the driver and helped him react in time.

Electric car that has a garden and turns into an office
Rinspeed, a Swiss car manufacturer, is famous for its exotic concepts that don't enter into production but attract a lot of attention.
At CES, the company will introduce a self-driving electric car called Oasis that also has a small garden plot behind the windshield. Yes, a garden. I guess if you are stuck in traffic you can plant or water your flowers or something?
With its large glass areas and shrouds on the front wheels, the refined and swift two-seat runabout looks rather futuristic. The company says they found the inspiration for this concept in the famous Star Wars icon R2D2 because their car can also turn on its wheels with almost a zero radius thanks to a special steering angle, two in-wheel electric motors and torque vectoring.

Faraday Future keeps teasing their upcoming electric car
Another day, another teaser from Faraday Future. This one reveals the most so far when it comes to the design, and as we previously reported, they aren't going for a conventional design.
The image also shows that the LiDAR sensor is placed in the middle of the hood. From what we saw so far, they are aiming for a futuristic look of the car.
The previous image revealed that Faraday Future decided to ditch the side view mirrors and instead install cameras. This is something that Tesla did with their Model X when they first unveiled it, and BMW with i8. However, those cars didn't go into production with cameras instead of mirrors because transportation laws and regulations didn't allow for it. Since then, Japan has approved this feature on their roads and many other countries are reportedly looking to do the same.

Faraday Future car will have cameras instead of mirrors
Faraday Future is preparing for their big event at this year's CES on January 3rd when they will unveil their first production vehicle.
The electric car should be a mass-market vehicle and one of Tesla's competitors. So far, Faraday Future is successfully hiding the details about their electric car, but they posted another teaser on their Twitter which gives us at least some insights.
The image of the cars reveals that Faraday Future decided to ditch the mirrors and instead install cameras. Faraday Future unveils its first electric car next month
So far, we've heard a lot about Faraday Future, but haven't actually seen anything. The American startup company established in 2014 has yet to unveil their first electric car.
There was a lot of hype before their event at last year's CES, but many were left disappointed. Instead of a mass-market car, the company showed a futuristic concept named FFZERO01. The company will now try to redeem themselves at this year's CES.
They have shown a teaser for their CES event, which will be held on January 3rd, stating that they will unveil their first production vehicle.

Top car manufacturers team up to build charging stations
One of the biggest problems with the electric cars is their range or lack of charging stations for such vehicles. To improve the current situation and encourage people to buy electric cars, the leading car manufacturers have agreed that they will jointly invest in the construction of a network of ultra-fast charging sites across Europe.
Driven by the huge demand for Tesla's cars in the US, manufacturers such as Daimler, Ford, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche will finance the project, which will start next year. In the first phase, they plan to build 400 charging stations. By the end of 2020, they want to ensure that drivers have thousands of charging points across Europe where they will be able to recharge their electric cars. The network will allow ultra-fast power levels of up to 350kW.
"The availability of high-power stations allows long-distance electric mobility for the first time and will convince more and more customers to opt for an electric vehicle," Daimler Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche said.
