AMD's RX 9060 XT GPU rumored to have 8GB and 16GB flavors, just like NVIDIA's RTX 5060 Ti
It's almost launch day for AMD's RX 9070 models, and you know what that means - yes, the RX 9060 rumors must kick off in earnest, which is just what's happened with a purported info drop on the VRAM configuration of the lower-tier RDNA 4 GPUs.
This is actually about the RX 9060 XT and comes courtesy of a filing with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) made by Acer, as flagged up by regular leaker Harukaze5719 on X.
Acer has registered Predator BiFrost models of RX 9060 XT graphics cards which have both 8GB and 16GB of VRAM, mirroring what NVIDIA is supposedly doing with its rival RTX 5060 Ti. (Although NVIDIA, to be fair, would just be continuing the VRAM loadouts it ran with in its previous RTX 4060 Ti models, of course).
Want an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Founders Edition GPU on launch day? Rumor has it you've got zero chance
If you were hoping to bag yourself a Founders Edition of the RTX 5070 direct from NVIDIA on launch day tomorrow, it seems that what was already obviously a long-shot has turned into, well, a non-existent-shot.
As VideoCardz reports, Andreas Schilling, who is editor at German tech site Hardwareluxx, shared on X that NVIDIA has just informed them that the RTX 5070 Founders Edition won't be on sale until later in March. Add your own seasoning appropriately.
Of course, first of all, NVIDIA said that its RTX 5070 GPU would arrive in February (alongside the RTX 5070 Ti, which did turn up last month, as promised). Then we had news of the slight delay to March 5.
NVIDIA RTX 5070 GPU stock rumors continue to get even bleaker, with AMD set to capitalize
More rumors are being piped through insisting that AMD's RX 9070 GPUs are going to launch with a lot more stock than NVIDIA has ready for the RTX 5070, as these two graphics cards prepare to face off when they hit the shelves later this week.
A fresh piece of speculation was highlighted by Hardware Canucks, a Canadian tech site, as you can see in the above post on X.
The claim is that Hardware Canucks spoke to a manager at a retailer who said they have more RX 9070 XT graphics cards than the entirety of all the NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs they've had in stock so far this year.
CPU-Z Validator can now check your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series GPU for missing ROPs
If you want to easy find out if your new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series GPU is missing any ROPs, CPU-Z Validator will now test your system and warn you if you've got missing ROPs.
CPU-Z can already provide basic information on your graphics card, but it doesn't have the same feature set as GPU-Z, which is dedicated to GPUs. CPU-Z covers multiple components: CPU, RAM, motherboard, and GPU specs but in a new update to the Validator, it will warn users if they've got an affected RTX 50 series GPU with missing ROPs that reduce performance (and need to be sent away to be replaced to the AIB manufacturer, more on that in the stories below).
CPU-Z Validator will warn users "This GPU is supposed to have X ROPs" which would point to your RTX 5090, RTX 5080, or RTX 5070 Ti with missing ROPs.
Retailer claims it has no stock of NVIDIA RTX 5070 GPU as rumors of dire supply keep piling up
File this one under 'o' for ominous, but there's been yet more chatter that NVIDIA's RTX 5070 GPU is going to be a bit of a no-show stock-wise on its launch day - this time from a big Swedish retailer.
As a quick refresher, the RTX 5070 is the next GPU due to emerge from the Blackwell stable (and the only remaining officially announced graphics card). It's set to go on sale March 5, in just two days, although the GPU was delayed from an original release timeframe of February (a date wasn't specified by NVIDIA, just the month).
Rumors have indicated for some time that RTX 5070 stock could end up very thin on the ground - and that slight delay would seem to back up this idea - but now VideoCardz spotted a message from said major retailer in Sweden stating that essentially it hasn't got any of these GPUs at all yet.
EK's first waterblock for NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition is here, costs $342
EK has just unveiled its first waterblock for NVIDIA's new in-house GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition, with the introduction of the new Quantum Vector³ FE RTX™ 5090 waterblock.
The new EK Quantum Vector³ FE RTX™ 5090 waterblock has been designed to specifically handle the three-part PCB design of the RTX 5090 Founders Edition: GPU/VRM/Power, PCIe interface, and display connectors. It's also compatible with EK's Matrix7 RGB system, with the backplate serving as a structural element for the RTX 5090 PCB parts, where you can connect daughterboards and it also serves as a passive c ooler.
We don't have any thermal performance results from EK just yet, but we do know that it will retail for 329 euros, which works out to around $342 USD or so. If you are splashing down the cash for NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition and wanted what should be one of the best water blocks made for the RTX 5090 FE specifically, then you are already clicking the 'buy now' button.
PowerColor teases Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs with new Red Devil, Hellhound, and Reaper cards
PowerColor has officially unveiled its new custom Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 graphics cards in its RDNA 4-powered Red Devil, Hellhound, and Reaper series cards.
The new Red Devil Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards are the flagship RDNA 4 cards from the company, with factory overclocking for maximum performance. PowerColor's new Red Devil series has high-end VRMs, Honeywell PTM7950 thermal pads, and a premium cooling solution with an optimal heat pipe arrangement across its 12-layer PCB.
PowerColor is using a multi-facted design called Hellstone on its new Red Devil RX 9070 series GPUs, with the new RDNA 4-powered cards feature Keystone: PowerColor's new software control hub. Better yet, PowerColor has a Limited Red Devil Edition for both the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards that includes the Red Devil Metal Keycap.
AMD Radeon RX 9070 series supply leak: 3-10x more stock of RDNA 4 than the RTX 5080
AMD has just announced its new Radeon RX 9070 series "RDNA 4" graphics cards, and while we know the horrors of trying to find one of NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 50 series "Blackwell" GPUs... it seems RDNA 4 will have significantly higher stock levels.
In a new video posted by leaker Moore's Law is Dead, we're hearing that "supply is going to be significantly higher for RDNA 4 than it is what from what we've seen with Blackwell expect 3-10x the shipments of RDNA 4 cards compared to something like an RTX 5080"
"Now, to be clear about that though: it's more or less a standard launch maybe slightly above average overall I would say it's just that when I say 3 -10x more cards than the 5080 at launch... Blackwell was just that low volume of a launch it was basically entirely fake. I would roughly summarize the quantity for the 9070 series actually as around what the 7800 XT at launch which was a lot a lot of people were able to get one on launch day for an hour or so online".
Radeon RX 9070 XT will cost $599, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti performance for $150 less
AMD has finally announced the pricing for its new RDNA 4 GPUs - the Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT. We posted many stories on RDNA 4 earlier today, which you can read below, but during our pre-brief with AMD, the company wasn't quite ready to confirm pricing. Based on the number of leaks from the event, we can understand why.
AMD confirmed that the new flagship Radeon RX 9070 XT will launch for $599 USD during its RDNA 4 live stream event that just wrapped up (that you can watch above). AMD also confirmed that 4K performance will be roughly 2% slower than the $749 GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. 2% means performance, on average, should be on par, with AMD's new Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU costing 20% less than NVIDIA's card.
AMD notes that partner OC models, pushing the power draw from 304W to 340W, will turn that into a 2% lead over the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. However, as the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti also has OC models, we assume this is compared to the reference MSRP spec. Confusingly, the baseline Radeon RX 9070 will launch for $549 USD, 8% lower than the Radeon RX 9070 XT's price. However, based on AMD's benchmark data, the Radeon RX 9070 will be 20% slower than the Radeon RX 9070 XT - which does bring its value into question. Why not spend a few more dollars and get a noticeably better GPU.
RDNA 4 versus RDNA 3 - all the significant improvements as outlined by AMD
RDNA 4 is the latest gaming GPU architecture, powering the new Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT. It paves the way for Neural Rendering to become significant for gaming in the coming years.
RDNA 4 doubles the AI performance compared to RDNA 3, with 2nd Generation AI Accelerators supporting FP8, which powers AMD's new custom Super Resolution model for FSR 4. Unlike previous versions of FSR, FSR 4 is exclusive to RDNA 4 as it leverages the latest AI hardware to deliver a massive improvement to image quality when compared to the non-AI FSR 3.1 - a big step to leveling the playing field with NVIDIA DLSS.
The other big update arrives with RDNA 4's 3rd Generation Raytracing Accelerators, which doubles the ray-tracing throughput per Compute Unit with dual ray intersection calculations and more optimizations like compressing BVH sizes and new technology like 'Oriented Bounding Boxes' that improves performance at the hardware level.
AMD says FSR 4's new 'Performance' mode offers 'better than native' image quality in 4K
AMD delayed the RDNA 4 reveal and launch to ensure that the software side of the equation was where it needed to be. Raw performance and efficiency gains and other hardware improvements are always great. However, if the software support is lacking - not just on the driver front - then the experience can feel incomplete. This was an issue with RDNA 3, where AMD teased Frame Generation capabilities and other FSR improvements without them being ready on day one.
All of that is changing on March 6, when the company launches its new Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT GPUs in collaboration with partners such as ASRock, ASUS, GIGABYTE, Sapphire, PowerColor, and more. Early adopters will enjoy the benefits of the new AI-powered FSR 4 in 30+ games on day one, with over 75 more titles adding support throughout 2025.
During an RDNA 4 pre-brief, AMD discussed all of FSR 4's advancements, from the new model being trained on cutting-edge AMD Instinct hardware to how its hybrid FP8 model was explicitly designed to take a lower-resolution image and recreate that at a much higher resolution with image clarity on par with native rendering.
AMD's FSR 4 is exclusive to RDNA 4, 30+ games at launch, 75+ more coming in 2025
With FSR 4, AMD's answer to NVIDIA DLSS, the company embraces AI and machine learning to enhance image quality and performance. It builds on the upgradable API of FSR 3.1, so like DLSS 4, there will be a driver-level option to enable FSR 4 in games that feature FSR 3.1 via a simple .dll file swap. Exclusive to RDNA 4 and the new Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT, launching on March 6, 2025, FSR 4 will be available in over 30 games on day one.
AMD notes that games will also feature native support for FSR 4 on day one, with over 75 more games set to adopt the new AI-powered Super Resolution upscaling in 2025. Compared to DLSS, this still leaves a big gap between the number of games you can enable NVIDIA's new DLSS 4 in and those with native or driver-level FSR 4 support. The good news is that the upgradable nature of FSR 4 means that updates can be applied to all games with existing support.
However, games with FSR 2 or FSR 3 will not be compatible with the driver-level FSR 4 override, as only FSR 3.1 has this capability.
AMD's official benchmarks for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 across 30+ games
The new flagship Radeon RX 9070 XT, the company's GeForce RTX 5070 Ti competitor, is 51% faster than the Radeon RX 6900 XT and 26% faster than the GeForce RTX 3090 for 4K gaming. Being 26% faster than the GeForce RTX 3090 for 4K gaming would put its performance on par with the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, so pricing will be a key factor in determining its overall value.
The new AMD Radeon RX 9070, the company's GeForce RTX 5070 competitor, is 38% faster than the Radeon RX 6800 XT and 26% faster than the GeForce RTX 3080 for 4K gaming. These figures come directly from AMD and represent averages captured across 30+ games. Based on this data, the assumption is that the baseline AMD Radeon RX 9070 will be faster than NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 5070.
Yes, AMD has finally lifted the lid on all things RDNA 4, providing a deep dive into the architecture that powers the new Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT GPUs while offering a detailed look at performance. AMD states that these GPUs make enthusiast-class 4K gaming more accessible. RDNA 4 is also about raising the bar for Radeon ray-tracing performance and improving AI performance for AI-enhanced gaming technologies and the new FSR 4.
Here's how to tune into AMD's next-gen Radeon RX 9070 'RDNA 4' GPU unveiling event
AMD is just hours away from its big reveal of both the RDNA 4 architecture and its new Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs, and you can watch it all from home in the YouTube video below:
The company will be hosting its "All You Need for Gaming" showcase where we'll learn everything we need to know about the new Radeon RX 9070 series "RDNA 4" graphics cards, as well as our big introduction to FSR 4 upscaling. We should expect the Radeon RX 9070 series with the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, as well as the Radeon RX 9060 series split into the Radeon RX 9060 XT and RX 9060.
AMD's new Navi 48 GPU will be used for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, while the Navi 44 GPU will be used for the Radeon RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 graphics cards. The new Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 will battle the GeForce RTX 5070 series, while the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 will fight the RTX 5060 series GPUs.
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT tested in Furmark: RTX 4080 perf, while RDNA 4 GPU runs at a cool 55C
AMD is on the eve of unveiling its next-generation Radeon RX 9070 series "RDNA 4" graphics cards, with early tests in FurMark revealing performance levels of around the RTX 4080 while the Navi 48 XTX GPU inside runs at just 55C under load.
In a new post on the AnandTech forums by user "gaav87" with the Radeon RX 9070 XT installed and FurMark running in the background, the custom GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING OC 16G graphics card used to also run Geekbench, resulting in a score of 20703 points (345FPS).
Comparing the 20703 points from the Radeon RX 9070 XT to the closest GeForce RTX series GPU points to the GeForce RTX 4080 with 20702 points (344FPS). The Radeon RX 9070 XT was running drivers from the Linux Mesa 25.0 stack, while the RTX 4080 was running Windows drivers.

GALAX's new GeForce RTX 5090 HOF OC Lab Edition graphics card has smiled for the camera, one of the most ridiculously super-enthusiast graphics cards ever made.
The company announced its custom GeForce RTX 5080 HOF OC Lab Edition graphics card earlier this year, but now we have some fresh details on what GALAX has been cooking behind the scenes. GALAX's new GeForce RTX 5090 HOF OC Lab Edition graphics card has appeared on the Chiphell forums, with a picture of the naked PCB posted... and boy, does it look good.
Looking up close, the new RTX 5090 HOF OC Lab Edition graphics card has a total of 38 power stages: a 26 power stage design surrounding the GPU, 10 power phases around the GDDR7 memory chips, and 2 power phases near the power connector (with optional room for 2 more).
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 reviews go live on March 4, the day before Radeon RX 9070 reviews
NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 5070 will have reviews go live on March 4, with retail availability on March 5... right in the middle of AMD's new Radeon RX 9070 series reviews and launch.
The review embargo for NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 5070 is set for March 4 according to VideoCardz, with retail availability and non-MSRP reviews on March 5, with AMD to unveil its new Radeon RX 9070 series on February 28, with reviews on March 5 and a retail release on March 6.
VideoCardz goes as far as saying there are not one but two review embargoes for the GeForce RTX 5070: review embargo is set for March 4, which has the cheapest $549 MSRP. For non-MSRP reviews of the RTX 5070, that's 24 hours later on March 5. This is the same playbook that NVIDIA did for both the GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti graphics cards.
NVIDIA's fixed black screen crashes with RTX 5000 GPUs, but some cards will need a BIOS update
Those who've been pulling out their hair over black screen crashes with NVIDIA's new Blackwell GPUs can breathe a sigh of relief - the fix is imminent, or indeed has actually already arrived for some.
VideoCardz noticed that the owner of an RTX 5090 (MSI Gaming Trio) suffering at the hands of black screen aggro posted in the NVIDIA subreddit to advise others that a BIOS update had been provided by MSI packing the fix.
So, the solution requires patching the BIOS after all, you may be thinking? As NVIDIA wasn't sure about that previously, but it turns out that actually, you may - or may not - need a BIOS update.
Rumored final specs of RX 9070 XT and 9070 GPUs revealed including flagship hitting 48.7 TFlops
AMD's RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards have had their purported full specs spilled, with the numbers lining up pretty much exactly as the rumor mill had already suggested.
Of course, we must still take the aired specifications provided by VideoCardz with a side serving of seasoning, but they are as follows, starting with the higher-end GPU.
The RX 9070 XT supposedly runs with 64 Compute Units (and 4096 Stream Processors), plus 64 Ray Accelerators and 128 AI Accelerators. Clock speeds come in at 2400MHz (the 'Game Clock') and a 2970MHz boost. Single-precision compute weighs in at 48.7 TFlops based on AMD's apparent press material.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti models leak: release date, total power, and VRAM
NVIDIA is reportedly planning to announce two RTX 5060 Ti models that will arrive with different memory specifications.
According to a report from WCCFTech, NVIDIA is slated to release an RTX 5060Ti that will be using the "PG152" board along with the GB206 GPU core. The outlet states NVIDIA will be releasing two variants, SKU 10 and SKU 15, and the main difference between the two cards is the VRAM they will be carrying. The publication writes the RTX 5060Ti will come in 8GB and 16GB VRAM, with both variants sticking to the 128-bit memory bus interface that is present on the current generation RTX 4060 Ti.
Keeping to the memory, both of the upcoming cards will use a GDDR7 memory interface, enabling up to 28 Gbps frequencies. More specifically, the GDDR76 memory will allow for a net total of 448 GB/s of bandwidth, which equates to 55% higher than the RTX 4060Ti and 65% higher than the RTX 4060. Moving to power, the publication states both of the new cards will have a rated TBP of 180W, which means they will have 20W more power than the RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB and 15W higher than the 16 GB RTX 4060 Ti.
