Apple's next-gen M5 processors will power the company's upcoming new iPad Pro models later this year, with both Samsung Display and LG Display reportedly kicking off mass production of the OLED panels in preparation for the new iPad Pros.

Apple's previous iPad Pro models debuted with OLED displays, where Samsung took care of the 11-inch panels for the company, while LG handled the 13-inch models. This year, the two South Korean manufacturers will share the supply for both panel sizes, which is most likely a result of Apple's continued efforts to diversify its supply chain.
Furthermore, the change to the supply chain is most likely because Apple needs to deepen its OLED adoption across its suppliers, as the company is expected to roll out OLED panels for the new iPad mini in 2026, and the iPad Air in 2027.
Apple's new iPad Pro is expected to feature the company's next-gen M5 processors, compared to the M4 iPad Pro from last year, which was also thinner and lighter, adding support for the new Apple Pencil Pro, and more. We should expect the new M5 iPad Pro to feature a "much smaller update" reports MacRumors, with "no major upgrades" rumored beyond the new M5 chip.
The new Apple M5 processor will be fabbed on TSMC's advanced 3nm process node, providing more performance and improved efficiency. MacRumors says that the only other potential change for the new M5 iPad Pro would be the Apple logo on the back to switch to landscape orientation versus portrait, which would make the Apple logo appear upright when the iPad Pro is in landscape mode, which is perfect for when the new iPad Pro is used with a keyboard.
