DICE guarantees Battlefield 6 will run at 60FPS minimum on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but that's only for the fidelity mode. The game can go even higher in performance mode...which isn't yet available on the Series S.

Battlefield 6 looks to be one of the most well-optimized games in recent memory. The PC spec requirements are very reasonable, and DICE is touting Battlefield 6 can hit some impressive numbers on consoles.
A Battlefield Labs participant reveals some metrics. The results show that BF6 will run at 60FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles in fidelity mode, and up to 90FPS in performance mode. The Xbox Series S, however, currently doesn't have a performance mode, likely due to the console's weaker specs. Battlefield 6 really shines on PS5 Pro, where it can hit 120FPS.

Redditor BSoD Gaming writes:
Console Fidelity mode targets 60 FPS, while performance mode targets 80 FPS+. PS5 Pro seems like it will be the best place to play. Consoles also support Mouse and Keyboard.
- Series S does not have a performance mode (Unsure if this will change, but this is what I know right now)
- PS5: Performance seemed good. I always used Performance mode. FPS measured 65-90 FPS (Measured with FPS overlay on LG G4)
- PS5 Pro: I played always in performance mode. FPS ranged from 90-120 FPS (Measured with FPS overlay on LG G4)
DICE is taking Battlefield 6's performance very seriously and wants to squeeze every last bit of power out of each system to ensure high-octane warfare.
In a recent interview with YouTuber Tech & Co, Battlefield 6 principal game designer Florian Le Bihan asserted that optimization was a major part of the game's development.
"Optimization has been one of the most important things for Battlefield. We want to make sure that it's not just a game that looks graphically beautiful, but also a game that runs on all configurations, whether it's on PC or Xbox or PS5.
"So we put a lot of effort into optimizing the game. We guarantee 60FPS on all experiences on consoles--more [frame rate] on PC, obviously--and even more [FPS] in performance mode which allows you to go even higher."
Battlefield 6 releases October 10, 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
