As storage density increases by the day, we tend to benefit from technology in many ways. As we have seen lately, microSD cards are quickly getting higher capacity options and with that Pico flash drives, like the SanDisk Ultra Fit we have here today have reached 128GB in capacity.

Like the Samsung FIT we looked at last month, SanDisk too has released a Pico flash drive capable of 130 MB/s transfers. Ironically, the SanDisk drive is also carrying the Fit moniker along with coming in 16 to 128GB capacities. Of course, being a Pico drive, the Ultra Fit is no bigger than a thumbnail and features USB 3.0 connectivity. Compatibility of the Ultra Fit extends to modern Windows operating systems, Mac OS X 10.6+.

MSRP of the SanDisk Ultra Fit in the 128GB capacity is set at $79.99, and the drive comes with five-year warranty.

The end of the drive is covered by a black plastic that carries the SanDisk logo. This is also textured to help with removing this drive from USB ports.

Pulling up our Price/Performance chart, the SanDisk Ultra Fit came in at 81.6% about 2% quicker than the FIT solution from Samsung.

When it comes to Pico flash drive solutions, it is quite clear there is a big push to bring them to market. The two biggest NAND flash producers now have a solution on the market aptly carrying the same name. It is also quite clear that storage density with flash drives is one the rise with SanDisk now launching this 128GB solution. The build quality of the Ultra Fit certainly meets my expectations for a product from SanDisk, and even more there is a bit of an aesthetic appeal with this drive as well.

The performance of the drive surprisingly didn't make it the quickest Pico drive we have tested, as that honor still resides with the Strontium Nano. With that said, the SanDisk Ultra Fit isn't slow by any means in our Windows testing we reached 147 MB/s read while OS X produced 137 MB/s read both over marketing performance.

Overall, the Ultra Fit is a solid drive with ample performance that would be perfect for notebook or MacBook users in the market for capacity at 128GB. MSRP of the SanDisk Ultra Fit in the 128GB capacity is set at $79.99, and the drive comes with five-year warranty.

Growing up in a small farm town, tech wasn't around, unless it was in a tractor. At an early age, Tyler's parents brought home their first PC. Tyler was hooked and learned what it meant to format a HDD, spending many nights reinstalling Windows 95. Tyler's love and enthusiast nature always kept his PC nearby.
