Razer's new Blade laptops now have GeForce RTX graphics

Razer refreshes its Blade gaming laptops, now includes GeForce RTX graphics options.

CES 2019 - Razer has just unleashed a bunch of new gaming products with a refresh to its Blade gaming laptops as well as the surprise unveiling of Razer Raptor, a new gaming monitor that has one of the most unique designs yet.

The new Razer Blade laptops have been upgraded with the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics with RTX 2080 Max-Q, RTX 2070 Max-Q and RTX 2060 Max-Q on offer. As for displays we're looking at Blade 15 gaming notebooks split into two families with the Advanced Model and Mercury Edition, with the Mercury Edition being the lighter of the two and doesn't ship in Razer's traditional black design but more light gray.

Inside, Razer is powering the new Blade 15 laptops with an Intel Core i7-8750H processor and 16GB of RAM with either 256GB or 512GB of SSD storage. The 16GB of RAM arrives as DDR4-2677, while the storage arrives as the super-thin but super-fast M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4 standard.

But it's the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics that will have people upgrading, with options for the new Blade 15 to be configured with GeForce RTX 2060 with 6GB GDDR6, RTX 2070 Max-Q with 8GB GDDR6, and the flagship GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q and 8GB of GDDR6.

  • 1 x Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port
  • 3 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 (USB-A) ports
  • 1 x Gigabit Ethernet
  • 1 x HDMI 2.0b (full-sized) port
  • 1 x Mini DisplayPort 1.4

All of the new Razer Blade 15 notebooks have the same dimensions, with this arriving as 0.70 in. / 17.8 mm (Height) x 13.98 in. / 355 mm (Width) x 9.25 in. / 235 mm (Depth). The weights change between models, with each model getting heavier and heavier maxing out at 4.73 lbs / 2.15 kg:

  • RTX 2060 models: 4.56 lbs / 2.07 kg
  • RTX 2070/2080 Full HD models: 4.63 lbs / 2.10 kg
  • RTX 2070 4K models: 4.73 lbs / 2.15 kg

Razer offers two different display options with the 15.6-inch panel configured with either a 1080p 144Hz screen or a 4K touch panel at 60Hz.
