AVerMedia has recognized this among creators and debuted the DualCam PW313D at Computex 2026, a webcam with two independently adjustable cameras built into a single device. The idea is simple, yet extremely effective. Livestreamers or teachers who need multiple camera angles for their content no longer have to buy two separate cameras.
For example, a content creator who does Pokémon card pack openings ideally wants a top-down camera angle of the desk showing a close-up of their hands and the cards, plus a camera angle on them so viewers can see their reaction when a rare card is pulled. The same principle applies to teachers in a classroom, or educational content creators in general.

AVerMedia is currently selling the DualCam for $149.99, which puts it just $20 above Logitech's $129.99 Brio 500, which also has a desk-viewing feature, though it can't keep one camera on the user. At the same time, another is pointed at a desk.

Design
AVerMedia has built the DualCam entirely around the dual camera concept, which immediately separates it from existing webcams currently available. As for what you get in your hand, AVerMedia has built the two camera sensors into a cylindrical tube that enables both cameras to rotate. However, they have different degrees of rotation. For example, the right camera can rotate 90 degrees upward and 15 degrees downward, while the left camera can rotate 195 degrees backward and 75 degrees forward.

This difference is intentional, as the right camera features a 5MP CMOS sensor with a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944, while the left camera has a 2MP CMOS sensor and a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080. This means the right camera will likely be used as the camera angle on the user, while the left camera will be angled toward the secondary target. While I am a big fan of this asymmetrical design, as both cameras have different dedicated jobs, I would have liked to have seen an identical camera sensor in both cameras, as well as adjustability.
The DualCam features a ¼-inch tripod attachment that can be removed entirely so the DualCam can be placed on top of a monitor. Moving back to the DualCam's cameras, each of them has a physical blue LED light that appears when the cameras are active. Additionally, both cameras have slidable lens covers intended for privacy-conscious users.

Furthermore, AVerMedia has placed a microphone on each camera, which I would argue is a completely unnecessary addition given the poor quality of the microphones and the fact that if someone is looking into buying two cameras for a livestream or content creation, they likely already own a microphone or know they are always better off getting a dedicated microphone rather than using one built into a webcam.

On the rear of the DualCam is my main, and really only, big issue with the product. AVerMedia has decided to use a USB 2.0 connection, which has a maximum bandwidth of 480Mbps. Unfortunately, and even AVerMedia admits this within the DualCam documentation, certain combinations of resolutions shot in the YUY2 video format aren't possible due to the limited bandwidth on the USB 2.0 connection. An example of a combination not being possible is the maximum resolution of both cameras.

Unfortunately, both cameras are unable to record at their maximum resolution simultaneously, as there simply isn't enough room within the USB 2.0 cable to move that data. Yet, AVerMedia lists the YUY2 video format as supported. This is quite disappointing, especially for those creators, such as myself, who like to record video at their camera's maximum capabilities without concessions.

Software
The DualCam comes with the AVerMedia Streaming Center, which is software designed to enable a user to have direct control over both cameras. Users are able to make adjustments to each camera, such as brightness levels, rotation, mirroring, zoom, focus, and enabling or disabling automatic focus hunting. Additionally, the Streaming Center includes a Virtual Camera function, which enables the DualCam to show up as a single webcam source within other applications.

Streaming Center also supports adding multiple scenes, changing canvas resolution, and the frame rate. Furthermore, users are able to add new windows, images, and text, while also having support for multiple streaming formats such as vertical 9:16 streaming and 21:9 recording support.

Unfortunately, if you have used Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), which the majority of livestreamers/content creators use to record/stream, AVerMedia's Streaming Center just feels like a bare-bones version of OBS. It also feels like quite an unfinished product, as there were several times throughout testing the video capturing capabilities that the program just crashed.



Performance
On paper, 1080p at 30FPS for the primary camera isn't particularly impressive in 2026. There are plenty of single-camera webcams that offer 4K recording, 1080p at 60 FPS, larger sensors, or more sophisticated image processing.
That becomes less important once the DualCam is used as intended. The primary camera only needs to provide a clear view of the presenter at its maximum resolution, while the additional camera is available for the content being demonstrated, and vice versa depending on the content being created.

One area that initially raised questions was USB bandwidth. Both cameras ultimately share the DualCam's USB 2.0 connection, which has a theoretical ceiling of 480Mbps. AVerMedia itself recommends adjusting resolution when using both cameras simultaneously to achieve the best frame rate and viewing experience.

However, my testing in OBS produced a much better result than AVerMedia's recommendations, as I configured both cameras to use the video format MJPEG, which enabled me to run the left camera at its maximum 1920 x 1080 resolution while the right camera ran at its maximum 2592 x 1944 resolution. Both devices were set to 30 FPS mode in OBS at the same time. This is possible because MJPEG compresses each individual frame before it is transferred over USB, drastically reducing bandwidth requirements compared with an uncompressed format such as YUY2.

While everything worked as intended and the end video results were passable, I can't help but think the 30FPS limitation is what is holding back the DualCam. 30FPS is fine for video calls, product presentations, and most educational work. But if you are a livestreamer or a content creator, 60FPS is recommended to provide viewers with an extremely smooth experience.
What I would like to see is an upgraded version of the DualCam; perhaps it could be called the DualCam 4K? This device would have 2x 4K cameras that are both rotatable to the same degree and have the ability to physically change the orientation of one of the camera barrels to portrait. The idea here would be that, by turning one of the cameras into portrait, a user will be able to capture video in 9:16 without having to zoom in a 16:9 camera angle, which causes pixels to be cut off on either side of the frame.
This feature would be particularly useful for livestreamers who are streaming 16:9 content to YouTube and Twitch, but also want to stream 9:16 content to TikTok or Instagram Reels. The same principle applies to creators who wish to record a YouTube video in 16:9 and also a vertical piece of content.
Final Thoughts
So, should you buy the AVerMedia DualCam PW313D? For the $149 price tag, you are able to get a nice 4K webcam that will provide a much sharper image than the DualCam. However, the DualCam has something those 4K cameras don't: two cameras built into a single device.

AVerMedia made a compromise by including two cameras in the same device, as image quality or FPS isn't the priority here; it's the ability to have one camera pointed directly at the presenter while the second is focused on the demonstration.
The DualCam is something that can't really be compared to any competition, as there isn't anything else like it currently available on the market, and for some content creators, teachers, or livestreamers, this will be an instant purchase as it's exactly what they have been looking for. But for others, they likely won't blink an eye at it. It's a very niche product.
Ultimately, the DualCam sacrifices cutting-edge webcam specifications in favor of versatility, which for some users will be what earns it a place in the content creation setup. Its dual-camera design removes the need for a two-camera setup, but whether it's worth the $149.99 is up to you and your content creation needs.
