TSMC posts $33.1 billion for the quarter, its best quarter in history thanks to AI, HPC demand
TSMC has reported its best quarter in history, with its Q3 2025 earnings report driven by the unstoppable AI and HPC demand, which makes up around 57% of its sales.
TSMC posted $33.1 billion of revenue for Q3 2025, which is up an astounding 40.8% year-over-year, and 10.1% quarter-over-quarter, with a net income of $14.77 billion, which is up 39.1% year-on-year. TSMC's gross margin hit 59.5%, an excellent result for a foundry that is a contract chip maker for other companies and doesn't sell products itself.
The company has enjoyed its best quarter yet thanks to the unstoppable sales of AI accelerators and various AI infrastructure processors including CPUs, DPUs, and networking components. Q3 2025 saw the company also taking in revenue from Apple's latest A19, A19 Pro, and M5 processors made on its N3P process node.
Samsung 1c DRAM for HBM4 yields rumored to hit around 50% to battle SK hynix and Micron
Samsung has reached around 50% yield rate for its next-gen 1c DRAM for HBM4 according to new reports, intensifying its rivalry with SK hynix on next-gen HBM4 memory for AI GPUs.
In new reports EBN picked up by insider @Jukanlosreve on X, we're hearing that Samsung has made an even bigger gamble on DRAM, with 5 new High-NA EUV lithography machines from ASML purchased, two of the new High-NA EUV machines introduced to Samsung's semiconductor foundry division, with plans to also use 5 general EUV machines exclusively to its memory division.
The strategy from Samsung is to maximize production efficiency and expertise by building a dedicated memory production line, where it could be fabbing HBM4 far quicker, also preparing for HBM4E and next-gen HBM5 memory and beyond. A semiconductor industry official said: "Until now, foundries and memory have been using the EUV process together at the Pyeongtaek campus, but with the recent change in trend, five additional units will be brought in exclusively for memory use".
G.SKILL DDR5 RAM overclocked to stable 10,600 MT/s using AMD Ryzen 5 8500G on ASUS B850 mobo
G.SKILL has announced that its team has pushed its DDR5 memory up to a MemTest stable 10,600 MT/s speeds, using the AMD Ryzen 5 8500G processor and based B850M motherboard from ASUS.
In a new post on X, G.SKILL announced its EXPO-rated DDR5-6000 CL26 48GB kit (2 x 24GB sticks) was used on an ASUS B850M AYW Gaming OC motherboard and AMD Ryzen 5 8500G processor, with the RAM overclocked to an insane 10,600 MT/s.
Interestingly, the ASUS B850M AYW Gaming OC motherboard is a mid-range motherboard that the company designed with overclocking in mind, but it's not in many markets yet. The test involved using standard cooling, no CPU configuration tweaks, and dual DIMMs... normally for overclocking records on RAM, the CPU core configuration is changed, LN2 cooling is used, and a single DIMM is deployed. Not for this new stable record.
Nintendo could bring DS games over to the Switch 2 soon
Nintendo may be preparing to bring a collection of DS games to the Nintendo Switch 2, as a new patent has revealed how Nintendo can address the issue of dual-screen games being displayed on a single screen.
The Switch 2 has already become a major success for Nintendo, and if the company wants to retain its ever-growing userbase, it will need to continue to release a flurry of both Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive titles, along with Nintendo classics that have baked in nostalgic attraction, coupled with Switch 2 upgrades. With this in mind, what better Nintendo system to take advantage of than the DS?
However, there is a problem. DS games are built for a dual-screen system, meaning it's not as simple as porting over Game Boy or N64 titles, as developers will need to compensate for the Switch 2 having a singular screen. But, it seems a workaround has been discovered, with user MikeOdysseyYT taking to X to share a patent that shows a few of Nintendo's ideas on how it could get DS games to run on the Switch 2.

Copilot Vision is a new AI assistant that also sees everything on your Windows 11 display
With Siri, Google, Alexa, and other voice-activated digital assistants, it's not exactly surprising to hear that Microsoft's Copilot is adding voice controls. However, Copilot Vision is something different, in that it's an AI-powered agent that can see what it is you're doing in Windows 11 and offer advice, assistance, guidance, tips, and more.
Microsoft believes that Copilot Vision is the next step in making every Windows 11 PC an AI PC. All you need to do is say "Hey Copilot" to engage with the AI agent and then use natural language to do everything from answer questions about something on-screen, analyzing documents to find something specific, or provide tips while you're playing a game.
In addition to being able to see what's on your screen, Copilot Vision will also have "full app context" for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, so it can review an entire document or deck without being limited to just what's on screen. Copilot Vision is a new opt-in feature, and surprisingly, it's now available "in all markets where Copilot is offered."
Dead Space creator says Elon Musk is 'full of crap' when it comes to AI-generated games
Earlier this month, Elon Musk took to his very own social media platform X to state that by the end of next year, his xAI game development studio will release the first "great AI-generated game." It's somewhat of a vague statement, but it refers to a new type of playable game that exists without a traditional game engine or human-created art, design, and other data.
Basically, AI will generate everything you see on-the-fly, from visuals to music, sound, and gameplay, based on player movement and the type of experience it will offer. We've already seen some early versions of this; however, they're prototypes and, like all AI-generated art, are trained and based on existing human-created works. Like this example of AI-generated Doom, and this example of AI-generated Minecraft.
Elon Musk is no stranger to making bold statements or predictions, and even though what constitutes "great" is subjective, Dead Space creator Glen Schofield (via PC Gamer) responded to Musk's statement that the first great AI-generated game will be here by the end of 2026 by saying, "He's full of crap. That's what I believe. I want to actually say that to him."
Steve Jobs and Apple honored by US mint with new official $1 coin
The United States Mint is going to honor Steve Jobs and Apple with a new $1 coin under the 2026 American Innovation $1 Coin Program.
According to the Mint, the new coin will feature a young Steve Jobs sitting in front of a rolling landscape that's covered in northern oak trees. The landscape is meant to represent the northern California hills, and is meant to capture Jobs' reflective pose, and how natural environments inspired his goal to design the technology he cultivated into being as natural as native environments.
The coin is inscribed with "Make Something Wonderful," which is a reference to what Jobs would use to write in internal Apple emails to employees about pursuing creativity, along with care in everything the company produced. Elana Hagler designed the aesthetic of the coin, and Phebe Hemphill sculpted it. These two artists are responsible for the blending of realism and symbolism.

DDR5 RAM exceeds 13000 MT/s speeds: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 overclocked to record 13010 MT/s
The massive DDR5-13000 memory frequency wall has been breached, with an overclocker using Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM pushed to 13,010 MT/s setting a new world record.
In a benchmark session from professional overclocker "SaltyCroissant" who used Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM on a GIGABYTE Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE motherboard, overclocked it to over 13,000 MT/s... 13,010 MT/s to be precise, the first to hit that new peak frequency.
HWBot has the results, which were also verified by CPU-Z, with a DDR5 frequency of 6504.0MHz, with an effective data rate of 13,010 MT/s. We have been getting close to the 13,000 mark for a few months now, with lots of new incremental DDR5 overclocked frequencies broken, but now the mountain of 13,000+ has been reached.

Razer's new Razer Kiyo V2 webcam combines 4K capture with AI-powered features for creators
Razer has just updated its webcam offerings for gamers, streamers, and creators with the new Razer Kiyo V2 and Razer Kiyo V2 X. The big headline feature of the flagship Razer Kiyo V2 model, priced at $149.99 USD, is that it supports crisp and vibrant 4K video powered by an 8.3 MP Sony STARVIS Sensor; however, it is limited to 30FPS. For streamers, it also supports 1080p 60FPS.
Razer notes that the Kiyo V2 has been designed to offer "professional-grade image and video" in a webcam, with additional AI-powered optimizations and features via a partnership with Reincubate and its popular Camo Studio app. This includes AI-powered auto-framing, lighting correction, and backgrounds.
"With the Kiyo V2, we wanted to give creators the best of both worlds," said Addie Tan, Global Head of Lifestyle Division at Razer. "The original Kiyo Pro set a new standard for webcam image quality, but we knew creators needed more than just sharp visuals. That's why we built the Kiyo V2 with true 4K clarity and layered in intelligent AI optimizations, so streaming becomes easier, smarter, and truly stream-ready."
Razer's stunning 'Phantom White' line-up offers see-through retro gaming inspired gear
Razer recently debuted its 'Phantom Collection' of peripherals, which includes a keyboard, mouse, and headset, earlier this year. Inspired by the era of console gaming, where you could buy translucent Nintendo and Xbox hardware, Razer's first run of Phantom gear drew its retro inspiration from the latter, featuring translucent green hardware paired with vibrant Razer Chroma lighting.
This week, the company has announced that it is expanding its popular offerings with a new Phantom White collection, which it says presents a "sleek new translucent colorway in white that brings retro-futuristic vibes to modern gaming setups." Now, if you're a fan of the era where you could buy see-through gaming hardware, one look at the images will probably be enough to get you on board with the idea.
Razer is also expanding its Phantom offerings to include the Razer Kishi V3 mobile controller with a Phantom White Edition. It joins the new lineup of Razer gear that consists of the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K mouse, Razer BlackWidow V4 75% keyboard, Razer Barracuda X Chroma headset, and Razer Firefly V2 Pro mouse mat. These are all available now in Phantom White Edition variants.

Blizzard's tech teams vote to unionize, join alongside Diablo and World of Warcraft unions
Hundreds of Blizzard's tech developers have unionized with the Communication Workers of America.
As the video games industry labor market continues to contract, more workers are unionizing in the effort to secure a better foothold in a volatile sector. It's been revealed that almost 400 Blizzard developers have chosen to organize under the CWA labor union, joining other unions within Microsoft's walls.
"We are forming a union to hold leadership accountable and to ensure that we can focus on building amazing experiences for the gaming community," said organizing committee member and Principal Software Engineer Daniel Weltz.
ASUS intros its first AMD-based ROG NUC Mini PC: Ryzen 9 9955HX3D CPU, up to RTX 5070 GPU
ASUS has just launched its first-ever AMD-powered ROG NUC Mini PC, packing the flagship Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor, and offering up to NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. Check it out:

Inside, Apple's new M5 processor is at the heart of the new iPad Pro, with up to 10 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores, with each of them featuring a Neural Processor for improved AI and gaming performance.
Quantic Dream's making Spellcasters Chronicles, a 3v3 spell-flinging MOBA with deck building
Quantic Dream has revealed that it's making a new game called Spellcasters Chronicles, a free 3v3 MOBA outing.
It's a major change in direction as the developer acknowledges (we'll come back to that). The game was revealed on X and looks to be typical MOBA fare with teams of three.
As you can see in the above trailer, you're going to be flying around at pace, chucking spells at your enemies and summoning creatures (with some kind of deck building element for both your creatures and the spells that you wield).
EA workers fight back: union slams $55 billion Saudi-backed buyout
Electronic Arts (EA) was recently bought out by a consortium that is made up of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners investment firm for $55 billion. Now, a union representing EA workers has publicly opposed the sale and privatization of the company, saying employees weren't properly represented during the sale negotiations.
The statement names the United Videogame Workers-CWA Local 9433, along with the Communication Workers of America (CWA), as now very concerned that the privatization of EA will lead to company layoffs. The union states EA is "not a struggling company," with "annual revenues reaching $7.5 billion and $1 billion in profit each year".
The statement continues, and says EA's success has been "driven by the tens of thousands of EA workers," which made "EA worth buying in the first place."

CWA Labor Union, EA workers issue formal opposition to $55 billion Saudi buyout
The Communication Workers of America (CWA) labor union has issued a statement that opposes EA's proposed $55 billion sale.
EA is being taken private in a substantial $55 billion deal. A consortium is buying out EA's shares in the largest-ever leveraged buyout in tech history, consisting of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners--the investment firm of US President Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
There's been pushback against the deal, as EA remains the largest US-based independent publisher that the video games industry has left, following Microsoft's $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Labor union CWA has issued a statement on the buyout, expressing concerns that the deal will trigger mass layoffs, project cancellations, and significant labor disruptions--as major industry-shaking acquisitions, sales, and consolidations are wont to do. The EA buyout comes with $20 billion in "junk" debt, indicating unfavorably high interest rates against EA, which could trigger more layoffs and cost cutting. Then there's EA's potent generative AI on the other end of the worries.
