TL;DR: Aspyr's Star Wars: Grand Collection offers nine classic titles on Switch and six on PlayStation, featuring games from 1999 to 2008. Priced at $69.99 (Switch) and $44.99 for PS Plus, the bundle appeals to fans seeking nostalgia but may lack value compared to cheaper PC alternatives.

In celebration of May the Fourth, Aspyr has released its classics bundle, Star Wars: Grand Collection. Switch players can play through nine classic Star Wars titles, while PlayStation users can re-experience six classics on modern hardware.

The titles span from 1999, with Star Wars: Episode I Racer, to 2008, when Star Wars: The Force Unleashed was released. The team from Aspyr Media has been working to port these titles to the PS4, PS5, and Switch since 2019, and the latest bundle aims to get the entirety of its works into the hands of gamers.

There's a total of nine games to experience on the Switch, including:

  • Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (2020)
  • Star Wars: Episode I Racer (2020)
  • Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (2020)
  • Star Wars: Republic Commando (2021)
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (2021)
  • Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (2022)
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (2022)
  • Star Wars: Bounty Hunter (2024)
  • Star Wars: Episode I Jedi Power Battles (2025)

PlayStation players can jump into six classic games. However, three heavy hitters - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - are notably absent from the PS lineup.

  • Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (2020)
  • Star Wars: Episode I Racer (2020)
  • Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (2020)
  • Star Wars: Republic Commando (2021)
  • Star Wars: Bounty Hunter (2024)
  • Star Wars: Episode I Jedi Power Battles (2025)

Aspyr's Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection (2024) is also notably absent from both platforms.

Star Wars: Grand Collection is currently on sale on both the Nintendo and PlayStation Stores, starting at $69.99 on the Switch store, and at $44.99 for PS Plus subscribers.

Outside of the portability of the Switch, the Grand Collection is a tough sell in terms of value. Comparable bundles containing many of the same games have been available on Steam and Humble Bundle for as little as $12, making the $69.99 Switch pricing - and even the discounted $44.99 on PlayStation for PS Plus subscribers - a steep ask in 2025. The package also lacks meaningful enhancements or restoration efforts, and with no inclusion of Aspyr's own Battlefront Classic Collection, feels incomplete.

It's PlayStation users, in particular, who draw the short straw. Players not only pay a higher per-game cost for the six-title library, but also miss out on the bundle's headlining titles: KOTOR, KOTOR II, and The Force Unleashed.

For the majority of players, the low pricing and system requirements, combined with enhancements like KOTOR 2's restored content mod, and Jedi Academy's Movie Duels, make the PC versions a more viable option.
