The Bottom Line

Adding to our recent review of Lexar's UHS-II solutions, we have in house today a high-capacity Class 10 and UHS-I product. It follows the color scheme this product falls under (the bronze category) and rounds out Lexar's portfolio of SD solutions.
The Professional lineup from Lexar is probably one of the most well-known as far as SD solutions are concerned. We have seen many solutions come through from this lineup and today we round out our latest tour with the 512GB 633x memory card. This solution carries both Class 10 and UHS-I U3 certifications that translate into 95 MB/s read and 45 MB/s write.
Additional capacities are available, and those include everything from 16GB through 256GB. Each is backed by Lexar's lifetime warranty and include Image Rescue software should you ever need to recover lost photos.
The MSRP of the 512GB Lexar Professional 633x comes in at $314.99 with a lifetime warranty.

Packaging is what you will find on retail shelves. Capacity is listed at the top right while there is a bit of marketing at the bottom with the 4K logo and performance indicator.

On the back, we found a bit more information in bullet points including the lifetime warranty details.

A quick look at the card with its capacity and performance clearly listed and its bronze coloring noted.

The back of the drive carries the nine pin SD design and regulatory information.

From the factory, the Lexar was formatted in the exFAT filesystem. This has quickly become the standard for any drive over 32GB. Useable capacity is 476GB.

Diving right into testing, we go with Flash Bench and in read operation have a drive that can hold its 95 MB/s performance from 512K through 16M easily. With write performance, we find that same level of stamina at 60 MB/s.

With our secondary benchmark, I chose to run through CDM, as it's a staple in performance testing. With that, I could reach 96.6 MB/s read and 61 MB/s write.
I've been playing with this last batch of SD cards from Lexar over the last month or so and have been pleasantly surprised with how durable they are. My brother took the 256GB from the previous review and started running it in his hunting cameras, and came back wanting another. I don't have too many devices that take advantage of the larger SD format, but this solution has been a solid Time Machine backup device that I can remove and store away.
As far as performance goes, UHS-I is probably what you are looking for if you want sequential speed. The Lexar 633x was able to produce 95 MB/s read consistently in my testing while write performance wasn't far behind at 60 MB/s.
Adding to the package, Lexar includes Image Rescue software, like RescuePro that SanDisk uses, and it's a great addition should anyone ever need it. As the proverbial cherry on top, Lexar is one of only a few to offer a lifetime warranty on their memory solutions.
