According to Slash Film, the $100 million film has barely been able to recoup its production budget at the worldwide box office, let alone the hefty marketing campaign which came with it. Despite a tepid response from western audiences, including $84 million from the United States , the production had hoped that a stellar taken in China and Japan would prove its saving grace. Unfortunately, the film only managed $3.3 million over its Chinese premier weekend - a far cry from the $50 million haul of 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2. With just $138 million in the can, 'Power Rangers 2' looks to be fading dream. Or nightmare.
