I've just gotten home from a 7-day trip to the river with my family, right back into work and gloriously happy that I don't have to fly from Australia to Las Vegas for CES 2018 this year, my first time not attending in three years.

What better way to get back into the New Year than by sitting my butt on noblechairs' latest ICON series gaming chair, while I sit and furiously write content for CES 2018 and get a bunch of PUBG gaming in now that v1.0 is here. I've been meaning to play PUBG for the last couple of weeks, but wanted to wait for my review of noblechairs' latest ICON series gaming chair to arrive.

Now that it's here, I'm sitting on it for the next week and forming this review. I received the chair before I went away, only using it for a few days with bursts of work before Christmas. Now I'm firmly planted on it for the next few days I can truly appreciate what noblechairs has created with their luxurious new ICON series gaming chair.

ICON Features

noblechairs has put thousands of engineering and design hours into the creation of the ICON series, with some impressive ergonomics into the ICON series.

The company compares the suspension of a sports car to the quality of its ride, to the real-world performance of the ergonomics of the ICON series chair. noblechairs says the "construction of the ICON series has necessitated an unrelenting level of precision engineering: 4D armrests, 90-degree to 135-degree of backrest adjustability, a robust 11-degree rocking mechanism and a safety class 4 gas lift supporting up to 150 kg coalesce to offer a superior sitting experience".

ICON has a very specific shape, with noblechairs using cold foam that provides not just an ergonomically stable chair, but increases comfort to new levels while reducing pressure on the body over extended periods of time sitting. You might be sitting there for hours gaming or working, so noblechairs is wanting to ensure you have not just one of the comfiest, but healthiest seats to sit on.

noblechairs' new ICON series chair has the usual signature noblechairs' solid, supportive, steel frame. The company uses foam with a density of 55% that lets the ICON series foam chair to retain its shape after long use, as well as provide increased support for heavier users. The open-cell foam is ergonomic, breathable, and controls climate regulation according to noblechairs.

Detailed Look

This is an area that noblechairs has always nailed; the look and style of their gaming chairs, with the new ICON series being no exception. It's a great-looking gaming chair that deserves a place in front of your desk, and worthy of the money that you will put into it.

Starting at the top, we have the soft head cushion that noblechairs provides with the ICON series chair, something I used more often when watching videos and movies sitting in the chair.

Taking off the pillow we have some awesome noblechairs styling, something I wish that the company put on the back of the chair.

There is some branding in the back of the chair from the front, which I love.

The buttons on the arm rests are perfect, they feel solid and worth the additional money for the ICON series gaming chair.

See? It looks like a boss.

This cushion gave me over 100 hours of comfort, even in those 43C summer days.

Butt, What's It Like To Sit On?

I sat on the noblechairs ICON series gaming chair for over 80 hours in the CES week, and never found myself uncomfortable. One of the best things about the chair is the flat base that means I can cross my legs when I'm sitting down, which I find comfortable.

I found that I didn't use the arms that much, but when I did it was great to be able to tweak them to my liking with the metal-feel button.

As for laying down in the ICON gaming chair, the chair won't go all of the way down, but it will flex right down to 135 degrees if you need it. I sit with my back as straight as I can, and I had one of the best seated experiences of my life with the noblechairs ICON.

What's Hot, What's Not & Final Thoughts

What's Hot

Superior Comfort - I'm not a huge fan of leather, but when it's used in the right way it can make for a very comfortable experience. This is where the new noblechairs ICON gaming series chair comes into play, as it's super comfortable even for those 12-hour days sitting down powering through work.

New Arm Rests - The arm rests might not sound like much, but they're an important part of the gaming chair experience. The new arm rests and the metal button adds a nice touch of class to the chair, rounding out the premium-ness of it all.

Styling - Man, does the chair LOOK great... it feels like a premium throne that I'm about to sit down on.

Hours of Use: Still Comfortable - I used the noblechairs ICON series gaming chair for over 100 hours for the purpose of the review, even through 43C+ heat and it was awesome. I never felt uncomfortable on it, ever.

What's Not

Back Pillow: I seriously got addicted to the memory foam pillow on SecretLab's awesome TITAN gaming chair, and this is something I really missed on noblechairs' ICON series chair. I'm hoping noblechairs dive into the memory foam game, as it would be the cherry on top of an already near-perfect gaming chair.

Final Thoughts

There is some major competition brewing in the high-end gaming chair market between noblechairs and SecretLab, and I love it. They are one-two punching the market with impressive chair after impressive chair, with noblechairs impressing yet again with its new ICON series gaming chair.

After a good 100 hours of use, the noblechairs ICON series gaming chair has impressed me as I thought it would. It's a great looking chair that's also incredibly comfortable, with noblechairs making some great - big and small - changes to the chair. Enough to get your interest, keep it, and then end with you sitting firmly on the chair.

If you want a new gaming chair that has been dunked in style and comfort, the noblechairs ICON gaming series is expensive, but worthy of your PC gaming experience.
