Arrowhead Game Studios has officially announced Masters of Ceremony - the latest royalty-themed Warbond arriving in Helldivers II on May 15.

Helldivers 2 takes on a regal theme with 'Masters of Ceremony', arriving May 15

As detailed in a recent blog post, Masters of Ceremony mobilizes the Federation's "most regal-looking troops yet." The content pack has a distinctly royal theme, from the musket-style R-2 Amendment to the elegant CQC-2 sabre.

As part of the premium pack, players can access the 'Parade Commander' and 'Honorary Guard' armor sets, which draw inspiration from old-school military uniforms. The bundle also comes with its own strategem, booster, and unique throwable - and, of course, stylish capes to match.

Star Wars: The Old Republic 'Dynamic Worlds' is arriving in late May / early June

Ille Smolanko | Gaming | May 10, 2025 9:59 PM CDT

Star Wars: The Old Republic's Game Update 7.7, "Dynamic Worlds", is now available for testing on the game's public test server (PTS). The update adds a swath of new content, including dynamic encounters, character modernization, storyline advancements, and more - and is expected to arrive between late May and early June.

Star Wars: The Old Republic 'Dynamic Worlds' is arriving in late May / early June

As outlined in a recent developer livestream, Update 7.7 focuses on adding new dynamic encounters to the game. In SWTOR, dynamic encounters are a new type of "scheduled, timed quests" that range from humorous to exciting. For example, carrying baby Tauntauns up a hill, helping a Gonk droid with advertising, or launching Gamorreans into a Sarlacc pit.

"Dynamic Worlds" adds new encounters to Tython, Korriban, Ord Mantell, Hutta, Dromund Kass, Coruscant, and Ilum. Allowing players to engage with a variety of new, timed quests on some of the game's major planets. Broadsword specifies that dynamic content "changes, depending on where your character is in the story," and advises testers to experiment across the game's many different eras.

NVIDIA rumored with even-more-cut-down H20 AI GPU for China, complies with US export rules

Anthony Garreffa | Artificial Intelligence | May 9, 2025 11:11 PM CDT

NVIDIA is reportedly preparing an even more downgraded H20 AI GPU for China in the next two months, following further tightening US export restrictions on the original H20.

NVIDIA rumored with even-more-cut-down H20 AI GPU for China, complies with US export rules

The news is coming from the usual "people familiar with the matter" reports Reuters, with NVIDIA notifying major Chinese retailers -- including large cloud computing providers -- with a new modified H20 AI GPU in July, according to "two of the sources".

We have had recent rumors that NVIDIA was preparing a next-generation H30 AI GPU that would drop from using HBM to GDDR memory, but it seems NVIDIA is tweaking the GPU again. The original H20 chip was the most powerful AI chip that NVIDIA could legally sell in China, but the US government informed the company last month that H20 would now require an export license, effectively cutting NVIDIA off from the Chinese market.

PSSR 2 upscaling on PS5 Pro rumor: proper 4K 120FPS and 8K 60FPS supported, ready for GTA 6

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | May 9, 2025 10:10 PM CDT

Sony is rumored to be cooking up its next-gen PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling technology, ready for its PS5 Pro console, and I will continue to say: perfect for Grand Theft Auto 6.

PSSR 2 upscaling on PS5 Pro rumor: proper 4K 120FPS and 8K 60FPS supported, ready for GTA 6

In a new video from leaker Moore's Law is Dead, we're hearing that the new PSSR 2 upscaler might not actually be branded PSSR -- or branded at all -- but the leaker says that PSSR requires a base resolution of 864p (1536 x 864) and is then upscaled using AI to 4K on the PS5 Pro.

Sony reportedly wants to nail down 4K 120FPS (locked) and even 8K 60FPS with PSSR support, with MLID noting that if game developers can get their game running on the PS5 Pro running well at 4K at even 55-60FPS, then PSSR will let developers get to 70-80FPS (noting that it doesn't get you to 100FPS).

Think you type fast? This novel RTS hinges on typing skills, and it's free via Epic store now

Darren Allan | Gaming | May 9, 2025 10:30 AM CDT

There are a couple of new freebies on the Epic Games Store, and one of them is an innovative twist on a real-time strategy game where you construct, and live or die, based on how many words per minute you can rack up on your keyboard.

Think you type fast? This novel RTS hinges on typing skills, and it's free via Epic store now

Touch Type Tale lets you build stuff, expand your territory, guide your armies around (outflanking your opponents and such), or you may even find yourself defending against a siege - all of which is facilitated by typing words as swiftly as you can manage.

You can check out the trailer for Touch Type Tale above to get a taste of what's in store. There are five difficulty levels, and should you want a language-related spin, you can type words in, say, French instead of English.

DOOM: The Dark Ages mech gameplay revealed in stunning 4K

Jak Connor | Gaming | May 9, 2025 10:10 AM CDT

DOOM: The Dark Ages has introduced a mech suit to make destroying the armies of Hell just that much more blood-soaked and enjoyable.

DOOM: The Dark Ages mech gameplay revealed in stunning 4K

The embargo for DOOM: The Dark Ages has lifted, meaning the reviews have gone live, and those who obtained a copy of the game early can publish their thoughts. I was lucky enough to be one of those people, and below are my thoughts on the mech gameplay. The unveiling of the mech suit in the several trailers released by Bethesda attracted quite a "wow" moment from fans, as players are now able to jump into a huge Slayer-esque mech suit to take on several what would be considered end-game-level bosses in previous games.

The gear-up for the mech was awesome, with the Slayer having to connect to the mech via a neuralink to synchronize his body movements with the mech's arms and legs. After that, the blood and glory began. Players are able to take on massive demons in hand-to-hand combat, and with enough combos can unleash a stomp attack, stunning surrounding enemies. It isn't all just hand-to-hand combat, as you are eventually given a railgun to mow enemies down from afar.

DOOM: The Dark Ages Opening Cinematic - Slayer activated, Bloodshed begins

Jak Connor | Gaming | May 9, 2025 9:59 AM CDT

Bethesda and id Software have dropped the embargo for the highly anticipated DOOM: The Dark Ages, the prequel to DOOM (2016), which puts players back into the blood-soaked hands of the Slayer, but something is different.

DOOM: The Dark Ages Opening Cinematic - Slayer activated, Bloodshed begins

Above is the game's opening cinematic, which shows many of the scenes we have seen in the few trailers id Software and Bethesda have published leading up to the game's release. From the cinematic, we get some much-needed context about where the battle we saw in the trailers, who is involved, and what the demons are after.

The cinematic doesn't spoil much of the story at all, and more so, sets up the story for what players are about to experience. So, I wouldn't consider this a spoiler but a teaser. However, for those wishing to avoid spoilers entirely, stop reading now.

DOOM: The Dark Ages captured in 4K with 20 blood-soaked screenshots

Jak Connor | Gaming | May 9, 2025 9:40 AM CDT

The embargo for DOOM: The Dark Ages has officially lifted, giving us a look at the new blood-soaked DOOM game by Bethesda and id Software. Below are a selection of 4K screenshots to show off its glory.

DOOM: The Dark Ages captured in 4K with 20 blood-soaked screenshots

I was lucky enough to snag an early copy of DOOM: The Dark Ages and have been diving into the action for the past couple of days. What can I say about it? Well, it's exactly what you would expect if you are a DOOM fan. It's adrenaline-pumping, fast-paced, glorious, graphically impressive, and, of course, an absolute slaughter. I haven't come across a game that makes you feel more like a badass than DOOM, as both the good guys and the bad guys (demons) fear the Slayer - and for good reason.

Taking control of an unstoppable force such as the Slayer and being pitted against the armies of Hell as the only savior is an undeniably enticing premise. It's you versus them. Equipped with a variety of weapons, and this time around, a shield that works like Thor's hammer, which eventually gets upgraded with blades, players will feel like a force to be reckoned with. DOOM: The Dark Ages releases on PS5, Xbox, and PC on May 15. Check out some of the action below in the screenshots, and if you are interested in some Mech gameplay or the opening cinematic, they are both linked below.

Mafia: The Old Country PC requirements revealed, recommends 32GB of RAM and RTX 3080 Ti GPU

Mafia: The Old Country PC requirements revealed, recommends 32GB of RAM and RTX 3080 Ti GPU

Check out the specs your gaming PC will need below, as shared via the game's Steam page (hat tip to Wccftech). Overall, it's not too demanding, except for recommending that you have 32GB of system RAM.

Of course, recommending 32GB of RAM is becoming more commonplace in PC gaming these days, and the minimum spec still lets you get away with 16GB. (Which really is the bare minimum for contemporary gaming - when it comes to a new rig, everyone should be shooting for 32GB in terms of future-proofing at this point).

Razer Clio is a new THX Spatial Audio powered headset for your gaming chair

Kosta Andreadis | Audio | May 9, 2025 1:26 AM CDT

In PC gaming, headsets have become the primary audio interface for experiencing high-fidelity and immersive sound. The new Razer Clio is a unique, innovative device that aims to deliver 'headset-like immersive audio' without actually being a headset or something you put on or in your ears.

Razer Clio is a new THX Spatial Audio powered headset for your gaming chair

It's a gaming chair accessory that doubles as a headset. The Razer Clio's integrated near-field speakers (two 43mm high-fidelity drivers) send PC gaming sound waves directly to your ear. It also intuitively acts as surround or rear speakers to an existing front speaker or soundbar setup via Razer's Synapse 4 app for up to full 5.1 audio.

Naturally, the Razer Clio is a wireless device (with a battery life of up to 14 hours) that blends the comfort of a head cushion with immersive sound. It supports low-latency wireless audio over Razer HyperSpeed Wireless and is also compatible with Android and iOS devices over Bluetooth.

Razer Joro and Razer Basilisk Mobile is a new compact keyboard and mouse combo

Kosta Andreadis | Peripherals | May 9, 2025 12:57 AM CDT

The new Razer Joro and Razer Basilisk Mobile keyboard and mouse combo are lightweight, portable gaming peripherals designed for gamers on the go. The new Razer Basilisk Mobile is a lightweight 76-gram wireless gaming mouse with a look and feel inspired by Razer's popular Basilisk line of mice. The compact and ergonomic mouse offers up to 105 hours of battery life with tri-mode connectivity - Razer HyperSpeed Wireless, Bluetooth, and wired over USB.

Razer Joro and Razer Basilisk Mobile is a new compact keyboard and mouse combo

Underneath the hood, it's powered by the robust Razer Focus X 18K Optical Sensor, which offers 99.4% resolution accuracy. It also retains one of the best productivity features of Razer's recent Basilisk mice - Razer HyperScroll Technology. The scroll wheel provides tactile and free-spin modes alongside four-way tilt functionality. So even though you're looking at a more compact mouse for travel, Razer still promises gaming-grade performance.

The Razer Joro wireless keyboard is more of a departure. At first glance, it looks like a portable laptop keyboard, as if someone detached it from one of the latest Razer Blade laptops. The Razer Joro is described as an "ultra-low-profile" keyboard that maintains an ergonomic hand position, with a lightweight 374-gram build and thin 16.5mm profile.

You can now stream the complete Mafia series over the cloud with GeForce NOW

Kosta Andreadis | Gaming | May 8, 2025 11:31 PM CDT

Mafia, Mafia: Definitive Edition, Mafia II, and Mafia III are now all playable on GeForce NOW, NVIDIA's streaming service, where you can game on a cloud-based GeForce RTX 4080. This announcement arrives alongside the latest gameplay trailer for Mafia: The Old Country, which is set to launch on April 8, 2025, on PC (Steam). As part of the big mafioso library of games coming to GeForce NOW, Mafia: The Old Country is set to arrive on the service on day one.

You can now stream the complete Mafia series over the cloud with GeForce NOW

This is a cool addition because it includes over two decades of games in a long-running series, with the original Mafia dating back to 2002. To put that into context, this is the year when Microsoft pushed its brand-new Windows XP operating system while most of us were still running Windows 98. It's also the year of the GeForce 4 series of graphics cards. For its time, the original Mafia was considered one of the most visually impressive games ever made, thanks to its digital recreation of a bustling fictional New York-inspired Empire Bay set in the 1930s.

Mafia: Definitive Edition, which was released in 2020, is an impressive, built-from-the-ground-up faithful remake of the original Mafia, so it's great to see both versions of the game supported on GeForce NOW.

Mafia: The Old Country is a 'focused, linear experience' and not open-world game like GTA 6

Kosta Andreadis | Gaming | May 8, 2025 11:02 PM CDT

Although Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed to May 26, 2026, the next entry in publisher 2K's other organized crime series is set to launch on August 8, 2025. Alongside the release date announcement for Mafia: The Old Country, which is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, a new gameplay trailer showcases its "focused, linear" cinematic action.

Mafia: The Old Country is a 'focused, linear experience' and not open-world game like GTA 6

The latest entry in the popular and long-running Mafia series is set in 1900s Sicily. Players take on the role of Enzo Favara as he "works his way up Don Torrisi's crime family." The trailer showcases several cinematic and gameplay elements snippets, including sections where Enzo is on horseback, driving a car, exploring ruins, and fighting through a lavish estate.

Although confirmation that the game will be linear might be a little confusing, even though Mafia has traditionally been compared to Rockstar's GTA series, most entries have been linear experiences set in open environments with minimal side activities. The vast locales are merely backdrops for the action.
