Asus is getting into the HTPC market if the rumors and pictures popping up just before Computex 2009 at Hardware.info are real.

The tiny new box is going to be built around a new and previously unheard of Realtek audio chip (perhaps similar to the A200 Asus used in the Xonar).

The new box will be called the O!Play and will feature an e-SATA port, these are not usually found on HTPC/Media player systems so it should give the O!Play a nice push into the market.

Sparkle has launched a new card in the GTX 285 family of graphics cards, dubbed the GTX 285 Plus with Unapproachable Cooling Solution.

Sparkle has kicked up the clock speeds with the GTX 285 Plus, bumping the core up to 666MHz, the memory up to 2520MHz, and shaders to 1512MHz. To keep things from melting down with the new speeds, Sparkle has update the cooler on the GTX 285 Plus by adding Arctic Cooling's Accelero Xtreme.

Patriot Memory has announced that the company will be expanding their product lines and soon be offering the Corza NAS unit.

The Corza is a dual-bay unit that supports 3.5" hard drives up to 2TB in size, offering up to 4TB of storage. Storage can be configured in RAID 0, RAID 1, or JBOD offering speed, redundancy, or ease of use.

Two new Core i7 models have managed to pop up for sale on a few sites, including Intel's new flagship, the Core i7 Extreme 975.

Intel doesn't plan on launching the new processors until May 31st, but that doesn't mean that you can't get a preorder in to secure one as soon as Intel lets them start shipping. Both PCs For Everyone and Provantage have the Core i7 975 listed for sale but the chip is going to set you back around $1100. PCs For Everyone also has the Core i7 950 listed and it will cost $650.

It's long been known that Windows 7 supports multitouch and many manufacturers have been pushing touch computing.

Unfortunately many have been less than impressed with Windows 7's touch capabilities. Microsoft is looking to change that with the introduction of the Touch Pack for Windows 7.

Someone managed to get themselves some good pictures of Asus' new M4A785-M EVO mainboard TechConect Magazine was nice enough to re post them for everyone to get a better look at it.

The new board will feature an AM2+ socket and an RS880G / SB710 chip combination. The board will be a Micro-ATX form factor with support four DDR2-1200 modules (possibly allowing up to 16GB of memory).

Video will be provided by an integrated HD 4200 GPU with Hybrid Crossfire and DV 10.1 support. It will be one of the first times Asus' express gate will pop up on a non-enthusiast based mainboard.

Nokia opened its very own App store on Tuesday and already it is feeling the same pinch that got Apple at the launch of the iPhone. According to an article at usatoday.com the Ovi store is having some technical difficulties and is not being accepted as well as would be hoped.

Users are complaining that to access the store they have to login on their phones browser as there is no direct application to allow them access just yet.

But the worst issue came as the servers were overloaded and could not fill all the requests that were coming in from Nokia owners. At the time of this writing Nokia has added additional serves to handle the extra load but the damage may already have been done.

Shuttle has just popped up a pretty neat video of their latest SFF system. This one is actually powered by the VIA nano. As part of the XS29 series the new nano powered systems will be completely fan less. This means minimal noise for those that are picky about a quiet system.

The flavor of Nano under the hood will be the 1GHz U1700, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, with graphics powered by an VIA Chrome9 HC3 integrated GPU.

The box will be small and light and according to Shuttle will sip a mere 50 Watts of power under load.

We told you yesterday that TSMC was having issues with its 40nm process, well now it looks like this issue may affect their move to 28nm. At the time I mentioned that if TSMC cannot get 40nm right they run an even greater risk of losing future nVidia and ATi business.

Now it seems that TSMC will be behind GlobalFoundries in the race to 28nm as their previous claim that it would be ready by Q1 2010 has been deemed as unrealistic by an inside source.

If Global Foundries can get things rolling quickly on the 28nm process and be ready for production in Q4 2009 or early Q1 2010 they can grab up a good deal of the business TSMC was hoping to get.

Over the last couple of weeks everyone has been talking about how evil Intel is and how they unfairly dictate the market with refunds, rebates, special deals etc.

But what no one seems to mention is that AMD may be guilty of similar practices but in a different manner.
