A great graphical comparison has been made between the classic stages on Super Smash Bros. Melee and the upcoming stages in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

GameXplain has done everyone a huge favor by spending the time of going back through all of the upcoming reworked stages in Super Smash Bros. Melee and then giving a side-by-side comparison to the returning stages in the upcoming Smash for Nintendo Switch.
