iPhone 8 to start at $850; 256GB model priced at $1000
Apple's 10th-anniversary phone is set to see the light of day sometime in September this year. There are a lot of expectations from Apple, especially considering that this year's phone will mark ten years since the launch of the first iPhone.
Previous rumors have suggested that the iPhone 8 (assuming it will be named the iPhone 8) will cost $1000, but UBS analyst Steven Milunovich believes that the prices won't be that insane. According to him, the base 64GB model could start at $850 to $900 in the US, which is similar to the price of Samsung Galaxy S8+.
Milunovich explained that the iPhone 8 could start at under $1000 cause he believes that the 5.8-inch device will be competing at a screen size disadvantage compared to the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+.

Samsung spends $9 billion on expansions, for the iPhone
Apple is expected to blow the doors off of its new multi-billion HQ in a few months, with the announcement and reveal of the first next-gen iPhone in a long time - that wasn't a slight upgrade on the previous-gen handset. It will reportedly roll out with next-gen features, an OLED display, in what should be the 'next big thing' in cameras, and more.
But Apple don't manufacturer the OLED displays themselves, that's the job of their #1 competitor: Samsung. According to South Korean news site The Investor, Samsung is expanding its OLED production capabilities, with $8.9 billion being spent on expanding OLED production - this year alone. Apple shifting into the world of OLED has most likely driven Samsung to the $9 billion investment, as it will want to lead the mobile OLED display market.
Samsung has been using OLED screens in its flagship smartphones for a few years now, but Apple does big business in flagship smartphones, too. Samsung currently has 95% of the market, which is one of the reasons Apple would've chosen their competitor in the smartphone business, to make their new OLED displays for the next-gen iPhone. The new iPhone will reportedly be called the iPhone X - with another iPhone that will succeed the iPhone 7 in what should be the iPhone 7S.

Samsung is aware of weird fingerprint sensor location
Samsung has unveiled their highly-anticipated flagship devices - the Galaxy S8 and S8+, and one of the biggest changes, design-wise, is the position of the fingerprint sensor.
The Galaxy S8's predecessors had the fingerprint sensor in the front of the device, but on the Galaxy S8 and S8+, the fingerprint sensor is in the back of the device, right next to the camera.
While numerous smartphones have the fingerprint sensor on the back, Samsung's positioning is a bit questionable since it is literally right next to the camera and users will certainly smudge the camera while trying to unlock the phone. Sure, you can also unlock your Galaxy S8 or S8+ via iris scanner or facial recognition, but that is not the point.

HTC's Snapdragon 835 powered flagship leaks - the HTC U
HTC unveiled their latest smartphones earlier this year, the U Play and U Ultra, but they are yet to unveil a worthy successor of the HTC 10. Although it has been rumored that the device will be named the HTC 11, trustworthy leaker Evan Blass gave us some new insight into the HTC's this year's flagship, and it seems that this name is out of the game.
According to Blass, HTC chose a rather simple name for their upcoming device - HTC U. The device is codenamed Ocean, and it turns out we already saw a glimpse of it last September when a video of the then-called Sense Touch feature leaked. The new leak has stated that the Taiwanese company has decided to go for another name, Edge Sense, but it is the same thing.
This feature will allow you to control a number of customizable actions with gestures that you perform on the U's metal frame (instead of the screen). As shown in the video, you will be able to perform actions such as turning the volume up or down by swiping along the left of right sides of the device.
