TL;DR: Star Wars Genesis is a comprehensive total-conversion modlist for Starfield, transforming it into an immersive Star Wars RPG with force powers, iconic factions, new locations like Mos Eisley and Coruscant, unique quests, and vehicles. It requires the Steam version and offers a rich, expansive galaxy experience beyond vanilla Starfield.

Star Wars Genesis is an ambitious list of mods that transforms Starfield into a fully-fledged Star Wars RPG, complete with force powers, iconic Imperial and Rebel outfits, weapons, ships, and entire areas like Mos Eisley and Coruscant.

Thanks to Kotaku, I've recently stumbled upon what could be the best Starfield mods that I've ever seen. To be more specific, it's a list of mods and not a singular one. The project is called Star Wars Genesis, and it's a series of total-conversion mods that transforms nearly all aspects of Starfield into Lucasfilm's legendary franchise, complete with new items, UI overhauls, Jedi and Sith force abilities, and even a ton of new vehicles and bosses like AT-STs and Star Destroyers (I even spotted a Sandcrawler, too).

Unfortunately, Genesis doesn't include lightsabers. Why? The melee combat just isn't up to snuff. "I will add lightsabers when they are ready with proper animations, deflection, and dismemberment," mod author DeityVengy says.

Another drawback: Genesis only works with the premium version of Starfield. The modlist isn't supported on the Game Pass or Windows version of Starfield--it only supports Steam.

"This modlist doesn't even work on other versions of Starfield that are on PC such as the Microsoft Store version or Game Pass version. It is a Steam only modlist because Steam is the only platform that gives you full access to modify the game."

The mods also won't work on Xbox, which is to be expected because that platform doesn't allow mods with script extenders.

You can download Genesis now, but be sure to follow the instructions to a tee--the modlist uses Wabbajack to auto-install things, but you'll still need to carefully go through the process in order to get Genesis to work.

Here's an official description of Genesis from the mod creator:

Star Wars Genesis is a free, fan-made total conversion project for Starfield, developed and continuously expanded by me, DeityVengy. It is fully playable via the Wabbajack auto-installer and receives regular updates and expansions.

While technically a modlist, calling it that feels like an understatement. This is not your typical modlist that combines every mod out there into a jumbled mess and calls it a day. Countless mods and features within this modlist such as Coruscant, the Yuuzhan Vong Main Story, HUD, props, music, etc are made by me to work alongside other Star Wars mods made by other authors. Many of its features, such as new enemy factions, bosses, unique locations, and original quest content, are exclusive to Genesis and cannot be found anywhere else.

Star Wars Genesis is developed with a gameplay-first philosophy. The goal is an immersive RPG with a unique story and expansive endgame, rather than a re-skin of Starfield with the same flaws. It strives to improve the base game by implementing bug fixes, new and enhanced gameplay features, upgraded visuals, and more. Vanilla Starfield is best described as a bland exploration game with simply nothing out there for you to explore. Thousands of planets filled with the same repetitive locations, biomes, and enemies. Genesis addresses that by adding new, unique experiences across the galaxy.

You can spend days exploring Tatooine as a drifter, building an outpost, hunting Tusken Raiders, and trading with Jawas in Mos Eisley. You can journey to Coruscant and navigate its vast underworld and black market while evading Imperial patrols, or take a different path and serve the Empire instead.

On Mandalore, you may uncover hidden locations offering rare crafting recipes that require contraband sourced from across the Galaxy, or stumble upon a forgotten Clone Wars battlefield and loot authentic Clone Trooper armor. You're free to wander the Galaxy and take on both the Empire and the Rebellion, while contending with criminal syndicates like the Pykes, Hutt Cartel, Swoop Gangs, and more. The possibilities are endless and expanding with every update.

Star Wars Genesis is an experience unlike anything else. It is the ultimate Star Wars RPG, set in a harsh and unforgiving Galaxy not yet seen in modern Star Wars media. Heavily inspired by Star Wars Galaxies, Knights of the Old Republic, and Legends.
