Pixel 2 might come without a headphone jack

Google's Pixel smartphone was one of the best phones of last year, and the company has confirmed that its successor will come this year.

Not much is know about the phone at the moment, other than that it will remain a premium device with more or less the same price tag.

A new rumor suggests that the Pixel 2 might ditch the headphone jack. Like any rumor, this was should also be taken with a grain of salt.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 codenamed 'Great'

After the Note7 fiasco, there was speculation of what will happen with to the Note line and whether Samsung will discontinue it, which would be a shame since the Note7 was a wonderful phone (apart from the exploding batteries).

Earlier this year, DJ Koh, Samsung's Mobile Chief, confirmed that the Note isn't dead and we will be seeing the Galaxy Note8 later this year.

The newest rumor says that the Galaxy Note8 will be codenamed "Great." Given the name, and the debacle with the Note7, we are pretty sure that Samsung will try to make up for their users by creating a marvelous device.

MWC 2017 - One of the most unexpected devices at this year's MWC was a lesser-know smartphone that attracted attention with good specs for a decent price - the Noa H10le ("le" stands for limited edition).

The phone comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED 1080x1920 display. It is powered by MediaTek's deca-core Helio X27 processor and comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The H10le packs a dual camera (13MP+13MP), plus a 13MP selfie cam. There's also a fingerprint sensor on board, along with dual SIM card slot, and USB Type-C. The device rocks a 4,000 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ release pushed back

Samsung has announced that they will unveil the Galaxy S8 and S8+ on March 29th at 11:00 AM EDT in New York. There are a lot of rumors about the upcoming phones floating around, and we pretty much know what to expect.

Earlier rumors suggested that the devices will be available on April 21st. However, it now appears that the Korean giant has postponed that date for a week.

Evan Blass tweeted that the new date for the release of the S8 duo is April 28th.

ZTE's Gigabit LTE phone is almost 5G

MWC 2017 - ZTE has unveiled their Gigabit concept phone in Barcelona, as expected. The Chinese company describes the phone as a "forward-looking smartphone" for the 5G era, although we won't see the successor to 4G LTE in wide usage until 2019.

Moto G5 and G5 Plus are affordable mid-range phones

MWC 2017 - Lenovo and Motorola have announced the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus in Barcelona, mid-range phones that didn't cause as nearly as much excitement as the Nokia 3310 did.

During MWC, I got my hands-on both phones, and the first hands-on impression is that they don't feel like premium phones, but then again - they aren't supposed to compete with Apple's iPhone or Huawei's latest P10.

The Moto G5 Plus is the bigger and more powerful device out of the two. It comes with 5.2-inch display and is powered by Snapdragon 625. The Moto G5 Plus will come in versions with 2/3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage, expandable with a microSD card.

Rick Osterloh, VP of Hardware at Google, confirmed this to Android Pit in a briefing at MWC.

Osterloh also confirmed that this year's Pixel would have more or less the same price as the original phone, meaning that we are looking at another premium device.

MWC 2017 - Samsung has confirmed the date for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ announcement - March 29th. The date was previously rumored, and now the Korean giant confirmed that we would see the Snapdragon 835 powered device at the end of March.

We've heard a lot about the phones in the previous weeks, and today those leaks have been confirmed. Huawei spent a good part of their press event talking about the design of the phones and the color options.

The P10 comes with a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 at the front, and all-metal back with a hyper-diamond cut or sandblasted finish. The fingerprint sensor is now at the front of the device, unlike the P9 which has the fingerprint sensor at the back.

MWC 2017 - Probably the most iconic phone in the history of cell phones is coming back. The Nokia 3310! HMD Global didn't miss out on the opportunity to show the modern version of the indestructible phone during their press event in Barcelona.

The feature-phone comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display and a bit...unusual design. Courage, maybe? The design won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it is the legendary Nokia 3310. You can choose between four colors - red, blue, yellow, and gray, with all of them being playful and will certainly stand out.

The Nokia 3310 runs on the Nokia Series 30+ OS, and it comes with Opera browsers, just have in mind you will have to limit your browsing to 2G speeds since that's the best that the device supports and there's no Wi-Fi.

MWC 2017 - The most anticipated phone of MWC 2017 has been announced in Barcelona - the LG G6. The launch more or less confirmed numerous leaks that we've witnessed in the past few weeks, so there was no room for surprises at the event which attracted more people than LG expected.

LG G6 is official with Snapdragon 821 and 18:9 display

The LG G6 comes with a 5.7-inch 2880x1440 resolution FullVision display, and for the first time in a smartphone - an 18:9 screen aspect ratio. This means that the G6 offers more viewing space and a more immersive experience when streaming videos and playing games. But even with the large screen, the phone is easy to hold, and you can easily use it with one hand.

The design of the phone is quite smooth since the device is sculpted from aluminum and glass, which comes in black, platinum, and white. The fingerprint sensor is located in the back of the phone, and the dual camera is flush with the body.

iPhone 7 explodes, smoke coming out caught on video

It looks like Apple doesn't want to let Samsung have all the flagship exploding fun, with an iPhone 7 Plus owner seeing their expensive smartphone explode, with smoke pouring out of the side of it.

The video has over 1.2 million views, with massive amounts of replies and retweets. Brianna Olivas, the owner of the iPhone 7 Plus, said that the troubles began the day before it exploded. She purchased the iPhone 7 Plus from Sprint, and it wouldn't turn on - so she went to an Apple Store, where staff ran diagnostics on the handset and said it was fine.

Olivas' iPhone 7 Plus was fine, until the next morning when it caught fire , with smoke billowing out of the side of it. She said on Twitter through a direct message to Mashable: "The next morning I was asleep with my phone charging next to my head, my boyfriend grabbed the phone and put it on the dresser".

Samsung's Galaxy S8+ sports huge 6.2-inch display

Samsung isn't far away from launching its Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones, so here we are with some spoilers. The Galaxy S8+ is going to be huge, with a massive 6.2-inch (full rectangle) / 6.1-inch (rounded corners) Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display. Expect Samsung's new Galaxy S8 and S8+ to be the first with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 835 processor.

Inside, will be a 12MP dual pixel rear camera with an 8MP front-facing camera. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be IP68 dust/water resistant, 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage expandable with microSD, they'll feature an iris scanner and security with Samsung's own Knox technology - features found in the Galaxy Note 7.

Notorious leaker Evan Blass revealed the specs on Twitter, which also list wireless charging support - with a charging pad being optional, Android (but no details on whether it's Android 7.0, 7.1, or anything else) - and earphones "tuned by AKG".

Huawei officially announces Honor V9

Huawei has announced the Honor V9 smartphone just ahead of MWC in Barcelona.

The V9 comes with a 5.7-inch QHD display, and rocks a dual 12MP+12MP camera. For selfies, there is an 8MP selfie camera.

The Phone is powered by Huawei's Kirin 960 processor, the same that powers the Mate 9. The V9 comes with 6GB of RAM, and you can choose between 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, expandable with a microSD card.
