Want a cheaper RDNA 4 GPU? AMD's vanilla RX 9060 gets AIDA64 support, alongside Zen 6 CPUs
There have been some interesting additions for the latest version of AIDA64 in terms of AMD hardware, hinting at the prospect of a cheaper RDNA 4 GPU that could be inbound.
VideoCardz flagged up that the notes for the latest stable release of AIDA64 include not just the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT, but also the vanilla RX 9060.
That is, of course, a GPU which AMD is yet to confirm, but its appearance here is a strong suggestion that it might be due before too long (with any luck). It's worth noting that NVIDIA's RTX 5050 and 5060 are included with the new GPUs supported here. Oh, and there's Intel's BMG-G31 Battlemage graphics card, too.
AOOSTAR intros its XG76XT external Radeon RX 7600 XT: USB4 and OCulink ports for $470 in China
AOOSTAR has launched its new XG76XT external graphics card enclosure, which features a built-in RDNA 3-based AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT.
AOOSTAR's new XG76XT external GPU enclosure is listed on Chinese retailer JD for 3399 yuan (which converts to around $470 USD) with a regular retail price of 3499 yuan. The new external GPU solution is perfect for laptop or compact PC owners that want more graphics performance, without the bulk of a desktop PC.
The new XG76XT external GPU uses a full desktop-class Radeon RX 7600 XT, packing 32 CUs of RDNA 3 GPU power, and 16GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit memory interface. The Radeon RX 7600 XT graphics card supports 190W TGP in desktop configurations, while AOOSTAR's new XG76XT external GPU is limited to 150W. The AOOSTAR XG76XT at 150W will beat mobile versions like the RX 7600M XT, which is in other external GPUs, which is usually limited to 120W.

The better-looking of the two -- at least to me -- is from "Ultimate Shrouds", which is in the video above. This mod uses the MSI GeForce RTX 5090 VENTUS graphics cards which can now sport an incredible 4 or even 5 fans.
We have a custom 3D-printed shroud that holds 2 x Phanteks T30 fans, and 2 x Noctua NF-A6x25 PWM fans, but this mod can also support a third T30 fan on the back.

GALAX's flagship GeForce RTX 5090 D graphics card has set multiple new overclocking world records, seeing its GPU clocks hit a huge 3750MHz and its 32GB of GDDR7 memory clocked at an insane 36Gbps.
Team OGS is an overclocking team that has pushed the GALAX RTX 5090 D to its limits, using the GPU inside of a system powered by an Intel Core i9-14900KF processor inside of an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 APEX motherboard.
Team OGS was running an XOC BIOS that pushes the maximum power limit up to a bonkers 2000W, with the GALAX RTX 5090 D itself featuring dual 12V-2x6 power connectors that are capable of delivering 600W per connector, for up to 1200W of power flowing into the card, leaving a bunch of OC headroom within the BIOS.
NVIDIA's flagship GeForce RTX 5090 is over 25% slower without full PCIe bandwidth
NVIDIA's flagship GeForce RTX 5090 loses over 25% of its performance in professional video editing workloads when it isn't fed its full PCIe bandwidth in new testing.
The folks over at Puget Systems have tested the GeForce RTX 5090 to see what performance impact there is when the card is under limited PCIe bandwidth, as there are situations in particular systems when this is a major issue. Some users may have the RTX 5090 inside of a system that has another add-in card that is using those precious PCIe lanes, and that reduces the performance of the GPU.
Puget Systems started the testing with After Effects where the RTX 5090 loses a large chunk of performance when the GPU drops from PCIe 5.0 x16 to PCIe 3.0 x4 with over 10% performance loss, while the same performance loss is noticed with DaVinci Resolve where over 20% performance is lost when the GPU is running in PCIe 3.0 x4 with performance also being lost when the number of lanes is dropped from x16 and x4 in the same Gen5 slot. This means multiple AICs on your motherboard can definitely have a huge performance impact on the RTX 5090.
GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs are quickly gaining market share, per Steam's latest data
The Steam Hardware Survey results for June 2025 are in, and they show that NVIDIA's full line-up of GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs is quickly gaining market share. The most popular model is the GeForce RTX 5070, which has cracked the Top 25 discrete GPUs among PC gamers.
The RTX 5070 is NVIDIA's latest mid-range offering, succeeding the popular GeForce RTX 4070. Although the RTX 5070 made significant gains in June, the new GeForce RTX 5060 and GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPUs are both storming up the charts, making their debut after launching in late May - an impressive achievement.
Following the GeForce RTX 5070, the second most popular GPU in the 50 Series, so far, is the GeForce RTX 5080, followed by the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti in third place. In fact, with the RTX 5060, RTX 5060 Ti, and the flagship RTX 5090 also in the list, the entire lineup is accounted for - barring the brand-new GeForce RTX 5050, which launched this week.
GeForce RTX 5050 review shows that it's slightly slower than the Intel Arc B580
The launch of the desktop GeForce RTX 5050, starting from $249, is the latest NVIDIA launch where review samples were not sent to the media and press ahead of time. At TweakTown, we're in the process of arranging a sample; however, the first RTX 5050 review has already appeared online, courtesy of the Korean outlet Quasar Zone.
The review covers the custom COLORFUL GeForce RTX 5050 ULTRA OC White model, paired with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and 32GB of DDR5 memory. With 15 games tested at 1080p, the review compares the RTX 5050's performance to a wide range of entry-level and mainstream GPUs.
Across the 15 titles, the GeForce RTX 5050's performance is within 6.2% of the RTX 4060, while it falls short (2.6%) of the similarly priced Intel Arc B580 'Battlemage' GPU. It's worth highlighting that the Intel Arc B580, although slightly faster than the RTX 5050, also ships with 50% more VRAM, featuring 12GB of faster GDDR6 memory.
If Windows 11 ever gives you the option to 'eject' your GPU like a USB stick - don't do it
File this one under 'ludicrous experiments' (as well as improbable ones), but it turns out that if your GPU ever appears in the list of USB media that can be ejected from the taskbar in Windows, you really shouldn't try to do this.
But that's exactly what a foolhardy Redditor did - curious as to what the result would be - and hey, what do you know, but it ended up breaking the system (temporarily).
The first question you're likely to have is: How on earth did this happen in the first place? We've never had the option to eject our GPU like it was a USB stick, either, and apparently this is only served up in a virtual machine.

NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 5090 D v2: China-ready GPU should launch in August with 24GB GDDR7
NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 5090 D v2 is reportedly the name of its new China-specific GPU, according to a new post on X by leaker "MEGAsizeGPU".
In another post, HKEPC reports that NVIDIA is preparing its new GeForce RTX 5090 D v2 for an August launch, something we heard about in previous reports. This means that gamers in China will only have another month before they can secure themselves the new (tweaked) flagship GeForce RTX 5090 D v2 graphics card.
Inside, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 D v2 has the same GPU core count as the RTX 5090D with 21760 CUDA cores and the tweaked GB202-240-K-A1 GPU. The VRAM has been scaled down to 24GB (down from 32GB on the RTX 5090) on a 384-bit memory bus clocked at 28Gbps and the same 575W TDP but leaks tease "and there's a surprise".
New sales data for RTX 5060 Ti and RX 9060 XT strongly suggests 8GB GPUs are destined to fail
NVIDIA's RTX 5060 Ti with 8GB of VRAM, and the 8GB spin on the RX 9060 XT, are both selling pretty abysmally compared to the 16GB flavors of these graphics cards, going by some new stats.
The sales figures, picked up by TechPowerup (as flagged by VideoCardz), come from major German retailer Mindfactory.
For NVIDIA - and this includes every model available at the retailer - the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB has only achieved 105 sales to date. The RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB has raced ahead with 1675 units shifted, which is almost 16x more sales thus far.
GeForce RTX 5050 gaming benchmarks show performance sitting close to the RTX 4060
The new entry-level GeForce RTX 5050 desktop GPU is technically available now, even though NVIDIA's formal announcement put a second-half of July launch window for its launch. GeForce Game Ready Driver 576.88 is now available, adding support for the GeForce RTX 5050. However, as of now, there are no official reviews for the GPU, which is being marketed as a replacement for the GeForce RTX 3050.
Well, it looks like NVIDIA partner INNO3D has posted GeForce RTX 5050 desktop GPU performance, giving us our first look at how it compares when stacked up against the GeForce RTX 3060 and the GeForce RTX 4060, two of the most popular gaming GPUs currently available.
With charts covering the synthetic 3DMark benchmark suite of tests and games like Cyberpunk 2077, Marvel Rivals, DOOM: The Dark Ages, and Black Myth: Wukong at 1080p with DLSS, the GeForce RTX 5050's performance is close to that of the GeForce RTX 4060.
Game Ready Driver support for the iconic GeForce GTX 1080 Ti to end soon
Powered by NVIDIA's Pascal architecture, the GeForce GTX 10 Series of graphics cards is almost a decade old. With cards like the GeForce GTX 1060, 1070, and the iconic GeForce GTX 1080 Ti from 2017, it's widely considered one of NVIDIA's most successful GPU lineups for gamers.
NVIDIA, whose GeForce Game Ready Drivers still support Maxwell-era GeForce GTX 700 and GTX 900 cards, in addition to the GeForce GTX 10 Series, has confirmed that it will end driver support for these GPUs in the coming months. Although it hasn't specified a date for when new GeForce Game Ready Drivers will no longer support cards like the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, it notes that the 580 series of drivers will be the last to support these cards.
For reference, the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver version is 576.88, which means support will end in a matter of months. The confirmation arrives via a post on the 'Unix graphics feature deprecation schedule' forum thread, where NVIDIA spells it out plainly.

Inno3D says NVIDIA RTX 5050 desktop GPU is now on sale - is stock hitting shelves later today?
NVIDIA's RTX 5050 is apparently on sale, with one graphics card maker informing us that these desktop GPUs are now on shelves.
This is Inno3D which posted on X (as spotted by VideoCardz) to say that its various models of the RTX 5050 (Twin X2, OC, and Compact) are available and that you only need to 'reach out to your local retailers today.'
The problem being that there's no inventory actually showing in the retailers that Inno3D links to as its official stockists, as far as we can see - which is Newegg in the US.
GeForce RTX 5080 SUPER specs reveal it's going to be a 415W GPU
Yesterday, we received confirmation on some of the specifications for NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 50 Series SUPER refresh, which is currently rumored to arrive in early 2026. Outside of the GeForce RTX 5070 SUPER, which also increases the CUDA Core count slightly, the significant improvement this time around is the 50% increase in VRAM capacity for all SUPER GPUs.
This will allow the SUPER cards to better handle path tracing with max settings in titles like DOOM: The Dark Ages, while also expanding the cutting-edge AI capabilities of these GPUs. Rounding out the SUPER refresh, today we've got specs for the upcoming GeForce RTX 5080 SUPER graphics card courtesy of the same insider, @kopite7kimi.
Responding to a post about the potential specs for the GPU over on X, @kopite7kimi confirmed that the current specs indicate that the GeForce RTX 5080 SUPER will feature the exact SM and CUDA Core count as the baseline GeForce RTX 5080, albeit with a faster 3 GHz Boost Clock speed, and 24GB of fast GDDR7 clocked at a higher 32 Gbps speed.

SPARKLE has just announced three new Arc Pro "Battlemage" series graphics cards, including a dual-GPU variant rocking 48GB of GDDR6 memory.
In a new post by VideoCardz, we've got some new information on SPARKLE's new Intel Arc Pro "Battlemage" GPUs starting with the Arc B60 Passive with no active cooling (in the pictures above). In the pictures below, we've got SPARKLE's new Arc Pro B60 Blower, with a blower-style cooler.
Both the SPARKLE Intel Arc Pro B60 24GB Blower and Arc Pro B60 24GB Passive measure in at 289 x 120 x 42mm, weighing in at 1056g, and arriving in a dual-slot design. VC compares these new offerings from SPARKLE but without detailed specifications, expected to feature a 300W Total Board Power (TBP).
ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 OC with LN2 cooling breaks 3DMark Port Royal world record
ASUS's flagship ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC graphics card has been chilled under LN2 and pushed to its limits by overclocker "Splave" to break the 3DMark Port Royal world record.
The 3DMark Port Royal world record now sits at a huge 47,375 points using the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 OC and overclocker Splave, breaking the previous record set by overclocker OGS who used the GeForce RTX 5090D and 47,196 points: a record held for just a few days until Splave's new record was set.
Splave used LN2 cooling on his ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 OC Edition graphics card, with the overclocker hitting 219.33 FPS in Port Royal, a new world record for the RTX 5090. The average score for the RTX 5090 on Port Royal is a little over 36,000 points, so with a score of 47,375 we have a 31% increase over the average score... impressive stuff.
Need a budget GPU? NVIDIA RTX 5050 is out tomorrow, Amazon product listing suggests
NVIDIA's RTX 5050 desktop graphics card has been keenly awaited for some time now, and it may go on sale a bit sooner than we hoped in the US.
As a quick refresher, NVIDIA revealed the desktop GPU alongside the laptop variant last week, pinning an MSRP of $249 on the former.
We were told that the board would launch in the second half of July - at least outside of Asia (it could arrive sooner in China, perhaps) - so that means we theoretically still have a couple of weeks to wait before we can buy this budget GPU.
DLSS 4's new enhanced Super Resolution now uses a lot less VRAM
Last week, NVIDIA's new DLSS 4 Super Resolution, which utilizes a more advanced and complex Transformer model, exited beta. Debuting alongside the GeForce RTX 50 Series earlier this year (with support for GPUs from the RTX 20, 30, and 40 Series cards), the new DLSS 4 Super Resolution sets a new standard for AI-powered upscaling that delivers incredible image quality that is often sharper and more detailed than native rendering.
It's become a key selling point for the GeForce RTX 50 Series thanks to it already being available in over 125 games and apps. With it officially exiting beta and becoming part of the DLSS Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction SDK 310.3.0, it will start becoming available in more and more titles, with the older, existing CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) variant set to be phased out.
With an updated version of the DLSS SDK for game developers now available, which includes the official release of DLSS 4's new Transformer model for Super Resolution, we've also learned that NVIDIA was able to reduce the VRAM requirement for running the latest model.
