Ever since Silent Hills was cancelled by Konami, the entire industry has been looking forward to the next collaboration between MGS creator Hideo Kojima and beloved director Guillermo Del Toro. Now it looks like we might get a few clues, as the dynamic duo is meeting up to host a keynote session at DICE Summit 2016.
The session is called "A Conversation with Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro", and will be centered around the duo's "creative vision and the driving forces behind their artistic pursuits". The keynote will be held on Thursday afternoon, and will also be moderated by Geoff Keighley, so we may see a few zinger questions and curveballs in there about future games and projects.
The renowned creators have remained friends well after Silent Hills' cancellation, and have expressed interest in another collaborative effort.
Kojima has been pretty busy over the past few weeks. After signing his newly resurrected Kojima Productions studio up with Sony for a PS4 exclusive game, the Japanese console maker wasted no time showing Kojima the lay of the land.
PS4 architect Mark Cerny took the beloved dev on a 10-day high-tech tour of Sony's best specialized hardware. During that tour Kojima played a top-secret PlayStation VR game at Sony's London studio, and visited Guerrilla Games to check out Horizon: Zero Dawn.
Hopefully, the DICE keynote will have a Q&A session and someone asks the team about their plans for the future. It'd be great to get a tease of a new game or project, and Kojima has expressed interest in working on movies in the past.
The DICE Summit will be held from Feb. 16 - 18, and we'll be sure to keep you updated if we hear any juicy tidbits from the show.
