The new Fallout TV show streaming on Amazon Prime Video is getting very positive praise, leading fans of the Bethesda asking where an Elder Scrolls adaptation is, and if one is currently being made.

Todd Howard, the director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios, and mastermind behind both franchises, appeared on the red carpet and spoke to IGN about a possible Elder Scrolls TV show, which was first mentioned three years ago by Hollywood insider Daniel Ritchman who said Netflix were potentially working on such a show. Howard responded to the question by throwing a wet blanket on any hopes of a secret Elder Scrolls TV show being developed, "there's nothing in the works".

However, there is still hope for one. The Bethesda director, who is also an executive producer on the Fallout TV show, said he never thought a Fallout TV show was going to work until presented with the right idea and person behind the camera. In the instance of the Fallout TV show this person was Christopher Nolan's brother, Jonathan Nolan, the creator of Westworld, Person of Interest, and a writer on Interstellar, The Prestige, and The Dark Knight.

In February, Microsoft announced its killing support for Windows 10, its most popular operating system, and users of that OS are now receiving full-screen advertisements informing them to upgrade to Windows 11.

Microsoft announced its ending support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, and users of the operating system are now recommended to start the migration process over to the company's latest version of Windows, Windows 11. Notably, as of early December, Windows 10 held a massive 71.64% market share, which hasn't changed from figures in September 2023 and September 2022. However, as of February 2024, the market share for Windows 10 dropped to 67% compared to Windows 11 at 26%.

In an effort to make the transition more known to users, Microsoft has decided to start displaying full-screen advertisements to Windows 10 users, with one user taking to Reddit to share the above image that details the company's decision to end support for the popular operating system on October 14, 2025. Furthermore, the advertisement doesn't appear to have a "never remind me again" option, only "remind me later," meaning users will likely get the full-screen ad randomly in the future.

First game prices jumped to $70, now game subscriptions are next in line for a price hike.

The games industry is currently going through a universal cost adjustment, and like any publicly-traded companies, video games firms are passing those higher prices down to consumers. Years after the Gen9 console generation introduced the new $70 MSRP for software, we're now seeing game subscriptions hiking up monthly price tags as the services mature (and as the companies aim for more profit).

Over the last few years, we've seen both PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass increase in price across most subscription plans (except for the PC Game Pass tier). Ubisoft splintered its subscription, and Electronic Arts just raised prices of its EA Play Pro sub to a similar monthly price point. All of these services are nose-to-nose with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which offers access to hundreds of games for $16.99 a month.

Apple makes a pre-emptive change in its App Store policies in an effort to head off negative effects from the European Union's new Digital Markets Act (DMA) legislation.

The EU's new DMA is changing the face of the digital world as we know it. European lawmakers have used the new act to crack open Apple's ill-favored App Store policies and force some pretty big changes. The biggest shake-up is that Apple must now allow app developers to sell their apps and content on independent third-party stores on iOS, a move that allows developers to circumvent Apple's 30% commission fee.

As part of Apple's DMA-sparked changes, retro game emulators will now be unbanned on the App Store and users are free to download and use them.

Microsoft is 'full speed ahead' on its next-gen Xbox hardware, which is said to be the most technologically-advanced console ever made.

Microsoft has officially made some big decisions around the next Xbox console. FTC vs MSFT court leaks from 2023 showed that Microsoft was thinking about using ARM CPUs and potentially hybrid compute solutions (side note: new Windows Surface tablets are using ARM).

There's also mention of the new Gen10 Xbox potentially having an NPU, or a Neural Processing Unit, which is a dedicated chip used expressly for AI. The idea is that the NPU could handle specific AI-oriented tasks and free up the CPU and GPU for more important tasks like rendering and processing assets.

Microsoft isn't giving up on consoles any time soon.

Xbox's new president Sarah Bond has set up a new team to oversee what is arguably the most important thing for Xbox consoles: Backwards compatibility. The news comes by way of Windows Central's Jez Corden, who was told that the new division would focus on software compatibility between console generations.

The idea is to continue to carry forward the Xbox legacy across multiple hardware generations, where the software can be re-sold/re-packaged to consumers as standalone game sales or within subscriptions. Microsoft's commitment in this space has led to 4 generations of Xbox games being playable on the Series X/S generation, and Gen10 Xboxes could bump that up to that 5 generations of support. Also, let's not forget Microsoft wants to create a Universal Store that sells games and content across all consumer endpoints, including everything from mobile phones to PCs and consoles.

New reports may give clues on what's next for Destiny.

It sounds like a numbered Destiny sequel may be back on the table. New reports say that Bungie was (or may currently be) working on Destiny 3, which was being crafted under the codename Payback. The info comes by way of a mysterious Redditor whose prophetic words proved to be eerily accurate--they predicted Destiny 2's Prism subclass feature a month before it was revealed.

With this proven win under their belt, everyone is now taking the user seriously and looking into what else is being said about Destiny. According to the source of the leaks, Destiny 3 would essentially remove all barriers to character classes. Abilities and powers would no longer be exclusively available to certain classes--at least that's how it was described.

As part of the European Union's Digital Markets Act, Apple is now required to offer iPhone owners in the territory the opportunity to pick a new browser option rather than Safari and a new report shows that the move has seen a surge in downloads of third-party alternatives.

According to a Reuters report, independent browser companies have seen a spike in downloads within the first month of the DMA's existence.

Following the launch of the DMA, Apple's iPhones must offer users the chance to choose their own browser with Apple offering a random list of alternatives. One of those third-party browsers that Apple has suggested is the Cyrpsu-based Aloha Browser and Reuters says that it has experienced a 250% jump in downloads for March alone. Aloha says that before the DMA change, the EU was its fourth biggest market. Now, it's all the way up to the second spot.

There's a lot expected to happen within the next few weeks with new iPads and accessories set to be announced in May. There have been a ton of leaks relating to the iPads in particular, but the latest appears to have details about one of the best iPad accessories as well.

That accessory is of course the Apple Pencil, with the third-gen stylus expected to be announced alongside the new tablets. Not an awful lot is known about that Apple Pencil 3, but a new report appears to have added some additional context to rumors of a squeeze gesture coming to the device.

According to a 9to5Mac report based on information found in the latest iPadOS 17.5 beta, the Apple Pencil 3 will offer a squeeze gesture as had been reported previously while new LongSqueeze and DoubleSqueeze gestures also found. The current Apple Pencil 2 only currently supports a double-tap gesture for switching tools and whatnot, but there is no pressure sensitivity available. That now seems to be set to change when the new Apple Pencil arrives.

You don't need to have been following along with the iPhone rumor mill too much to know that Apple is strongly expected to launch a new iOS 18 software update this fall and it's anticipated that it'll bring with it some big new AI features. The software isn't expected to be announced for a while yet, but we're seeing more and more leaks the closer we get to the big date.

The latest of those leaks comes in the form of back-end code that has been discovered and found to reference an unknown Safari browsing assistant feature. It isn't yet known exactly what that feature will do, although the name might suggest a ChatGPT 4-like ability to have AI search the internet and then collect information and present data based on the results.

The same person who shared the details of the Safari browsing assistant feature also shared that Encrypted Visual Search is part of the back-end code, but again it isn't clear what that does. it's possible that it will be an expansion on the existing Visual Search feature that allows people to get information about the content of their photos.

It's Thursday, which means it time for NVIDIA's update on what's going on with GeForce Now, and the hot news - radioactive news, even - is that a pair of Fallout games have been brought into the streaming fold.

They are Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 to be precise. Fallout 4 is a classic action RPG from the best part of a decade ago, but it's getting a next-gen update later in April (two weeks today, in fact). That'll add a bunch of goodies including ultra-widescreen monitor support on PC, and much more besides.

Fallout 76 is, of course, the later online multiplayer take on the franchise which wasn't very well-received back at the time of launch, but has improved considerably since, and actually gets some pretty favorable feedback these days.

If you own an Apple watch Series 9 or Apple Watch Ultra 2 you might have been suffering from so-called ghost touches since the models launched back in September of 2023. But now Apple has a fix, and it also seems that the problem is affecting more devices than was first thought.

While it was thought that the ghost touch problem was limited to Apple's latest wearables, the company has now apparently admitted that the issue is affecting those who own Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch Ultra devices as well. That's according to information shared in a memo that was sent to Apple Authorized Service Providers.

Those service providers have been told that they should not replace the watches of those who report the ghost touch issue, but should instead tell users to try a forced restart of their devices instead. That force restart involves pressing and holding the side button and Digital Crown at the same time for 10 seconds or until the watch restarts. Apple also says that affected Apple Watch owners should be told to make sure that they are running the latest versions of watchOS, perhaps suggesting that the company intends to release a software fix for the issue at a later date.

Apple might have only released its first Macs powered by the M3 chips a few months ago but a new report claims that it is already working towards making the first M4-powered Macs available, too. The report claims that the first Macs with M4 chips are just around the corner with the latest iteration on Apple silicon nearing production.

The report, which comes via Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, claims that the new chip will come in three varieties - likely M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max - and will eventually find its way into every model of Mac that Apple sells. However, the source of the information isn't clear with Gurman keeping their identity secret for obvious reasons.

According to the report Apple plans to release the new Macs beginning later this year before continuing the rollout into 2025. There will be new iMacs and a low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro as well as a high-end 14-inch MacBook Pro to go with an equally powerful 16-inch model. New Mac minis are also expected, all powered by Apple's new M4 trio of chips. Gurman does note that Apple's plans could change, however. Given recent delays associated with the OLED iPad Pro launch, it's entirely possible that could happen.

Fallout 4's anticipated next-gen update is coming April 25, bringing some welcome optimizations across all platforms.

Fallout is back in a big way. The first season of the Fallout TV show is now streaming on Amazon Prime, and Bethesda just announced more details about Fallout 4's upgrade patch. The nearly-10-year-old post-apocalyptic nuclear war survival sim is getting a boost to 60FPS on consoles alongside some adjustments on PC.

On April 25, Bethesda will release the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S updates for Fallout 4. The console updates bring an FPS priority Performance Mode that can hit up to 60 frames-per-second. Quality Mode will apparently upscale graphics and put more emphasis on visuals. Fallout 4 is also getting tweaked on PC with new "stability improvements and fixes" alongside ultra widescreen support.

V-Color has revealed some seriously speedy DDR5 system RAM which is getting on towards the 9GHz milestone for overclocking.

The new Manta XFinity RGB DDR5 memory modules are made in collaboration with MSI, and support being overclocked to a blistering 8600MHz (via Intel's XMP profile).

As V-Color observes, the RAM has been tested and verified on ASRock Phantom Gaming Z790I Lightning Wi-Fi (and Phantom Gaming B760I) motherboards, and it's turning the heads of some expert overclockers already.

Microsoft is bringing new features to Windows 11's Snipping Tool which include the ability to detect QR codes and also the gift of emojis - and plenty of them to be used in decorating your screenshots.

As discovered in testing by regular leaker PhantomOfEarth, there's a new emoji icon which when clicked brings up a panel of 18 commonly used emoji (currently - though this may be expanded).

You can then pick and choose from various smilies and gestures, a star, heart, and other expected icons, which will appear in the canvas. It's then possible to move the emoji, or pull the corners to make it bigger, until you're happy with the result.

Japanese video game developer Koei Tecmo officially filed a lawsuit against Youzu (Singapore) (Yoozoo Games) in Tokyo court on April 8.

The iconic Japanese video game developer has alleged that Youzu (Singapore) has been using content such as music, images, and trademarks from two of its titles, "Nobunaga's Ambition" and "Taiko Risshiden". The suit alleges Youzu (Singapore) has been continuously using Koei Tecmo's intellectual property in web advertisements for 成り上がり～華と武の戦国, which roughly translates to "The Uprising: The Warring States of Flowers and War," Infinity Kingdom, and Dynasty Origins, all of which are published by Youzu (Singapore).

The suit states that Koei Tecmo has warned Youzu (Singapore) multiple times via letters but alleges the company has continued to infringe on its intellectual property. Koei Tecmo is seeking an injunction as well as compensation for damages, but it's not immediately clear if Youzu (Singapore) will lose the case as Japan isn't a part of the Reciprocal Enforcement of Foreign Judgements Regime Act, meaning before any enforcement takes place, the claims will have to be first filed in Singapore.

Since the release of the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, fans have been tearing apart every frame to see if they can figure out what to expect in the game when it releases. One of the main aspects fans are looking for is who is behind the main protagonists.

The two main protagonists, Lucia and Jason, have been a topic of the GTA community since Rockstar Games released the trailer back in December, with many fans theorizing the voice behind Jason would be iconic voice actor Troy Baker, who is known for his performances in The Last of Us, Far Cry 4, BioShock Infinite, Borderlands, Uncharted 4, and many more popular titles. Baker is one of, if not the most decorated voice actor in the video game community, which means it's no surprise that GTA fans hoped he was behind one of the main protagonists in the most anticipated game of all time, GTA 6.

However, the theorizing recently came to an end when Baker confirmed he was not playing the male protagonist, leaving fans to re-dive back into the trailer to find more clues. A post on the GTA 6 subreddit showed a resume by a New York-based actor named Gregory Connors. On the resume was a credit for a "lead" role in a Rockstar game set to release in 2025. Notably, after the Reddit post, Connors removed the "lead" credit from his resume, leading fans to believe he is definitely involved in the project somehow.

In a new report from TrendForce, Dell is reportedly capitalizing on AI, with Dell Taiwan's General Manager saying on April 9 that the company is experiencing stronger server orders and demand in the Taiwanese market. This surge is thanks to AI needs within Taiwan's own corporate sector.
